Yang Yi seemed equally surprised to see us here, standing before him. His gaze shifted towards us, and for a moment, he appeared taken aback, his expression filled with astonishment.
However, that surprise was fleeting; his face quickly darkened.
He fixed his cold stare on me and Mu Yan, saying, "You choose to ignore the path to heaven and barge into hell. It seems we truly are fated to meet."
His tone was low, and as he spoke, a faint smile crept onto his face.
Yet his words sent a jolt of alarm through me. Fated?
I would have preferred never to have crossed paths with him; if it were possible, I would have turned and walked away.
But now that I had encountered Yang Yi, that was clearly not an option.
"Yang Yi, what do you want? The last incident was entirely your own scheme; you brought this upon yourself. Are you trying to pin it on me?" I took a deep breath, meeting his gaze directly as I spoke.
Given the look on his face, it was clear that encountering him would not end well, so there was no need for pleasantries.
In response, he let out a cold laugh. "I brought this upon myself?"
"Isn't that the truth?" I retorted.
He didn’t answer but instead darkened his gaze further. "If it weren't for you two, how could I have harmed my Dao Heart and come to this remote place to recuperate, ending up in such a predicament?"
After a brief pause, he shifted his tone and a sinister grin appeared on his face. "But who would have thought I'd run into you here? This time, let's see who can save you."
"What do you want?" His words made my heart start to race with anxiety.
Yang Yi had once trapped Mu Yan with a formation, so she had a vivid memory of him. Now that he had appeared, her gaze was fixed on him, her expression cold and indifferent.
Yang Yi sneered, "What do I want?"
He continued, "It's simple. Of course, it's revenge."
As expected, he was after revenge. His words caused my expression to darken instantly, and I felt a wave of worry wash over me.
Although I didn't know what Yang Yi meant by Dao Heart, I could sense its significance from the snippets of conversation between Grandma Jiang and Mao Guoxue during our time in Jintan.

"So you are one of Unloading Gate's people," Yang Yi scoffed.
I could tell that upon learning Mingyue's identity, there was a hint of apprehension in Yang Yi's eyes.
Yet he still coldly warned, "This matter has nothing to do with you, nor with Unloading Gate. It is our personal grievance; I ask that you do not interfere."
After saying this, he fixed his gaze on Mingyue, quietly awaiting her response.
Mingyue paused for a moment but then shook her head.
"You intend to intervene," Yang Yi's tone turned even colder.
Mingyue replied softly, "If you plan to deal with them, I cannot stand by idly, for I am their friend."
Her resolute tone instantly relieved my heart.
With Mingyue's assistance, given her strength, even if Yang Yi was formidable, it would provide some assurance.
However, I still underestimated Yang Yi far too much.
Seeing that Mingyue was unfazed by his warning, Yang Yi said coldly, "Then don't blame me for being rude."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he shot forward like a bolt of lightning, charging straight towards me.
I was taken aback, not expecting Yang Yi to act so decisively without hesitation.

Mingyue also understood Yang Yi's intention upon hearing him, and her expression turned grave as she attempted to intervene and stop him from completing the incantation.
However, Yang Yi's strength was already on par with hers. If it weren't for the self-inflicted damage to his Dao Heart during the incident in Jintan, which had yet to fully recover, he might even be stronger than Mingyue. Thus, despite her determination to block him, it was futile.
In the end, Yang Yi completed the incantation. In an instant, an overwhelming and sinister aura emanated from him.
