My dog, Big Black, knows me well, so it couldn't possibly be barking at me. 0

But since the barking isn't directed at me and there's no one outside the door, who is it barking at? 0

And then there are the other dogs in the village barking too. 0

This left me feeling quite puzzled, and along with that confusion, a sense of unease began to creep into my mind. 0

I told my parents I was a bit bored and wanted to go for a walk. 0

They didn't pay much attention, but Mu Yan knew the real reason I had come back and followed me out. 0

As soon as we stepped outside, before I could say anything, Mu Yan calmly remarked, "The atmosphere in your village seems a bit off." 0

Her words immediately changed my expression, making me more serious. 0

I whispered, "You noticed it too?" 0

She nodded but remained silent. 0

I asked, "Can you tell what exactly feels off?" 0

She paused for a moment, then looked at me and said lightly, "Don't you feel a bit cold?" 0

Her comment caught me off guard, but now that she mentioned it, I did feel a slight chill and nodded in agreement. 0

She continued, "The Yin Qi in this village seems heavier than in other places." 0

"Yes, that's exactly it." 0

I suddenly understood. When I got out of the car, I felt that something was off, but it was already getting dark outside. 0

It was hard to tell at the time, but now that Mu Yan mentioned it, I realized she was right. 0

With Yin Qi rising, it made sense that I felt a chill in the air. 0

But what was with all the barking? 0

I couldn't figure it out, and when I asked Mu Yan, she couldn't answer either. So I took her hand and we walked into the village. 0

Following the outskirts of the village, we walked for a while, and almost every household's dog was barking wildly. 0

Yet outside of us, everyone else seemed to be either having dinner at home or watching TV after their meal. Who were these dogs barking at? 0

Perplexed, Mu Yan and I returned home. 0

I then asked my mom why Big Black kept barking incessantly. She casually replied that she didn't know either. It wasn't just our Big Black; all the dogs in the village were acting this way. During the day it was fine, but once night fell, they would bark non-stop until dawn. 0

My mom's words made my expression darken. Such unusual behavior couldn't be simple. 0

But no matter how much I thought about it, I couldn't figure out what the problem was. 0

Could it really be that Yang Yi had come for revenge before me? 0

This thought made me increasingly uneasy. 0

Yang Yi was an extremely dangerous person. If he truly came for revenge as Hu Family Immortal had said, how would I face him? 0

With a heavy heart, I spent that night restlessly. 0

The barking of dogs outside filled me with unease, especially as the night wore on. I noticed that the barking seemed to grow more ferocious in the latter half of the night. 0

I even rushed to open the door and take a look outside, but the area was empty, devoid of any human presence. With no other choice, I returned to my bed. 0

However, just before dawn, something happened that made me feel even more anxious. 0

The dozen or so chickens in our Chicken Coop suddenly became restless, squawking and flapping about wildly. Big Black was barking more fiercely than ever. 0

It was chaos among the chickens and dogs. 0

I immediately put on my clothes and got out of bed, my expression serious. My father did the same. 0

Seeing me up, my father remarked, "I don't know what's going on. Big Black has been barking non-stop these past few days, and now even these Yellow-feathered Chickens are restless. What could be happening?" 0

I didn't respond, but deep down I was certain that something was amiss in the village. 0

Yet, without solid evidence, I wasn't sure how to answer him. 0

Fortunately, it wasn't long until dawn. 0

When morning finally arrived, Big Black and the chickens in the Chicken Coop settled down. 0

I asked my father to check with our neighbors about their situation to see if it was similar to ours. Although he was puzzled, he went to ask around. When he returned, he looked somewhat speechless as he said that indeed it was the same; Old Wang's Chicken Coop next door hadn't been secured properly, and quite a few chickens had escaped. They found several dead ones outside the village in the morning. 0

"Dead? How did they die?" 0

I looked at my father with urgency. 0

My father paused for a moment, then replied, "It seems like something bit them to death. Some were even torn apart. It’s probably the work of the Wong Tai Sin." 0

The Wong Tai Sin he mentioned referred to the weasel, but after hearing his words, I didn’t quite agree. 0

With a serious expression, I found an excuse to head over to the place he described. The ground was littered with feathers and stained with blood; some of the bodies were completely shredded. I picked up one that hadn’t been torn apart and noticed two deep puncture wounds on its neck. 0

Zombie. 0

Could it really be a Zombie? 0

The scene before me instantly reminded me of a Zombie feeding, with those sharp fangs. 0

But if it truly was a Zombie causing this chaos, then it might be easier to handle, and I felt a bit relieved. 0

Compared to a Zombie, I was even less willing to face Yang Yi. 0

Because Yang Yi gave me the impression that his terror far surpassed that of any Zombie. 0

Moreover, based on what I had gleaned from Lark's Secret Record, the sounds of chickens and dogs barking indicated that this type of Zombie wasn’t very powerful. 0

At most, they were just some White-haired Zombies or Black-Furred Zombies. 0

These were the legendary Black and White Dual Demons; dealing with them seemed manageable enough. 0

So I sighed in relief and returned home, sharing my suspicions with my father. 0

Initially, he didn’t believe me, saying that in this day and age, where could Zombies possibly come from? 0

But seeing my serious demeanor and unwavering conviction, he began to take me seriously. I urged him to inform the other villagers to avoid going out after dark. 0

Most people simply laughed off my father's words, not taking them to heart at all. 0

I understood in my heart that if someone had told me in the past that there were likely zombies lurking in the village, I wouldn't have believed it either. 0

Because some things can only be seen as true after experiencing them firsthand. 0

That day, I made all the necessary preparations. After dinner, I sat quietly at home, waiting for nightfall. 0

At this point, I was certain that there were indeed zombies causing trouble in the village. As soon as it got dark and the dogs barked and the roosters crowed, I would head out to find those zombies. 0

But to my surprise, today was the exact opposite of what I expected. 0

When night fell, the dogs stopped barking, and the roosters ceased crowing. The big black dog in the yard lay on the ground, making faint whimpering sounds, its eyes seemingly filled with deep fear. 0

The entire village was eerily quiet compared to yesterday, with only occasional voices breaking the silence. 0

What on earth was happening? Had I guessed wrong? 0
