Someone!
A thought flashed through Fallen Grudge's mind immediately. In that instant, he sensed a figure darting swiftly past him, but due to the ongoing rampage of the Demon Hornet King, he couldn't pinpoint the exact location of the newcomer right away.
However, as an assassin, Fallen Grudge quickly began to perceive his surroundings and soon locked onto a large tree not far away. To put it metaphorically, his attention at that moment was like a greedy snake, flicking its tongue to capture any hint of information in the air.
"There's someone in the tree!"
Owl Dragon World was genuinely shocked by Fallen Grudge's sudden alert. It was nearly impossible for someone to climb a tree and lie in wait right under the noses of dozens from his Fierce Dragon Guild. This meant that the person had already been in the tree long before the battle began.
To delve deeper, this newcomer had clearly come prepared, and everything happening now had likely been planned out in advance. This realization left Owl Dragon World not only shocked but also quite worried—why did this Seven People dare to brazenly challenge the BOSS in front of the Three Guilds?
The reason was now clear.
"Focus fire on the BOSS; we must take it down as quickly as possible!" Owl Dragon World said with a grim look. As he shouted, he began to assign a small portion of his members to keep an eye on their surroundings, especially on the movements in that tree, lest they falter at a critical moment and suffer great losses.
However...
While Owl Dragon World's calculations seemed sound, the observing Culinary Team and the two Imperial Guilds were not to be underestimated either. Seeing Fierce Dragon Guild members focusing on the BOSS made them restless; small groups of their members began to close in and quickly formed an offensive.
"MLGBD, these Trash!" Frost Dragon Wuhen roared as he swung his massive axe. "Brothers, charge! Wipe out these little bastards!" He led the charge against the approaching members of the Culinary Team and the two Imperial Guilds, excitedly swinging his axe and laughing, "Kill them all, leave none behind!"
In this chaotic three-way battle lay an opportunity!
Suddenly, a loud sound pierced through the calm air, like a piece of fabric being torn apart in an instant—it was quite jarring. A sharp gleam sliced downwards, sparkling at its tip as it embedded itself into the Demon Hornet King.
A strike.
"Damn! It's you!" Fallen Grudge's eyes widened as his pupils constricted at once. He pointed at a figure not far away and shouted, "MB's The Terminator of Regrets! I was just worried about finding you; I didn't expect you to come knocking so soon."
"Heh heh... It's truly an honor that the Vice President of Fierce Dragon Guild is concerned about me!" The Terminator of Regrets replied with a smile, dodging the Demon Hornet King's attacks with remarkable speed. "The fact that you haven't found me for so long must mean I'm quite impressive, right?"
"Bah!"
"So it wasn't? That just shows how pathetic you all are, haha..." The Terminator of Regrets said with a mocking tone, laughter spilling from his lips, his expression utterly infuriating. He punctuated his words with a few gestures of the middle finger, adding to the theatricality.
"Uh..."
Fallen Grudge spat blood in frustration, finally realizing that The Terminator of Regrets' earlier boast was merely a way to provoke him. Now, he had no grounds for rebuttal. Admitting that the other was skilled was naturally unacceptable, but denying it would mean acknowledging his own incompetence.
So this was how entanglement came about.
Fallen Grudge gritted his teeth, gripping his dagger tightly as he shouted, "Stop showing off! Today, I’ll show you how you die!" With that, he moved like an arrow released from a bow, launching himself at The Terminator of Regrets and attempting a lethal throat slash, yelling, "Die!"
"Speed isn't bad, but unfortunately it's only effective against snails," The Terminator of Regrets replied with a slight smile. While delivering his verbal attack, he had already sidestepped and closed in on several members of the Owl Dragon, brandishing his glimmering dagger as he struck.
A throat slash.
It was the exact same skill as Fallen Grudge's, but while one resulted in a MISS notification, the other triggered a massive damage number. Especially striking was the burst of flames that erupted at the moment the dagger landed; it was truly a sight to behold.
Critical Hit. Double damage.
The unfortunate member who got hit collapsed without even letting out a sound. Following that, The Terminator of Regrets dragged his dagger across the ground to push away two nearby members and made his escape while taunting, "You think you can touch me with those skills? Not happening!"
This was pure provocation—naked and unrestrained. Even someone with little temper might find their anger stirred up; let alone someone like Fallen Grudge, who already had a short fuse. Adding to this was their previous encounter in the dense forest where Fallen Grudge had also failed to gain any advantage against The Terminator of Regrets. This only fueled his rage further.
"I'm going all out against you!" Fallen Grudge charged forward.
"Watch your temper!" called out Owl Dragon World, who was directing the attack against Demon Hornet King. He quickly warned Fallen Grudge. At this moment, Fallen Grudge was clearly consumed by anger—a bad omen for an assassin—especially when facing such a tricky opponent.
"Don't run if you have the guts!"
Ignoring the warning from Owl Dragon World, Fallen Grudge continued to pursue The Terminator of Regrets, quickly disappearing behind the bushes. This left Owl Dragon World momentarily stunned. When he looked again, Frost Dragon Wuhen was also absent, engaged in a fierce battle with several members of the Culinary Team and the Empire's guild.
"Drawing the tiger away from its mountain?"
Owl Dragon World was suddenly taken aback, unable to suppress his exclamation. The thought had burst into his mind with surprising force, striking a chord deep within him, and before he could think it through, he had called out.
However, while this tactic was indeed clever, its execution relied on a fortunate turn of events. Frost Dragon Wuhen's confrontation with the Culinary Team and the Empire's guild inadvertently separated the three major powers of Owl Dragon. Yi Tianchen simply took advantage of the situation to divert Fallen Grudge as well.
"Tsk tsk... Can such a thin sword even kill a chicken?"
A clearly disdainful voice rang out, causing Owl Dragon World to startle. The voice sounded familiar. Turning his head, he saw a Berserker standing not far away, wielding a heavy sword, his expression filled with contempt and scorn.
"It’s you!"
Owl Dragon World was slightly taken aback but quickly regained his composure. With a swing of his longsword, he growled fiercely, "Old grudges and new enmities will be settled today." His feet moved suddenly as he skillfully executed an S-shaped route to ambush, effectively cutting off all escape routes for Not a Master from three directions.
