Mingyue's words left Mu Yan standing there in a daze. Her gaze towards me was not filled with resentment, but rather a look of confusion. 0

I quickly gathered my clothes and, ignoring my parents' numerous questions, managed to brush them off before hurriedly running out to find Grandma Jiang and Xiao Juan. 0

My parents and Mu Yan followed me outside, watching my panicked figure from the road. 0

Then my parents glanced at Mu Yan again, their faces filled with puzzlement and sighs. 0

Mu Yan's body trembled slightly; if it weren't for Mingyue holding her hand at that moment, she probably would have lost control and rushed forward to stop me. 0

In the end, I left with Grandma Jiang and Xiao Juan, heading to Jintan. 0

However, Mao Shiba seemed upset and stayed behind, likely to be with Mingyue. I didn't pay much attention to that as I left. 0

Once we arrived in Jintan, Grandma Jiang quickly picked a date without much fuss—just a double day five days later. 0

As for the time leading up to it, I stayed at her house. Of course, until Xiao Juan and I were officially married and under Grandma Jiang's watchful eye, we couldn't live together. 0

Aside from the wedding dress, there wasn't much else to prepare. 0

Grandma Jiang's requirements were extremely simple: no relatives or friends, no grand procession, no luxury cars, and no lavish banquets. 0

Even the wedding dress and photography were deemed unnecessary by Grandma Jiang. We simply found a decent clothing store on the street and bought two similar outfits. 0

The following days were spent quietly waiting for the arrival of the fifth day. 0

Yet during this time, I often caught sight of a figure outside Grandma Jiang's house. 0

Mu Yan had arrived. 0

Every day, just before dusk and dawn, I would open the door to see her figure outside Grandma Jiang's gate. She stood there silently at a distance, like a ghost, and when she caught sight of me, she would quietly slip away. 0

It wasn't until the fourth night that Grandma Jiang did something around the house. She hung a Bagua Mirror on either side of the front door, and after that, I no longer saw Mu Yan's silhouette. 0

I slept soundly that night, and by the fifth day, it was the day of my wedding with Xiao Juan. Early in the morning, we were called by Grandma Jiang, who made simple decorations inside and outside the house to make it look more festive. 0

However, amidst the celebration, there was an odd feeling in the air. 0

In addition to pasting auspicious characters on the door and windows, Grandma Jiang also had us stick numerous Yellow Talismans around the walls. 0

Needless to say, both Xiao Juan and I understood what this meant. 0

Grandma Jiang's intention was quite clear; these Yellow Talismans served no other purpose than to prevent Mu Yan from causing any disturbances. 0

Still, I didn't hesitate and followed her instructions to paste many of them up. 0

As the sun set down the mountain and dusk approached, everything was ready for the evening. 0

Grandma Jiang personally prepared a fairly lavish banquet. 0

Xiao Juan wore a red qipao, her face glowing with joy and her eyes sparkling as she stood opposite me. Grandma Jiang sat above us, the red candles flickering gently. 0

"Lin Hao, do you really want to marry me?" Xiao Juan asked softly as our gazes met. 0

I straightened my expression and replied earnestly, "Xiao Juan, what are you saying? Of course I want to marry you; I'm just afraid you won't marry me." 0

"Mm." Xiao Juan nodded slightly, a hint of a charming smile on her face, radiating happiness. 0

"Alright, you can be all lovey-dovey after the ceremony. For now, hurry up and offer a toast to your grandmother," Grandma Jiang said with a disapproving glance at us, her tone flat. 0

"Yes, Grandma," I quickly replied. 0

Xiao Juan lowered her head shyly. I reached for the two cups of wine that had already been prepared on the table, handing one to Xiao Juan while holding the other for Grandma Jiang. 0

Just as we were about to speak, Grandma Jiang's smile suddenly froze. Her gaze shifted outside, and her expression darkened instantly. 0

"Why do they come now, of all times, to ruin my granddaughter's good fortune? I won't let this go today," she said, her eyes glinting with coldness as she stared at the door. 0

Xiao Juan and I exchanged puzzled glances, frowning slightly at Grandma Jiang. 0

Xiao Juan called out in confusion, "Grandma..." 0

But before she could finish her sentence, a chilling wind swept in from outside, extinguishing the candles in the room. 0

"Xiao Juan, turn on the lights," Grandma Jiang commanded sharply as she stood up calmly and walked toward the courtyard. 0

Xiao Juan hesitated for a moment, her face filled with confusion, but she followed Grandma Jiang's instructions and lit up the room. 0

I watched Grandma Jiang for a moment before glancing outside and quickly following her. The strange wind that had just blown in was clearly unusual. 0

"It's you again." 0

The courtyard gate was not fully closed. As I stepped into the yard, I furrowed my brow at the figure entering through the open door, momentarily taken aback. 0

"It’s not me, it’s Mu Yan." The one who came was none other than Mao Shiba, who glanced at me and replied calmly. 0

"Mu Yan." 0

Upon hearing this, my brows furrowed tightly in anger as I said, "What does she want? Why does she have to keep entangling with me?" 0

"She is entangled with you." 0

Mao Shiba let out a cold laugh, his gaze sweeping over Grandma Jiang standing nearby, and he couldn't help but mockingly add, "If she doesn’t stop you today, you might regret it later." 0

"Regret? Mao Shiba, don’t you think what you’re saying is strange?" I retorted irritably. "I know you’ve always liked Xiao Juan, but she doesn’t like you at all, so you might as well give up." 0

"That’s right, I do like Xiao Juan." 0

Mao Shiba took a deep breath and looked behind me. At that moment, Xiao Juan had already walked out of the room. She heard Mao Shiba's words clearly; her expression was complex, and though she bit her lip, she remained silent. 0

Mao Shiba didn’t seem to mind. He said lightly, "But I won’t force her, nor will I use any underhanded methods to pressure anyone. As for you, Grandma Jiang, I wouldn’t dare make any assumptions." 0

Although Mao Shiba's words were not direct, they carried an underlying meaning that I caught onto. Before I could say more, Grandma Jiang snorted coldly and spoke first. 0

"Mao Shiba, if you're here to cause trouble, don’t blame me for being rude. Even if your Second Uncle comes by, I won’t show any mercy." 0

Mao Shiba smiled nonchalantly and said, "I’m not here to cause trouble; I just came to take a look. As for who is looking for trouble, that’s another matter." 0

With that, Mao Shiba turned abruptly and stood aside without saying another word. 0

At that moment, someone else walked in from outside. I looked over and frowned slightly as I said, "Mingyue, you’re here too. Is the person Mao Shiba mentioned who is looking for trouble you?" 0

I couldn't understand why it was so difficult for me to get married to Xiao Juan, and what reason Mingyue had to interfere. 0

But Mingyue shook her head as well, casting a glance at Grandma Jiang before silently standing beside Mao Shiba. 0

I looked curiously at Grandma Jiang, but her gaze was directed towards the dark sky above us. 0

A massive black cloud seemed to be spreading rapidly from the distance, moving with the speed of lightning. In an instant, it enveloped the sky, making our surroundings even darker and more ominous. 0

Both Xiao Juan and I raised our heads in terror, staring up at what loomed above us. 0

Soon, that black cloud coalesced into a gigantic shadow. It stopped moving and hung silently above us. 0

Gradually, it began to take on the shape of a face—a face filled with rage. 0

Those dark and cold eyes fell directly upon us, like two enormous black holes capable of swallowing us whole. 0
