I was startled and quickly stepped forward to steady him, looking at him with concern. Gu Chen shook his head, saying he was fine, just that he had summoned the Evil God earlier, which left him with some aftereffects. He then helped me sit down on the ground, saying he needed to rest for a while. I nodded, but deep down, I didn't believe it. From his appearance, it was clear that he was seriously injured this time; his face was pale, a trace of blood lingered at the corner of his mouth, and his spirit was waning—he no longer had the momentum he had just moments ago. He seemed even weaker than Mingyue! 0

But I didn't ask him about it because even if I did, there was nothing I could do. Instead, I curiously inquired about the Evil God, as the inhuman roar that had escaped his lips earlier truly puzzled and shocked me. Especially those bloodshot eyes of his, resembling a beast. 0

After a moment of recovery, Xiao Juan spoke up, "I know about that; let me tell you." My gaze turned to Xiao Juan as she continued, "From Uncle Gu's appearance, it seems that the Evil God he summoned just now should be from the Thirteenth Layer of Hell." 0

"The Thirteenth Layer of Hell? Xiao Juan, explain further," I said with confusion. 0

Xiao Juan nodded and elaborated, "Hell has eighteen layers, each filled with countless evil spirits undergoing various tortures. For instance, the first layer is the Tongue-Pulling Hell, the second is the Scissors Hell, and the third is the Iron Tree Hell. These evil spirits are trapped in Hell without any chance of reincarnation; they can only endure these tortures repeatedly. As time goes on, their resentment grows heavier and they become increasingly violent." She paused briefly to glance at Gu Chen before continuing, "After summoning the Evil God just now, Uncle Gu's eyes turned blood-red and were filled with a violent aura. That's why I suspect he summoned the Evil God from the Blood Pool Hell of the Thirteenth Layer." 0

I understood now. I had heard many elders speak about evil spirits being punished in Hell throughout my life, but I never thought it was all true. After hearing Xiao Juan's explanation, Gu Chen also nodded slightly. 0

Seeing that everyone was okay, Xiao Juan relaxed a bit and grinned at me. "So what do you think, Lin Hao? Am I smart?" 0

I nodded somewhat speechlessly but wasn't in the mood to dwell on it. Xiao Juan seemed to understand and shifted her focus back to Gu Chen. "Uncle Gu, what about Mu Yan's ghost?" 0

At her words, I immediately looked at Gu Chen as my concern for this issue surpassed even Xiao Juan's. Gu Chen glanced at me and said slowly, "Don't worry; she's fine. The moment I severely injured Mu Emperor and An Ye just now, I sealed her ghost into a talisman." 0

"Sealed her..." Gu Chen's words startled me; my eyes widened in shock. Seeing my expression change, he added reassuringly, "It's just a seal; it won't harm her. I'll release her once we go back." 0

I finally felt relieved and nodded in understanding. 0

"Cough cough..." Suddenly two light coughs broke the silence—it was Mingyue's Grandfather and Zhou Zhen waking up simultaneously and getting up from the ground. 0

"What happened?" Zhou Zhen stood up and walked over to see the scene before him; first surprised and then puzzled with a confused expression on his face. Mingyue's Grandfather turned slightly to sit on the ground and looked at Mingyue with a frown. "Mingyue?" 0

He seemed equally perplexed about how he ended up here. Mingyue furrowed her brows slightly but remained silent as she looked at him. Jin Zhongyun and Xiao Juan were both on high alert. Especially Zhou Zhen; upon seeing him, he gasped in shock and pointed at him exclaiming, "Senior Gu..." 0

Before he could finish his sentence, Gu Chen interrupted him: "It's fine; he's just who he is." 0

"Just who he is? What does that mean?" Zhou Zhen asked in confusion. 0

Zhou Zhen had been unconscious during everything that happened earlier and was unaware of what transpired after losing consciousness; all he remembered was before he fainted. So I quickly summarized everything that had happened for him. 0

Only then did Zhou Zhen seem to understand; he stared blankly at us with an even more shocked expression on his face. I imagined he hadn't expected that during his brief unconsciousness we would face two Demon Emperor-level terrifying beings! 0

"Go get her body down," Gu Chen instructed after resting for a moment while pointing at Mu Yan's body still hanging upside down from the rock wall. It took me a moment to react before nodding and rushing over. 0

Although Zhou Zhen had woken up, he still appeared somewhat weak. Xiao Juan came over to help me carry Mu Yan's body back to Gu Chen's side. 0

Gu Chen said we should rest for a while before leaving this place! Naturally, everyone agreed without objection; however, his gaze turned toward Mingyue's Grandfather. Despite looking pale, there was an underlying pressure emanating from him as he said lightly: "Even though Mu Emperor isn't occupying your body right now, you'd best not harbor any ill intentions; otherwise... given my current condition, you probably won't gain anything good either." 0

Gu Chen's words made us all scrutinize Mingyue's Grandfather closely—this hunched-over old man with white hair seemed harmless without the Demon Emperor possessing him; did he still have any abilities? 0

"He also hails from Exiled Ridge Lineage," Mingyue said indifferently. 0

Her words sent a jolt through me; if that were true, we really needed to be cautious! Just based on Mingyue alone could give me an idea of Unloading Gate's power. 0

Mingyue's Grandfather paid no mind to our scrutiny; he merely chuckled softly before falling silent again. 0

Fortunately for us, our return journey was relatively uneventful compared to our entrance into this place. Although we encountered those drowned corpses in the water again, thanks to Gu Chen’s talismans and Zhou Zhen being able to handle one or two of them as well, we managed to exit the cave safely. 0

By the time we returned home it was nearly dawn; inside the cave Mu Yan’s body was carried by me and Xiao Juan. However once we reached the hotel that wouldn’t work—no one would allow someone to carry a corpse inside! 0

But sometimes Mao Shan Technique works wonders—a talisman here and some incantations there allowed her body to follow Mingyue into the hotel under her control until we reached our room. It looked as if she were walking normally—slowly moving along without any expression on her face; aside from being emotionless she appeared no different from any living person. 0

If one didn’t look closely enough it would be hard to tell this was a corpse! 0

Once outside of the cave Mingyue’s Grandfather left on his own accord. After entering our room Gu Chen instructed everyone to rest well while he himself appeared quite weak too. However seeing my worried expression as if wanting to say something yet hesitating made him finally say: “You don’t need to worry; tomorrow we’ll find a place where her body can merge with her ghost—then you’ll have a new Mu Yan.” 0

What? Merge her body with her ghost? A new Mu Yan? 0

Gu Chen’s words left me stunned in place! But after saying that he turned away without another word and closed his door tightly behind him. 0
