Before he knew it, the time had already passed six in the afternoon. As the one hundred eighth Forest Wanderer let out a final cry and collapsed, the head of the one hundredth Forest Wanderer rolled away.
Yi Tianchen smiled with relief; he had finally gathered enough!
During this time, six pieces of equipment had dropped, all of which were of the same type as Ranger Armor—gear that made Yi Tianchen want to cry. He estimated that once he returned to town, they would be immediately tossed into the System shop.
Looking angry, setting up a stall was just too much!
Leaning on his sword, Yi Tianchen gazed into the distance. Not far ahead was a small hill, and the setting sun was nearly level with its slope. Strangely enough, at this moment, the forest was even brighter than it had been at five o'clock.
Climbing up the hill, he found himself surrounded by dense woods reflecting a mesmerizing golden glow under the sunset. In the midst of it all, a wisp of smoke floated upwards, dancing in the wind like a wild creature.
Yi Tianchen smiled slightly but suddenly widened his eyes in disbelief, staring at the smoke as if struck by a thunderbolt. How could there be smoke in this desolate and secluded misty forest?
His heart raced uncontrollably. Yi Tianchen quickly sprinted down with Wild Fury in tow. As he approached, he found an open area where a simple wooden cabin stood awkwardly between several large trees.
Upon closer inspection, he noticed a cauldron set up in front of the cabin. Flames were roaring beneath it, crackling and popping incessantly.
Yi Tianchen was taken aback, feeling utterly astonished!
He hurried to the outside of the cabin and casually glanced at the cauldron. Inside was filled to the brim with a dark liquid that bubbled violently, releasing an incredibly foul odor.
As the black liquid churned, some eerie white bones emerged. Yi Tianchen even spotted a human arm whose skin had been boiled away; a section of white bone protruded from it, causing him to shudder violently as nausea surged within him.
Without thinking further, Yi Tianchen quickly turned around...
It was clear that this place was definitely not safe. He thought to himself that it would be best to leave quietly while no one noticed—sweep away any traces without leaving a single mark!
But just at that moment...
"A guest from afar, why do you rush into my laboratory without even greeting your host?" A sinister voice echoed from within the wooden cabin.
Yi Tianchen's heart skipped a beat; this was definitely not the voice of a player.
He slowly turned around to see a figure completely shrouded in a black robe standing at the door of the cabin, exuding an extreme sense of mystery that sent chills down his spine.
In one hand, he held a black staff that towered over him, and his cold eyes glowed with an eerie blue light, chilling Yi Tianchen to the core.
Driven by intense curiosity, Yi Tianchen discreetly cast Identification Technique, and a stream of data instantly appeared before him—

Looking at the introduction, Yi Tianchen knew that this was indeed his mission target, but he couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine. He stole a glance at the Cauldron, his heart nearly leaping out of his mouth!
