Yi Tianchen took a deep breath, paused for a moment, and then swung his sword down, severing the left foreleg of the Forest Patterned White Tiger. Dragging the bloody trophy behind him, he returned to the dilapidated grass hut.
"Old man, I've brought you something delicious!" Yi Tianchen laughed heartily as he entered, tossing the still blood-soaked foreleg of the Forest Patterned White Tiger beside the fire.
The Old Man shuddered at the sight, casting a stern glance at Yi Tianchen. "I never eat meat!" he declared firmly.
"What?"
Yi Tianchen's eyes widened in disbelief, his heart sinking like it had fallen into an icy abyss. "Then... why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"You didn't ask! You were in such a hurry to rush off to your next life; how was I supposed to tell you?" The Old Man seemed unfazed, his aged voice laced with a hint of mockery and a touch of smugness.
"…"
Yi Tianchen felt conflicted. Was it really his fault after all this back and forth?
After pondering for a moment, realizing that soft persuasion wouldn’t work, he decided to take a firmer approach. With a fierce determination, he shouted, "Damn it, old man! Do you have any idea how many people want to eat this meat but are too afraid? I went through so much trouble to get you tiger meat, and you refuse to eat it? No way... Today you have no choice. Whether you eat or not, this meat is here now..."
Pausing for effect, Yi Tianchen softened his tone and continued, "And just to take it a step further, based on the principle of frugality—wasting not a single grain of rice or leaving behind any vegetables—don't you have a responsibility and obligation to eat this tiger meat?"
"You just killed two Boundless Guardians; why aren't you eating them?" The Old Man shot back, glaring at Yi Tianchen.
Yi Tianchen was taken aback, nearly choking on his dinner at the thought. His mind was in turmoil. What kind of programmer designed this NPC? How could they be so stubborn?
"You... fine, fine! You win this round!" Yi Tianchen took a deep breath, feeling defeated but unwilling to give up entirely.
"Hmph!"
The Old Man let out a cold snort, raising his head with an imposing demeanor, his gaze resolute, embodying the spirit of "Who among us has not faced death? Let my loyal heart illuminate the annals of history."
Yi Tianchen clenched his fists tightly, nearly jumping in frustration, wanting to rush forward and give the Old Man a good beating to vent his pent-up anger. Indeed, this was a significant challenge to his patience, and the scene before him had far exceeded his capacity to endure.
In that moment, Yi Tianchen felt he was on the verge of Rage!
