I had no idea what the place that He Si and Gu Chen were talking about was, but when I heard He Si mention encountering Mu Yan's ghost, my heart tightened.
However, I never expected that the final outcome would be that a shadow had taken her away.
The words "shadow" and "taken away" made me frown slightly. I turned to He Si, my brows furrowing in disbelief as I asked, "Shadow? Are you saying it's the same shadow Fourth Brother mentioned last time?"
He Si nodded indifferently, and Gu Chen also frowned slightly as he looked at He Si and asked, "What happened?"
He Si explained that when he left Tai'an, he went to the place Gu Chen mentioned to search for Mu Yan, and indeed, he found her.

But Gu Chen did not elaborate. Instead, he turned his attention back to He Si and asked, "So the reason you came to Chengdu was because of Mu Yan's corpse?"
"Yes," He Si nodded and said. "At that time, I was just about to leave when I accidentally discovered Mu Yan's body. I intended to take it away, but that mysterious person got there first and took it. So I followed them all the way here."
As he spoke, He Si sighed and continued, "But that person's movements were too elusive, and their skills were extraordinary. Although I tracked them here, I ended up getting injured and didn't even catch a glimpse of their face."

Gu Chen remained silent, but it was clear he was thinking along the same lines. He then asked about He Si's condition with concern.
