At seven in the evening, Mist and Rain Studio.
Dinner had been delivered for a good twenty minutes, and in the chilly January air, Liu Yuhan glanced repeatedly at the door marked "4," but no one emerged.
"Should I... go call out?" As the only male in the studio besides Yi Tianchen, he felt it was his duty to step up bravely.
"Never mind, let's eat first!" Liu Yuhan said.
Just as she was about to pick up her chopsticks, the door creaked open. Everyone turned their heads to see Yi Tianchen frowning, leaning against the door frame as if all his strength had been drained. He staggered to the dining table and weakly said, "Sorry to keep you waiting."
"What... what happened?" Li Tielong's eyes widened in shock. It was just a game, right? How could it feel like he had run a thirty-kilometer marathon? He looked utterly exhausted.
Yi Tianchen forced a smile; it seemed even more tiring than running a marathon!
Over a thousand deaths, each movement covering 20 to 25 yards. The key was that every time he had to concentrate all his energy—positioning, predicting, sprinting, rolling… every action strained every part of his body. In holographic mode, it naturally took a toll on both body and mind.

"But... does that Blood Phantom Alliance really still exist?" Mu Wanqing expressed her concerns.
"The information conveyed by the NPCs in the game should be reliable," Yi Tianchen said, taking a sip of the already cold ginkgo duck soup, his tone slightly mysterious. The warm dinner was spent in a cozy atmosphere. After returning to their rooms, they continued to log back online...
Reappearing amidst the rolling yellow sands, Yi Tianchen noticed that it was already night, and the temperature around him had dropped significantly. In such desert terrain, both the game and reality reflected a consistent correspondence—there was a vast difference between day and night temperatures. However, the starry sky was exceptionally clear, a typical sight of sparse moonlight.
Glancing at the time, Yi Tianchen couldn't help but feel speechless. The time spent offline had surprisingly counted against his limited time. This meant that the twenty-four-hour limit did not solely refer to game time; offline time was included as well.
This was indeed a disheartening discovery. If he couldn't find a way out of this desert quickly and locate the Blood Phantom Alliance, Yi Tianchen feared he wouldn't be able to sleep tonight. Losing all that time in his dreams would undoubtedly test his endurance.
But as he looked around, Yi Tianchen noticed something else—perhaps it was because it was nighttime, but the scorpions that had been lurking beneath the sand were now emerging. At this moment, they were wandering in their respective territories, and several nearby had already set their sights on Yi Tianchen.
As he surveyed the seemingly endless desert, he saw massive scorpions everywhere. They moved their powerful limbs through the sand, creating a rustling sound. Their two prominent eyes glimmered with a chilling light, and their raised pincers clicked ominously.
"Hey, this is truly a stroke of luck!"
Yi Tianchen stroked his chin, an involuntary smile forming at the corners of his mouth. Clearly, compared to hidden enemies lurking in the shadows, these visible foes would be much easier to deal with; after all, everyone could see each other clearly.
After determining his position, Yi Tianchen charged forward...
Turning left, his footsteps carved a clear imprint in the yellow sand. He pivoted right, accelerating as he twisted his body to the left, activating the skill Savage Charge. Listening to what should have been an exhilarating notification, Yi Tianchen felt anything but uplifted. Gaining a skill upgrade in such a manner was hardly something to be proud of; how many times had he died? Yi Tianchen could hardly remember anymore.
However, the upgrade meant that the effective range had increased from 20 yards to 30 yards. What previously required three attempts could now be accomplished in just two, significantly reducing the precious time needed for his escape in the desert.
With renewed determination, Yi Tianchen began again…
“Chop…”
Venomous Stinger Lv-8! MISS!
The Scorpion's tail stinger not only strikes with incredible Speed, but its accuracy cannot be overlooked either. Every time it reveals its twenty-centimeter-long venomous spike, Yi Tianchen feels a chill run down his spine. After resting his legs for a moment and roughly calculating his route, Yi Tianchen immediately launched into the final sprint of one hundred meters. The Scorpion relentlessly pursued him with its deadly tail raised high, the needle-like venomous stinger whistling through the air. Just a slight brush would mean certain death.
“Bang!”
In one last leap, using nearly all his strength, he felt the ground give way beneath him. The scent of wild grass filled his nostrils; the cursed desert was finally left behind.
Yi Tianchen laughed heartily!
