General's Tomb
The generous experience rewards allowed Liu Yuhan and others to receive varying returns or level upgrades. Just as Proud Dragon had said before, after claiming 50% of the boss's experience alone, Yi Tianchen's title of Level First Person was once again solidified.
However, everyone was surprised to find that the Purple Gold Boss, Obsession Spirit Kylon, had not dropped anything at all—not even a single copper coin.
As the crowd puzzled over this, the corpse of Obsession Spirit Kylon suddenly emitted a circle of black light. Within just a few seconds, it transformed into a ring of Black Ash right before their eyes, disappearing without a trace.
"What the hell! What's going on?" Proud Dragon shouted.
The corpse turning into Black Ash seemed to be a first in Yi Tianchen and his friends' gaming careers. But upon closer inspection, the Black Ash did not disperse; instead, it slowly began to gather towards the center as if drawn by a powerful gravitational force.
In an instant, everyone widened their eyes in disbelief.
The Black Ash continued to condense until it ultimately formed a three-inch-sized diamond-shaped crystal. After a brief moment of silence, it erupted with a dazzling aquamarine glow, shimmering and swaying as if it possessed some kind of spirit, floating in mid-air.
"Uh... what is this thing?"
The Terminator of Regrets was somewhat speechless. A formidable Level 60 Purple Gold Boss had left behind this seemingly impressive yet potentially dubious object. He asked in astonishment, "Has anyone seen this before? What exactly is it?"
"Elemental Fragment!"
Yi Tianchen's voice rang out with excitement as he stepped forward and reached out to grasp the floating aquamarine crystal in his palm.
Elemental Fragment: Water Fragment!
Now, three pieces of the Elemental Fragment—Metal, Wood, and Water—are in hand. Only the Fire and Earth fragments remain, and it seems that I must find the two locations mentioned by Lord Dolan of South Wilderness City to have a chance at obtaining them. Unfortunately, those two places are near Xiliang City and Dongli City, making it difficult to act in the short term.
Next, Yi Tianchen briefly introduced the matter of the Elemental Fragment to Proud Dragon and The Terminator of Regrets, succinctly recounting some details about Imperial Princess Elena. The crowd listened in stunned silence.
Everyone began to exchange thoughts, actively exercising their vocabulary for a good ten minutes before returning to the present.
"Um... Fallen Wood Boss, shouldn't you say something to us?"
The Terminator of Regrets recalled the earlier Ethereal Shadow Step and found it hard to accept. Although no one explicitly stated the issue at hand, everyone present understood it privately. A hush fell over the group as they awaited Yi Tianchen's response.
"Hehe..."
Yi Tianchen chuckled but then fell silent.
How should he put it?
While this was indeed something to be extremely proud of, Yi Tianchen had long passed the age of seeking pride and glory. Should he simply say, "Yes, I am indeed the legendary God of War who conquers all"?
Well! It is impressive, but also quite childish!
As Yi Tianchen pondered this, everyone else was waiting expectantly. Liu Yuhan stepped forward and said solemnly and calmly, "You guessed correctly, Tianchen. He is Lutian Shafa from three years ago, who once challenged the entire world single-handedly as the God of War. But... that is all in the past."
"That's right; that is all in the past!"
Yi Tianchen took the conversation, looking at Liu Yuhan before him, and calmly said, "I am just an Ordinary Member of Mist of Time now. For tomorrow, for the Guild, and for myself, I am no different from any of you present."
"There should be applause here!"
The voice of The Terminator of Regrets gently echoed, followed by enthusiastic clapping from everyone. As someone who had once been admired by countless people as the God of War, to speak such plain words and lower his own status required more than just courage!
"Yes! The boss is right, for tomorrow, for the Guild, and for ourselves!" Li Tielong said excitedly.
"Hehe, since the First Person is the former God of War, perhaps those two fellows will agree to join Rainy Years Guild; they have always admired the God of War!" Proud Dragon chuckled, but his words immediately caught the attention of Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan.
"When we have time, let's arrange a meeting!"
Yi Tianchen smiled slightly. Anyone recommended by Proud Dragon would surely be capable. Now that Mist and Rain Commerce had been established and was slowly getting on track, it was time to start building the Mist Rain Flowing Years Mercenary Group and develop towards upgrading to a Guild.
"Boss, what should we do next?" Li Tielong asked.
"Our mercenary group is only at level 3; we must quickly raise it to level 5 and then upgrade to a Guild. Now that Chamber has shown some progress, it's time to establish our Guild. Therefore, we need to take a three-pronged approach for joint development."
"First, the official opening of Chamber and the preparations for the auction and arena cannot stop; second, we must fully develop the mercenary group in preparation for upgrading to a Guild, but we won't consider expanding Guild membership just yet; third, Liu Yuhan as President must ensure that Level does not fall behind."
Not a Master stroked his chin and chuckled, "At this rate, it seems that Mist of Time's rise to prominence in Zero Era won't be too far off."
Liu Yuhan smiled and said, "In any case, this will be our goal moving forward. However, we shouldn't be overly optimistic; after all, there are too many unknown factors that may arise when we least expect them. We must proceed cautiously and lay a solid foundation as our only strategy."
"Since we've made up our minds, let's start our mission tomorrow. It's getting late now, so after we log off and rest, those who want to continue can enjoy some free time. We'll meet at nine o'clock tomorrow!"
"Hey, that sounds great!"
...
Night Eleven o'clock.
As the group exited the General's Tomb, the entire Grave Mound Mountain remained lively, with the sounds of fierce battles echoing in the air. However, in front of Yi Tianchen and his team of twelve, the opposing players kept their distance; upon spotting a red name, they quickly took a detour.
Once they left Grave Mound Mountain, the journey back to town became much easier. Initially planning to use a return scroll, Yi Tianchen reconsidered. Since they had rented a carriage, it would be wasteful to use the scroll. After all, renting a carriage was quite expensive, while a return scroll only cost one gold coin—such wastefulness was something anyone would hesitate over.
However...
Yi Tianchen did not travel with Liu Yuhan and the others; instead, he veered off after a short distance and headed towards the Thousand Wood Forest Camp.
The task assigned by Lord Dolan of South Wilderness City was still unfinished!
