Ruinous Ridge, an undeveloped hot land!
This is a training map rich in Undead Skeleton Monsters, with the main foe being the level 45 Skeleton Knight, known for its high attack and low defense, not to mention its shameless speed. Although it has yet to be developed due to its level, it has already become a hotspot for ranged class players.
When Yi Tianchen and his companions made their way to Ruinous Ridge, they could hear a chilling wail from afar that sent shivers down their spines. There was no doubt about it; this must be some boss, caught in a dire situation due to being surrounded by players.
“There really is a boss!”
Proud Dragon paused for a moment, and after a brief surprise, excitement surged within him. As a formidable Fringe Character, he never shied away from the notorious act of snatching bosses. After all, even if he didn’t go for it, someone else would.
Such is the nature of the game.
Earlier, Yi Tianchen had been pondering how to tackle this so-called nonexistent "trial." While browsing through his friend list, he was fortunate that All-Knowing provided him with a boss coordinate at just the right moment, which he decided to use for this "trial."
“This boss won’t be easy. If you think you can’t handle it, now’s your chance to back out!” Yi Tianchen smiled lightly, his tone serious yet teasing.
“The word ‘give up’ has never existed in my dictionary!” Proud Dragon declared with determination shining in his eyes. Before he could finish his thought, Not a Master muttered from the side, “Come on! That’s a ‘word,’ not some ‘term.’ Don’t mix them up!”
“Damn!”
Proud Dragon shuddered slightly, staring wide-eyed at the indifferent Not a Master but found no reason to refute him.
Yi Tianchen chuckled speechlessly and said seriously, “Alright then, since you’ve chosen to continue, let’s set some ground rules. After we defeat the boss, experience and reputation points will go to me, while all equipment will belong to you. If any special items drop besides equipment, we’ll roll for them as a team.”
Proud Dragon was taken aback and felt an unexpected mix of emotions. When he heard Yi Tianchen's initial statement, his first thought was about gems; if such things appeared again, wouldn’t he be left out? What a loss that would be!
However…
Proud Dragon never anticipated that Yi Tianchen’s latter statement would completely dispel all his doubts and concerns, leaving him feeling somewhat embarrassed instead. Clearly, this person was willingly giving up benefits! Such encounters were rare in the game.
“Are you serious?” Proud Dragon asked incredulously.
Yi Tianchen nodded, but Not a Master interjected sternly, “My boss is the illustrious Captain of Mist of Time and ranks first server-wide. How could he not be serious? As for you, buddy, whether you can handle this is still uncertain!”
"Let's wait and see!"
Proud Dragon showed no signs of backing down, firmly replying with those three words. Turning to Yi Tianchen, he said, "Since the First Person has spoken and made a promise, I have no more concerns. In that case, let's set off. If we delay any longer, things might change, and that would be unfortunate."
"Let's wait..."

At this moment, Noble Scholar was feeling quite conflicted.
How long had it been? It was definitely more than half an hour—perhaps an hour, or even two hours, or longer! The nearly one hundred brothers he had brought along were suffering heavy casualties; many had already fallen two or three times, and some had even lost their lives more than once.
"Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge, Level 50 Purple Gold BOSS, Vitality 385,000, Attack 2,850-3,850. A formidable knight active in Ruinous Ridge and the sole overlord of Ruinous Ridge. Naturally possesses an exceptionally strong attack; he is a true Destroyer."
A Destroyer?
Noble Scholar felt somewhat speechless. Given the current situation, the term "Destroyer" could hardly encapsulate Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge's explosive status. Perhaps adding "Slayer" to the description would better represent Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge.
"Roar..."
Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge continued to roar in anger. His towering three-meter frame stood like a solid iron tower, covered head to toe in shiny black armor. He held a round shield in his left hand and a long iron spear in his right.
On the other side, a team of sixty to seventy players gathered around, attacking from all directions in an orderly layered assault. Archers shot arrows while mages unleashed various spells, all mixed with the shouts of players as they bombarded Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge at the center.
In the arena, besides the desperate struggle of melee classes, seven or eight Summoned Beasts jumped around, maneuvering to block Lord Yozar's deadly attacks and providing protection for the melee fighters—swordsmen, knights, and Berserker players.
"A Level 50 Purple Gold BOSS is indeed formidable!"
Watching the prolonged bloody battle before him, Noble Scholar couldn't help but furrow his brow. Ever since he learned that a BOSS would spawn in Ruinous Ridge, he had considered it carefully. Ruinous Ridge was a Level 45 Monster Zone; any BOSS appearing here would surely be strong.
However...
Since its establishment, Prestigious Guild had developed steadily but without significant results. This time they were fully transitioning to Zero Era; Noble Scholar hoped to make a name for Prestigious Guild among many players by achieving a notable victory.
After much contemplation, Noble Scholar ultimately decided to take a gamble and target the BOSS at Ruinous Ridge as a powerful stepping stone for his Guild's development. With the formidable strength of the Guild clearing the area, Ruinous Ridge had effectively fallen under the control of the Prestigious Guild.
"Not good, the BOSS is about to unleash a big move! Team Three, retreat!"
A sudden roar echoed through the air, and Noble Scholar's brow furrowed as he looked up. There, in the arena, Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge let out a long howl, and a foul stench erupted from his mouth, manifesting as a dark gas.
Immediately, a large circle of pitch-black light radiated from Lord Yozar of the Corpse Ridge, spreading out with lightning speed. In an instant, it covered a vast area around him, followed by a chorus of terrified screams that sounded quite chilling.
"Damn it! It's Dark Mist, again with the Dark Mist!"
"Purify! Where's the priest's purification? What is that damn priest doing? I’m about to run out of health!"
"What the hell! I can't see anything!"
Amidst the swirling black mist, many players continued to shout in panic. Noble Scholar felt a sinking sensation in his heart, realizing that this was indeed another instance of Dark Mist. Was Noble Family destined to fail at this critical moment?
"Damn it!"
