Liu Yuhan felt a pain in her heart like never before.
At this moment, the two most important men in her life stood before her: one was her biological father, Liu Tianlong, and the other was Yi Tianchen, who had helped her without hesitation during her most helpless and lonely times.
Yet, these two men stood on opposing sides!
This left her feeling utterly helpless, and it was the last scene she wanted to witness. She wanted to say something but found herself swallowing her words time and again. She did not want either of them to be harmed in any way.
“Ha ha…”
A sudden burst of laughter shattered the tense silence. Liu Tianlong looked at Yi Tianchen with a strange expression and said, “Let’s go! I want you to meet someone.”
Yi Tianchen was taken aback!
This was completely unexpected. What was Liu Tianlong up to? Who did he want him to meet?
Soon, a half-conscious person was brought in!
The man appeared to be in his early twenties and seemed to have received some special treatment prior. He looked like a limp noodle, collapsing to the ground as soon as the two people supporting him let go, occasionally letting out pained groans.
“Dad, who is he?”
Liu Tianlong smiled slightly but did not directly answer Liu Yuhan's question. Instead, he turned to Yi Tianchen and said seriously, “Huan'er doesn’t remember him, but I’m sure you do.”
“I would recognize him even if he turned to ashes!”
Liu Yuhan was momentarily stunned, but she quickly noticed that Yi Tianchen, who appeared calm, had tightly clenched his fists. As surprise filled her heart, a scene flashed through her mind, and she realized, “Tianchen, could it be that he was the one who ambushed us outside the Sea of Love café that day?”
“Exactly!”
Yi Tianchen took a deep breath and, while nodding, ultimately relaxed his clenched fist. Perhaps, by all accounts, he should have hated this person to the bone, but in the end, he chose to let it go; after all, this individual was merely a hired thug.
Moreover, that blow had helped him regain lost memories!
Even now, recalling that moment sent shivers down Yi Tianchen's spine, but the person he truly wanted to find was the mastermind behind this thug.
"Don't you want to know who is behind him?" Liu Tianlong asked with a mysterious smile.
"No need!"
Yi Tianchen chuckled. "It's so obvious; is there really a need to ask? All I need to do is piece together the events, and the instigator will become clear. However, I won't settle the score with him in the same way!"
"Good!"
Liu Tianlong nodded in satisfaction. He looked at Liu Yuhan, who seemed to be piecing everything together, and said seriously, "Huan'er, go ahead and do what you need to do. The entire Liu Group is your strongest backing, and Dad has even left you a trump card in the King."
A trump card left in the King?
Both Liu Yuhan and Yi Tianchen were taken aback. Liu Tianlong's words were quite revealing. Clearly, long before Liu Yuhan proposed her bet with Zeng Jian, Liu Tianlong had already been wary of Zeng Group and had placed a piece beside Zeng Jian early on.

Yi Tianchen forced a bitter smile. With things having developed this far, he already had an answer in his heart. The ensuing struggle was no longer just between Mist of Time and King studios; it was a life-and-death battle between the entire Liu Group and Zeng Group.

Gazing at the shimmering river surface, Yi Tianchen's mood was in turmoil. After that longest lunch of his life, he and Liu Yuhan had come to the riverside and stayed there for an entire afternoon.
Liu Yuhan remained silent.
In truth, she wanted to say sorry, but she understood even more clearly that a simple apology meant nothing. Yi Tianchen was different from anyone else in her heart; she wanted to untangle the knot that bound his heart at this moment.
“Tianchen…”
Liu Yuhan hesitated, a hint of helplessness in her bright eyes. She forced a bitter smile and said, “Let’s forget about that! We… we can still be like before, right?”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine!”
Yi Tianchen smiled calmly. Although Liu Tianlong had given him a wake-up call this time, he understood well what Liu Tianlong truly meant. It was a reminder for him to maintain enough distance from Liu Yuhan, conveying the message that some distances and heights were not something he could casually cross or reach.
“Are you really okay?”
A hint of shyness flickered in Liu Yuhan's beautiful eyes as she seemed to talk to herself, “Actually, I understand what my dad is trying to say, but I am me; he cannot replace me. Just like how he opposed me back then, I still made that bet with Zeng Jian, didn’t I?”
Yi Tianchen was taken aback!
He looked at her, and waves of emotion surged within him. Liu Yuhan’s words couldn’t have been clearer; if he didn’t understand now, he would be a fool.
Who would believe that Yi Tianchen had no other thoughts about Liu Yuhan?
But he knew better; this girl before him was like a beautiful and sacred angel. He would never use any excuse or means to win her favor. He could give everything for her, but she would always remain untouchable in his heart!
“Do you know what your dad meant by those last words?” Yi Tianchen asked.
“I know!”
Liu Yuhan answered solemnly, and Yi Tianchen was momentarily taken aback. It made sense; someone as clever as Liu Yuhan would surely understand. Liu Tianlong revealed his most secret card: he had already been preparing and taking action against the Zeng Group in the shadows, without mentioning Yi Tianchen again.
He wanted to convey to Yi Tianchen that even without him, the Zeng Group would still be doomed!
“Tianchen, some things are better left unspoken,” Liu Yuhan said with a light smile, her dimples showing. She had made her feelings clear; she wanted him to know that he could risk everything for her, just as she could do the same for him.
Yi Tianchen nodded!
Indeed, after spending the afternoon together, Yi Tianchen's stomach began to grumble. He hadn’t eaten much for lunch because he simply couldn’t stomach it. Moreover, he took it upon himself to gather some simple grilling tools and essential seasonings, becoming a barbecue chef for Liu Yuhan.
“This is the best barbecue I’ve ever had!” Liu Yuhan exclaimed, looking at Yi Tianchen like an innocent girl who knew nothing of the world. He smiled and said, “When I have money in the future, I’ll buy this place and grill for you every day!”
“It’s a promise!”
“Absolutely!”
