It was evident that both the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor recognized me. At that moment, I had a strong feeling that the Demon King's Cauldron within me was definitely connected to these two powerful Demon Emperors. Their gazes felt like two venomous snakes; any slight movement on my part would result in being swallowed whole, alive. But it wasn't just me who had escaped from that circle; Xiao Juan, Mingyue, and Jinzongyun had also rushed out. I couldn't tell what they were thinking, but without hesitation, I charged toward Gu Chen ahead of me. But at that moment, Gu Chen coughed twice and spat out two mouthfuls of foul blood. He took a few steps forward, looking somewhat weak but fixing his gaze on the two Demon Emperors.
"Truly worthy of being the strongest among the Nine Veins. Although I don't know what you summoned earlier, you can still stand and walk now; you Gu Chen are indeed impressive." It was clear that both the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor were slightly surprised to see Gu Chen still able to stand.
"Is Master alright?" A smile instantly appeared on my face; Gu Chen's earlier appearance had truly frightened me.
Hearing my voice, Gu Chen glanced over and nodded lightly as if reassuring me. Then his gaze returned to the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor, those terrifying figures shrouded in thick black mist.
"Mu Emperor, Dark Night," he spoke calmly. In that instant, his tone sharpened again as a powerful aura naturally emanated from him. As this aura rose, I noticed that both the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor's surrounding Ghostly Energy fluctuated slightly before their attention focused entirely on Gu Chen.
"Gu Chen, will you retreat or not?" The Mu Emperor's voice rang out again with a question.
"Retreat..." Gu Chen replied without changing his expression or losing his momentum, simply uttering one word.
"Good, good! If you retreat, everything can be discussed." The Mu Emperor chuckled lightly, his tone eerie yet clearly relieved by Gu Chen's single word of retreat.
The Dark Night Ghost Emperor added, "Take them away too; I'm not interested."
I gritted my teeth and glanced at Mu Yan's corpse before looking at Mu Yan floating behind the Dark Night Ghost Emperor. Finally, my gaze returned to Gu Chen. I remained silent because I understood that perhaps there was something about Gu Chen that both the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor feared. However, leaving now might be the best choice since Gu Chen's condition did not look good at all.
Gu Chen said nothing but looked at me calmly before slowly walking toward us. Each step seemed incredibly heavy. Suddenly, I felt the pressure on me vanish completely; a wave of relief washed over me as my body regained its freedom. Without hesitation, I moved toward Gu Chen's side. However, he waved his hand to signal me to stay put.
But just as he waved his hand, a flash of silver light suddenly pierced through the air—so bright that it blinded both Xiao Juan and me as well as Mingyue and Jinzongyun. We instinctively closed our eyes. In that instant, a thunderous sound echoed in our ears.
What was happening? What was going on? This confusion surged within us as we tried to open our eyes but found them stubbornly shut. Then we heard two screams.
"Gu Chen! You bastard! You actually betrayed us..."
"Gu Chen! Remember this night!"
I recognized their voices as belonging to the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor. This only deepened my confusion—what had Gu Chen done to provoke such fear and anger from them? Slowly opening my eyes revealed a much clearer view around me. Although dusk was settling in and night was approaching fast, there was no longer that chilling Yin Qi feeling.
Where were the Mu Emperor and the Dark Night Ghost Emperor? Their figures had vanished completely! But what about Mu Yan? My gaze searched around; aside from Gu Chen standing there with an unchanged expression, there were no other figures present.
"Master... what happened?" The scene left me dumbfounded. Except for Mingyue who seemed to understand something, Xiao Juan and Jinzongyun looked at Gu Chen with puzzled expressions, unsure of what had transpired in that fleeting moment.
"The Mount Tai Pressing Down," Mingyue suddenly spoke softly.
Mount Tai Pressing Down? What did that mean? At her words, we all turned our gazes toward her. Mingyue continued coldly: "Mount Tai Pressing Down is a talisman."
After saying this, she looked at Gu Chen and fell silent again.

"Was it that silver light?" I asked in surprise.

I nodded; Mao Shiba had mentioned this before—the ranks of talismans ranged from ordinary yellow talismans to more commonly used ones while higher-level ones included blue runes, purple runes, silver runes, and gold runes.
At this moment, Gu Chen added: "Mount Tai Pressing Down is a silver talisman."
A silver talisman... His words sent a shiver down my spine; when Mao Shiba had taken out a purple Purple Thunder Evil Sword Spell talisman before it had made even the Mysterious Ghost King tremble with fear. Now Gu Chen had used a Silver Rune—it made sense why they would retreat so easily.
Yet doubts lingered in my mind; could even a Silver Rune truly make two Demon Emperors back down? Before I could ask further questions, however, after finishing his sentence, Gu Chen suddenly lurched forward and collapsed onto the ground with a loud thud!
