When He Si left me, he mentioned that he was going to find Gu Chen, so it wasn't surprising to see them together again.
However, he said that there were dragons in Qinghai Lake and urged me to go to Qinghai, which made me somewhat skeptical.
Setting aside the fact that dragons are creatures of myth, even if they did exist in reality, how could they be so easily found?
Moreover, it was in the vast sea. But since He Si said this was Gu Chen's intention, I didn't hesitate or refuse, as I had already wanted to leave.
After hanging up with He Si, I pondered for a moment and then found Mao Guoxue to inform him of my plans to head to Qinghai.
"Since He Si said so, it must be Senior Gu's intention. Senior Gu wouldn't lie; perhaps there really are dragons in Qinghai Lake," Mao Guoxue replied without a hint of doubt.
Seeing him so serious and his response so articulate, I couldn't help but frown slightly and ask, "Second Uncle, do you really think there are dragons in this world?"
He shook his head but quickly nodded again, which only deepened my confusion. "Second Uncle, what do you mean by that?"
He glanced at me and took a few steps before saying, "Have you seen the news about Xiaolin?"
I was puzzled. "What news?"
"Qinghai Lake, Nine Dragons Drinking Water," Mao Guoxue answered calmly.
"Qinghai Lake, Nine Dragons Drinking Water."
His words made my brows furrow even deeper. That news had gone viral online and caused quite a stir; of course I had seen it and even looked up several related articles and videos.
I remembered it was on the morning of October 20, 2014, around 9:50 AM. Witnesses reported seeing nine white water columns rising from the surface of Qinghai Lake within an hour, shooting into the sky and connecting the clouds with the lake surface, resembling a Jiao Long plunging into the water.
Although this spectacle was magnificent and widely circulated online, meteorological experts explained it as a normal weather phenomenon caused by a tornado appearing over the water surface.
Thinking back on that explanation now seemed rather far-fetched. Just how powerful would a tornado need to be to create such an effect?
So I turned my gaze toward Mao Guoxue, astonished. "Are you saying that the scene that went viral online is..."
Although I hadn't finished speaking, Mao Guoxue clearly understood. He nodded and said, "I can't be sure, but if there really is a dragon in Qinghai Lake, it should have some connection."
I nodded in agreement, not wanting to dwell on the uncertainty any longer. Instead, I glanced at Mu Yan and Mingyue before deciding, "Regardless of whether it's true or not, Second Uncle, I'm planning to leave early tomorrow morning."
"That soon?" Mao Guoxue asked.
"Yes," I replied. "I'm feeling much better now, and staying here would just be idle. It's better to head out and find my master and Fourth Brother."
Mao Guoxue fell silent for a moment, then looked at me and said, "Alright, then you should prepare well. As for the ticket to Qinghai tomorrow, I'll have someone arrange it for you shortly."
He understood that staying would only make me uncomfortable, so he didn't try to stop me.
I thanked him sincerely, "Thank you very much, Second Uncle."
"Don't mention it," Mao Guoxue waved his hand dismissively. "You three can chat for a bit; I'll step out for now." With that, he turned and left the room.
"I'll go with you," Mu Yan said directly as soon as Mao Guoxue stepped out.
"Of course," I replied with a slight smile, not hesitating at all.
Upon hearing this, a warm smile appeared on her face.
"I... I want to go with you too."
I was slightly taken aback and turned around to see Mingyue biting her lip and looking at me. However, after I turned around, her gaze seemed to drift away.
I sighed inwardly. If I had previously doubted Mingyue's feelings for me, after this incident, I had come to believe in them.
And regarding her feelings, I was at a loss for what to do. I couldn't help but turn back to glance at Mu Yan again.
Mu Yan gazed at the bright moon, noticing my silence as she turned her attention elsewhere.
She did not object.
I turned around again, smiling slightly as I said, "Miss Mingyue, you have helped me a lot and saved me many times. If you are not afraid of trouble or hardship this time, and if you might encounter many dangers later on, then we would certainly be more than happy to have such a skilled person like you by our side."
Although my words carried a hint of jest, they were nonetheless an undeniable truth.
Upon hearing this, Mingyue smiled knowingly, her gaze firming as she nodded and replied, "Of course I'm not afraid."
By the next day, as we headed to Qinghai via the subway, there were three figures: myself, Mu Yan, and Mingyue.
Arriving in Qinghai was a matter for the following day; it was He Si who came to pick us up at the subway station.
Time felt neither long nor short during this period. He Si appeared unchanged; he was still the same as ever.
As for Mu Yan accompanying me, He Si showed no surprise. However, Mingyue's presence did catch him off guard.
He didn't say much about it; he simply shot me a knowing glance before greeting us with a smile and ushering us into the car.
"It’s been quite a journey. You can rest in the car for a while; it will take some time to reach the dock," He Si said while driving and glancing back at us.
I nodded and asked, "Is Master at the dock?"
He shook his head with a smile. "Senior Gu is not at the dock; he is out at sea."
"At sea?" I was momentarily taken aback.
He chuckled again. "Since we're looking for a dragon, of course it has to be at sea. Once we arrive at the dock, we will also need to take a boat to find Senior Gu."
"Oh, I see," I said, feeling a bit embarrassed as I finally understood.
He Si smiled again, not minding my reaction.
After about two hours of travel, we finally arrived at the dock that He Si had mentioned. The dock was bustling with people, most of whom were either preparing to set sail or were workers moving cargo.
He Si led us to a small yacht and gestured for us to board.
I was momentarily taken aback and looked up at the vast ocean, unable to believe it. "Fourth Brother, please don't tell me we're all going to sit on this little boat out in the open sea."
"What's wrong? Afraid it will sink?" He Si joked.
Before I could respond, he continued, "Don't worry, we're not far from where Senior Gu is. There are boats there, and we'll set sail together."
With that, he stepped onto the yacht.
