Ruins Underground Palace
The term flashed through everyone's minds, leaving them somewhat puzzled by its meaning.
Why is it called the Ruins Underground Palace?
However, as their vision cleared once more, everyone couldn't help but feel a sense of shock at what lay before them.
This so-called underground palace was nothing less than a lavish noble mansion. Yet, due to the long years spent buried underground, it had lost its former glory and was now covered in the marks of time.
Perhaps, long ago, it was a luxurious palace!
But over the years, something significant must have happened that caused this once-prosperous palace to sink into this lightless underground, aging into its current state.
"Fifty meters ahead, there's movement!"
The Terminator of Regrets utilized his assassin's investigative skills, darting forward like a whirlwind. By the time his voice echoed through the team channel, he was already twenty meters ahead of Yi Tianchen and the others.
"It seems like just a corridor!"
Liu Yuhan observed the surroundings closely, raising her weapon, Shattered Dream, with an arrow already nocked. Given the uncertainty of this underground palace and the difficulty of entering, they needed to proceed with caution: "Let's probe further and see what's going on!"
"President was right; this is indeed a corridor—a corridor leading to the Underground Hall. Its total length is likely around a kilometer, with nearly twenty waves of monsters stationed along the way. Basically, there will be a wave of monsters every fifty meters or so," The Terminator of Regrets's voice rang out again.
At the same time, specific monster attributes were posted:
Dungeon Guardian: Elite-level Monster
Level: 115
Attack: 9000–10500
Defense: 9550
Health: 180000
Skills: [Raging Wind Slash], [Death Roar], [Loyalty]
As the former guard of the West Liang City Lord, Asvor, they had chosen to remain loyal until death a thousand years ago on a fateful night when they learned of their master's demise. In the dark underground palace, they gradually lost their fiery essence, clinging only to the last remnants of their devotion, ultimately becoming undead beings, yet still remembering their past loyalty.
**Loyalty**: Automatically activates upon entering battle, passively increases all attributes by 10. There is a certain chance to resurrect on the spot upon death.
...
"Damn, this Loyalty skill is pretty good. I hope it drops," One-Handed Riding in the Sky exclaimed.
Indeed, the skill's effect was quite impressive, as it had no time limitations whatsoever. This meant that as long as one did not die, the increase in all attributes would persist indefinitely. Although the resurrection was described with a "certain chance," it was merely an unexpected hope.
Who would truly rely on such a chance to win in battle?
"Confirming there are no other variables, let's go straight into the fight!" Yi Tianchen finally made up his mind.
"Alright!"
One-Handed Riding in the Sky charged ahead, while Proud Dragon had already sent an arrow toward the nearest Dungeon Guardian. Yesterday's Fireworks cast a wide-area spell immediately, and Fallen Feather in the Sky, with its sharp speed, raced forward just slightly behind One-Handed Riding in the Sky, swinging a longsword that sent one Dungeon Guardian flying.
"35750!"
"25687!"
"20057!"
"35774!"
Damage numbers popped up one after another. These Dungeon Guardians were not much stronger than Rockface Hunters, especially in front of Yi Tianchen and his companions; they couldn't stir up much of a storm.
Yi Tianchen rushed forward, unleashing Dragon's Roar—
Fire Rune (35) Thousand Souls Split (150)!
Having collected the highest level of Fire Rune, infused with the AOE skill Thousand Souls Split, it instantly covered all the Dungeon Guardians ahead. With its powerful attack, a flurry of bright red damage numbers soared into the air, accompanied by a chorus of anguished screams.
"Damn, the boss is hogging all the kills, there's no chance for us!"
Yesterday's Fireworks had just raised her staff, preparing to cast another spell, but before she could even begin, Yi Tianchen executed a timely and forceful Thousand Souls Split, leaving nothing but a field of monster corpses behind.
Meanwhile, Liu Yuhan and Mu Wanqing followed closely behind.
Faced with such overwhelming destructive power, they didn't need to lift a finger. Under the guidance of Yi Tianchen and the others, this so-called corridor, designated by The Terminator of Regrets and stretching nearly a thousand meters with twenty waves of monsters, was cleared in less than twenty minutes.
The Terminator of Regrets laughed heartily: "With your efficiency in clearing monsters, flipping this dungeon upside down would only take a few minutes!"
"Too bad there’s no boss!" One-Handed Riding in the Sky lamented.
"This is just the beginning; there will definitely be a boss, and it will be a tough one!"
With a flick of his wrist, Yi Tianchen unleashed Dragon's Roar, causing chains to clank as he hoisted them onto his shoulder.
At that moment, at the end of what they called a corridor stood a towering door made entirely of Bronze. Just looking at it felt heavy and solid.
Proud Dragon stepped forward and pushed hard, but it didn’t budge an inch.
"Damn it, let’s try again…" Proud Dragon said, feeling somewhat Speechless. He was built for strength; aside from Yi Tianchen, he had the highest strength attribute among them. Yet even he couldn’t make any progress against the massive Bronze Door.
"Could there be some kind of mechanism?"
One-Handed Riding in the Sky wondered aloud but moved forward nonetheless. The two pushed against the door together but still achieved no movement. Seeing this, Fallen Feather in the Sky and The Terminator of Regrets joined in as well. They managed to create only a small gap, leaving all four of them exhausted from the effort.
"Damn it, this thing has no mechanism..."
The absence of a mechanism meant that this was just an ordinary door, albeit one made entirely of Bronze, heavy to an excessive degree. It also meant that opening this Bronze Door could only rely on human strength.
"Step aside!"
Yi Tianchen furrowed his brow; pushing like this wouldn't work. He swung the Dragon's Roar in his hand, and a chilling aura surged from the blade, rising into a swirling blue glow as if a giant dragon was coiling around it—
"Boom!"
With a powerful strike, the sword struck the Bronze Door directly.
At the same time, a strong recoil hit him, and Yi Tianchen felt a tingling in his arm. However, the gap in the Bronze Door widened significantly. He immediately followed up with several more strikes, channeling immense force until he managed to open the Bronze Door nearly thirty centimeters wide.
In the next moment, everyone entered one by one...
