The shadow clearly appeared to be a person, running swiftly, but it couldn't match the speed of Mingyue. She quickly caught up. 0

"Jin Zhongyun, is that you?" When she reached the figure, Mingyue was momentarily taken aback, her delicate brows furrowing as she looked at him. 0

"Yes, it's me." Since Mingyue had already caught up, Jin Zhongyun straightforwardly stopped running. 0

"Why were you running?" Fixing her gaze on Jin Zhongyun, Mingyue asked coldly, sensing that his appearance was not as simple as it seemed. 0

At that moment, Xiao Juan also arrived. Upon seeing Jin Zhongyun, a look of surprise flashed across her face. 0

She then began to scan the surroundings before her anxious gaze landed back on Jin Zhongyun. Her tone turned icy as she asked, "Where is Lin Hao?" 0

"How would I know about Lin Hao? He’s missing; you ask me, and I should ask who?" Jin Zhongyun replied, looking at Xiao Juan with confusion. 0

However, Xiao Juan's words seemed to trigger something in Mingyue. Her expression suddenly darkened as she fixed her gaze on Jin Zhongyun. 0

"Jin Zhongyun," Mingyue said coldly. 0

"Mingyue." Jin Zhongyun bit her lip, her eyes flickering uncertainly. 0

"Answer my previous question." Each word was laced with frost; Mingyue offered no room for pleasantries. 0

"I don't know; don't ask me," Jin Zhongyun shook her head again, her expression resolute. 0

Yet she couldn't bring herself to meet Mingyue's gaze. 0

"You don't know?" Mingyue's tone grew even colder. "You've always had a strong opinion about Lin Hao. Now you show up in Jintan just when Lin Hao has gone missing. You expect me to believe you?" 0

Jin Zhongyun swallowed hard, her eyes wavering, but she insisted, "I really don't know; I came to find you." 0

"Fine. Since you won't tell me the truth, I'll find out myself. If I discover Lin Hao or realize you're lying to me, then from now on, the name Jin Zhongyun will no longer exist in my dictionary." 0

"You actually said such things to me for him." 0

Jin Zhongyun's emotions surged as he exclaimed, "Do you not understand my feelings for you? What is so good about him that makes you care this much?" 0

"This is my own business," Mingyue replied coldly. 0

"And what about me?" Jin Zhongyun couldn't help but shout. 0

"You—" 0

Mingyue glanced at him, her tone still indifferent. "I told you before, I don't like you at all. It's always been your one-sided affection." 0

"Alright, alright, Mingyue, you really can be something." 0

Jin Zhongyun gritted his teeth in anger, repeating the word "alright" three times. 0

Mingyue remained unmoved, not responding, only continuing to stare at Jin Zhongyun with her calm and indifferent gaze. 0

Her attitude seemed to truly infuriate Jin Zhongyun. He no longer concealed his feelings and directly admitted, "Fine, since you have no affection for me at all, I won't hide it anymore. You want to find Lin Hao, right? Unfortunately, he’s already dead. Dead, do you understand?" 0

As he spoke, Jin Zhongyun couldn't help but laugh loudly, his face filled with desolation and sorrow. 0

"What? Lin Hao is dead?" 0

Jin Zhongyun's words left both Mingyue and Xiao Juan stunned in place, their faces pale as they looked at the seemingly insane Korean before them in disbelief. 0

Finally, Xiao Juan erupted, and Mingyue followed suit. 0

"I'll kill you." After a brief silence, Xiao Juan let out a frantic scream. 0

The scream was filled with endless pain and heartbreak as tears streamed down her face. She charged directly at Jin Zhongyun without any strategy, her hands and feet flying as she struck at him like a furious woman. 0

Jin Zhongyun stood there, seemingly indifferent to the person Xiao Juan was striking, as if it were not himself being hit at all. 0

Yet his gaze remained fixed on the cold figure of Mingyue, the woman he had traveled thousands of miles to find in a foreign land. 0

He smiled, but with that smile, his heart shattered. 0

“Jin, Jin Zhongyun,” Mingyue said, her face pale, as if she still couldn't believe it. Her voice trembled slightly. 0

“You're very sad,” Jin Zhongyun asked with a smile. 0

“Why... why did you do this?” Mingyue asked again, taking hesitant steps forward, slowly approaching Jin Zhongyun. 0

“Why?” Jin Zhongyun seemed to be asking himself. 0

Then he let out a self-deprecating laugh, his gaze turning fierce as he looked at Mingyue. “The reason is simple: I hate him. If it weren't for him, you wouldn't be so cold to me. Ever since you met him, you've changed completely. Even if you don't say it, don't think I can't see it. You're always thinking of him, and what about me?” 0

Unable to contain himself any longer, he shouted, “I always believed in an old saying from your country: time breeds affection. But now it all seems like nonsense. No matter how long I've known you or how much time we've spent together, it pales in comparison to him. So I want him to disappear from this world—yes, disappear completely.” 0

By the end of his outburst, Jin Zhongyun's eyes had turned bloodshot, and two tears fell uncontrollably down his cheeks. 0

Upon hearing this, Mingyue's advancing footsteps faltered suddenly; her legs weakened, nearly collapsing to the ground. She looked at Jin Zhongyun in disbelief and said, “So it was me who harmed him.” 0

Xiao Juan had already collapsed on the ground after enduring the emotional blow and had fainted. 0

“No, it's his own fault,” Jin Zhongyun shook his head fiercely. 0

Suddenly, Mingyue lifted her head; tears shimmered in her eyes and fell uncontrollably. Yet within those tear-filled eyes emerged a chilling determination. 0

“You want to kill me?” Sensing the murderous intent emanating from Mingyue, Jin Zhongyun's smile vanished instantly as he questioned her in a low voice. 0

Mingyue clenched her fists tightly, her teeth gritted, yet she spoke with unwavering determination, "You killed him, and I will avenge him." 0

"Avenge him." 0

Upon hearing this, Jin Zhongyun couldn't help but laugh heartily again. But as the laughter faded, he suddenly appeared utterly despondent, his face ashen. 0

He turned his gaze to Mingyue and said softly, "If that's the case, then go ahead and make your move. If I cannot have your love in life, perhaps dying by your hand could be a form of happiness." 0

Mingyue shivered once more, fixing her eyes on him. "Is it worth it?" 0

Jin Zhongyun smiled lightly and replied, "There is no such thing as worth or not worth. As long as I know that I have loved, that is enough." 0

After saying this, he looked at Mingyue with deep affection, a fleeting hint of loneliness crossing his face before he continued, "But please remember, there was at least one person who truly loved you." 0

"Even if it means dying for you." 0

Wishing everyone a happy Winter Solstice; don't forget to eat dumplings. 0
