I have been feeling a sense of longing for my parents at home. After all, the experiences I've gone through recently have been overwhelming.

Gu Chen told me that the reason he wants others from the Taoist Nine Meridians to stay close is precisely because of his concerns.

Although I cannot sense it, those two fellows who initiated everything in the Yin Domain are acutely aware of it. My parents are simple rural folk. They are kind-hearted and although they feel surprised by the sudden arrival of so many guests at home, they do not think too much about it since they see that these guests came with me. They are extremely polite.

After all, they are my parents; I should at least greet them properly. It wouldn't make sense for so many people to suddenly show up at home without an explanation.
I nodded. I did not mention anything about the Demon King's Cauldron but simply told them about Li briefly. Following Gu Chen's suggestion, I asked them if anything strange had happened at home recently or if they had seen any unusual people around.
According to Gu Chen's speculation, if Li is nearby my hometown, there is a good chance he might come here.
They were aware of the situation between me and Mu Yan. Although they had many questions in their hearts, there were too many people around, so they didn’t ask further.
One of them shook his head in confusion and said, "Nothing strange has happened at home, and I haven't seen any unusual people."
"Mm."
Hearing this, I glanced at Gu Chen, who nodded slightly, his expression thoughtful.
At that moment, my dad paused for a moment before suddenly saying, "By the way, although nothing strange has happened at home, it seems that there have been frequent odd occurrences in the river in City lately."

My reaction was normal; as I had just mentioned, the river in City could reach depths of at least two to three meters when full. It stretched from the outskirts of the city to several counties, ultimately flowing who knows where.
With such depth, it was not uncommon for several people to drown each year. So it wasn't surprising that a few lives were lost.
However, my dad's next words made us take notice. He continued, "While it's not unusual for people to drown, what's strange is that regardless of whether they jumped in from upstream or downstream, all the bodies have been recovered from a spot not far from the same location."
"What? How is that possible?" I looked at my dad in disbelief.
"Yes, I also find it hard to believe. But that's the reality," my dad nodded.
I frowned slightly. My dad wouldn’t lie; if there were no basis for it, he wouldn’t say such things.
But the idea that all those bodies ended up being recovered from a single location was indeed perplexing.
If the body had drowned after jumping into the river upstream, it would be easy to explain how it drifted to that location with the current.
But what if the person jumped in downstream? In that case, the body would have to swim against the current like a living person, rather than being carried downstream or sinking to the riverbed.
I couldn't make sense of it, so I turned my gaze to Gu Chen and the others.
Their expressions were serious as they exchanged glances, seemingly understanding something.
Noticing my confusion, Gu Chen spoke up, "What your father said is true. Although this situation seems unlikely at first glance, it actually makes sense."
"Master, what do you mean?" I still didn't quite understand.
"It's simple. The area where those bodies were recovered should be where the Yin Qi is strongest in that river. In other words, it's a matter of attraction; something in that part of the river drew those bodies there, rather than them being able to swim upstream after death."
"Are you saying it's related to Li?" Gu Chen's explanation made me grasp a bit more, but I couldn't help but ask in disbelief.
He shook his head. "I don't know. But whether it's her or something else, since we've discovered it, we need to go take a look. Water is inherently Yin; the Yin Qi gathers and doesn't disperse in water. Clearly, something is there absorbing the Yin Qi for its own cultivation."
"That's right. If it's not intentional, that's one thing; but if it is intentional, then these monsters and spirits must be dealt with. Who knows how many people might die in the future?" As soon as Gu Chen finished speaking, Ma Zeyu, the heir of the Ma family, chimed in sharply.
I glanced at him but remained silent. Looking at the others revealed they shared Ma Zeyu's sentiment, which made me feel a bit anxious.
What if Li really is there?

If everything truly stems from Li, how would Gu Chen and the others deal with her then?
"You don't need to overthink it; nothing has been confirmed yet." Seeing my worried expression, Gu Chen offered some reassurance.
I nodded and replied, "I understand, Master."
"Good."
He glanced at the sky and then at my dad, before sweeping his gaze over everyone and saying, "It's still early. Since we have some leads, we should take advantage of the moment. How about we go check it out?"
Gu Chen's suggestion echoed the thoughts in everyone's minds, and they all nodded in agreement.
My dad said, "Then let's go."
Gu Chen nodded and replied, "Yes, I truly apologize for disturbing you two this morning."
My dad quickly waved his hand and said, "What are you talking about? Since my son's master and his seniors are here, I must treat you well." After that, he asked, "Since you insist on going, I'll accompany you as a guide."
"No need. Xiao Lin can come with us," Gu Chen said directly.
I nodded and reassured my dad, "Dad, don't worry. My master and the others are not ordinary people. If there's anything wrong with that river, they'll spot it immediately."
"That's true. Alright then," my dad finally nodded.
Once Gu Chen and the others stood up, my parents hurriedly followed us to the door, politely seeing us off.
