“Hey! We shouldn’t be focusing on this, right?” 0

During Jiang Liu's hesitation about whether to voice his thoughts, Laziness spoke up, looking at Greed with a smirk. “Just now, you pointed at Joy and called her a ghost, but the outcome tells us you were wrong. And now you’re turning your accusations towards Pride! I seriously doubt your motives! Are you trying to split us apart one by one?” 0

The others in the room suddenly realized what Laziness was implying. That’s right! They had been led astray by Greed’s earlier accusation and had focused solely on figuring out what Pride knew, forgetting that it was Greed who first pointed at Joy. If Laziness hadn’t brought this to their attention, they would have undoubtedly targeted Pride in the next round of accusations. 0

Now understanding the situation, everyone turned their gaze toward Greed, who cursed Laziness inwardly for being so meddlesome. 0

Laziness continued to stare at Greed. “So I have every reason to suspect you might be the ghost.” 0

“Impossible! Besides, I wasn’t the only one who accused her; why should I be the one considered guilty?” Greed, having failed in one scheme, quickly devised another, dragging the other three who had pointed at Joy into the mess. 0

“I can overlook your previous actions,” Jiang Liu said, struggling to suppress his anger and speaking as calmly as he could. “But! I hope that was the last time!” 0

“You’re too easygoing, Pride; it doesn’t match your supposed temperament at all!” Laziness chuckled as he looked at Jiang Liu. 0

Jiang Liu couldn’t understand Laziness’s attitude. Initially, it seemed so obvious that Laziness was targeting him, yet just moments ago, he had helped him out. However, having one more ally was certainly better than having another enemy. He turned to the others and explained, “I don’t want anything like what just happened to occur again! Our goal now is to identify the ghost, not to make random accusations!” 0

“I agree! That was just a moment of heated impulse!” 0

“Me too!” 0

"Next, I promise I won't make any random accusations!" 0

The others who were still alive understood that Jiang Liu was giving them an opportunity to back down, and one by one, they all agreed not to make baseless claims during the upcoming identification phase. However, Jiang Liu ignored the others and fixed his gaze on Greed until Greed finally acknowledged him with a nod before he shifted his attention. 0

Laziness let out a few "tch" sounds, unable to tolerate Jiang Liu's good-natured behavior, but he refrained from interrupting and quietly listened to what Jiang Liu had to say next. 0

"I have indeed noticed a few things, but they are unrelated to the identity of the ghost, which is why I haven't spoken up until now." Jiang Liu mimicked Laziness by tapping his fingers on the round table. "First of all, my first point is our Ugly Masks. I believe these are completely misleading clues given to us by some mysterious entity, including the emotions represented by each of our masks. Secondly, I think one of the hints provided by that mysterious entity could very well be our respective codenames, but I still don't know what those codenames signify." 0

"No, no, no! I actually think the masks hint at some other meanings!" Laziness interrupted Jiang Liu. Jiang Liu looked at Laziness, signaling him to continue. 0

"Everyone recall how Lust, Joy, and Fear met their ends—wasn't it different?" 0

"Burned! Tongue pulled out! Beheaded! It's somewhat similar to the deaths in the Seven Deadly Sins." Jiang Liu quickly responded and asked Laziness, "Did you discover something?" 0

"Not really! I just wanted to counter your earlier claim that the emotions represented by the masks are merely misleading." Laziness shrugged nonchalantly. 0

Jiang Liu was so infuriated by Laziness that he nearly spat blood. He bit his teeth in frustration and managed to say through gritted teeth, "So you also support my earlier view that the masks are just misleading us in identifying the ghost's identity?" 0

"Exactly! I just think that the masks represent each of our methods of death." 0

"…" 0

Taking a few deep breaths, Jiang Liu decided not to look at Laziness anymore and continued with his unfinished thoughts: "So! I hope that during the upcoming identification phase, everyone here will refrain from making random guesses." 0

"At this point, I realize how much nonsense you keep spouting! Someone is already dead, and you're still rambling on!" Rage asked angrily, "Do you have any clues or not?" 0

Damn it! How could there be such a useless teammate! Why wasn't it him who died first? Can't he see how serious this situation is? It's not that there are no clues; it's that there can't be! 0

Frustrated and at a loss for words, Jiang Liu fell silent. Seeing Jiang Liu's silence, Rage felt justified in his anger. This arrogant person was nothing but a show-off, pretending to understand while being utterly clueless. Continuing, he said, "This won't work! That won't work! Are we just going to sit here and wait for the ghost to kill us one by one?" 0

"I think we should consider a different perspective. Since we can't find clues from the living, why not look for them among the three who are dead?" Malice suggested at that moment. 0

Everyone present brightened at those words. Of course! Since there were no leads from other sources, why not investigate the three who had died? If there truly was a rule governing the ghost's killings, then the deaths of those three must have significance! Their deaths were certainly a hint for the rest of them! 0

Thank goodness! Not everyone is this foolish! 0

Seeing Malice cleverly redirecting their focus to the deceased, Jiang Liu finally felt a glimmer of hope. Earlier, he had been so frustrated by Rage's idiocy that he almost resigned himself to the idea of total annihilation in this game. Fortunately, such foolishness was only Rage's; the others were performing well and at least weren't so dimwitted as to miss the underlying meanings in their own discussions. 0

Based on the order of deaths, the first to die was Number 5, Lust, followed by Number 7, Joy, and then Number 8, Fear. Since Number 7 was killed due to our mistaken identification, only Numbers 5 and 8 were killed by the ghost! But no matter how he thought about it, there were no clues connecting them! Did the ghost kill according to some rules or just freely? And why didn't it start killing on the First Night? Was it part of the game's rules? Or had someone already died during the First Night!? 0

Jiang Liu suddenly thought of a terrifying hypothesis. If this hypothesis were correct, then without a doubt, he himself had led them into this dead end! 0

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became of this theory; yet there were still many aspects he couldn't comprehend! It was like a spider web riddled with holes—he couldn't rely on these fragmented clues to find the ultimate hunter! There were some crucial points he hadn't figured out or perhaps had forgotten some important hints! He needed some clues to confirm his thoughts! 0
