After Ferland finished the beer in one gulp, the other members of the dwarf team looked at his expression, all showing a look of longing. One by one, they began to plead with Ferland, each with different requests and entreaties.
First was Glende, who stood in front of Ferland and lightly patted his own throat while saying, "Hey, Ferland old buddy, I'm dying of thirst, can you lend me a sip, just one sip!" His eyes were full of expectation, as if just being able to taste a sip of beer would satisfy him.
Next is Holm, who walked up to Ferland and made grumbling sounds while sticking out his tongue, like a thirsty dog. His eyes were shining, as if beer was more important to him than water.
Brolin then walked up to Ferland, clasped his hands together, and pleaded, "Oh, Mr. Ferland, do you know that you are our savior? Only you can quench our thirst. Please have mercy on our poor throats!" His expression was devout, as if he were praying.
Finally, it's Sleendro, who is smiling and patting Ferland on the shoulder, saying, "Brother, don't be so indifferent to us. You know we are a team and should share everything. Give me a little, just a little!" His smile is bright, but there is also a hint of temptation in his eyes.
Everyone's requests are filled with sincerity and longing, as if a sip of beer is such a precious treasure to them.
Ferland's smile made everyone feel uneasy, especially when he said, "As much beer as you want, but can you afford the price?" His voice turned sinister and low, as if there was some hidden intent.
Glen was the first to muster the courage to ask, "What is the price?" His voice was filled with curiosity and caution, knowing that the dwarf warlock's magic often came with strange demands.
Ferland squinted, swaying the beer in his hand, and replied, "The price, well, it's not a big deal, just..." He deliberately paused, letting the suspense linger in the air.
Holm impatiently said, "Don't drag it out, Ferland, we're all thirsty, just say what you want."
Ferland responded with a smile, "The cost? It's not a big deal, just a beer and three gold coins."
Everyone widened their eyes, three gold coins? Glen indignantly said, "A beer at 'YoHo Bar' is only fifty cents, and you want three gold coins!"
Holm then said, "Under such a beautiful scenery, this place is much better than the crowded and messy 'YoHo Bar.' Besides, only my bar is open here!" He then laughed evilly, obviously mocking Glen.
As everyone gathered and whispered, discussing something, Ferland intentionally yawned, catching everyone's attention.
He smiled and said, "Hurry up, or the tavern will close."
Glen turned around and asked helplessly, "Can I put it on credit?" He seemed somewhat troubled by the cost, but didn't want to miss this rare opportunity.
Ferland smiled and took out a promissory note from his magic pocket. It read, "Borrower: Glende, Holm, Brolin, Sleendro; Lender: Ferland; Amount: ; Repayment period: unlimited." He smirked evilly and said, "No problem, you guys enjoy your drinks first, we'll settle the bill later." His words relieved everyone, knowing they could enjoy the beer first.
With that, he took out five cups of beer from his pocket, and everyone laughed and toasted to Ferland, continuously flattering him.
Glen wiped his mouth and said, "Ferland, you are truly our savior! I have never enjoyed a drink more than this one!"
Holm patted his chest and said, "That's right, this place is much more comfortable than 'YoHo Bar.' Thank you, Ferland!"
Brolin shook his head and added with a smile, "We are so lucky to have such a generous wizard friend like you!"
Sleendro tightly gripping his wine glass, said excitedly, "Let's raise this glass to our friendship!"
The dwarves sat on the platform of the cliff, the sound of beer mugs clinking filled the entire scene. They drank and reveled, laughter echoing in the valley.
Everyone kept pouring Ferland, and Ferland gladly accepted. His face quickly turned red, and his eyes became a bit hazy. He began telling some absurd and humorous jokes, making everyone burst into laughter.
Glen raised his glass and shouted loudly, "To Ferland, our wizard friend!"
Holm and Brolin raised their glasses and cheered loudly together. Sleendro began humming a dwarven song, and the others joined in singing along.
Ferland became more intoxicated in the singing and laughter, picking up his glass and fumbling with it unsteadily. His mind was already somewhat fuzzy, and he shook his head to indicate that he couldn't go on and hoped to rest for a while. However, his dwarf friends had no intention of stopping there, continuing to urge Ferland on and not letting him leave the party.
In the end, Ferland was forced to give in, picking up the cup and drinking one after another, the alcohol quickly disappearing down his throat. He felt dizzy, but continued to speak unclear words, as if boasting about his magical abilities.
"The strongest dwarf warlock, hahaha! The first warlock!" he muttered to himself, his voice trembling. Finally, unable to bear the burden, he fell to the floor, sinking into a deep drunken slumber.
Everyone laughed, and Glen joked, "This foolish warlock thinks our money is so easy to deceive! One cup, three coins! What a fool!" He couldn't help but puff out his chest, as if proud of his own wisdom.
Brolin continued, "Alright, forget about him. Hurry up and check his pockets. We need to be at the ceremony location tomorrow. Take it easy for now!" His tone was relaxed, as if he didn't care much about Ferland's little trick.
Sleendro suddenly realized during this journey that the usually calm and composed Crystar Brolin was actually the kind of person who would do anything for alcohol. He couldn't help but nod and smile, feeling somewhat surprised by this new discovery, but at the same time, he felt that his team was even more colorful and diverse.
