One Hand Rides the Sky
Yi Tianchen was taken aback, feeling a mix of amusement and disbelief. First, he encountered someone named Proud Dragon, and now another one called One Hand Rides the Sky. Why did everyone he met have such strange names?
However, this fellow was quick to act and just as quick to retreat. After successfully launching a surprise attack, he had already vanished in the direction of the roots, swiftly escaping Yi Tianchen's range of attack and hiding among the densely intertwined branches above.
Liu Yuhan stepped closer to Yi Tianchen and said, "How come you're so popular? So many people are targeting you."
Yi Tianchen forced a bitter smile but gleaned something from Liu Yuhan's words. This guy wasn’t specifically after him; he had been hiding here all along. In other words, it was their sudden appearance that interrupted this person's enjoyable leveling session.
"No wonder there are hardly any monsters around here; it turns out this kid is causing trouble!" Yi Tianchen realized.
"Haha... I never expected that so many people would relentlessly pursue Falling Leaves without success, only for me to stumble upon him. Tsk tsk... this business opportunity is quite tempting!"
Yi Tianchen looked up to see One Hand Rides the Sky standing on a branch three or four meters high, one hand gripping a root while the other held tightly onto a long spear. The Forest of Single Trees had branches and roots crisscrossing in midair like an elevated bridge, making it an excellent spot for ambushes.
What surprised Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan was that this guy had a blood-red emblem of crossed swords on his forehead.
He was a red name!
"Wow... a red name still dares to rob others; you have some guts!" Yi Tianchen leaned on his sword, looking up with interest.
One Hand Rides the Sky laughed heartily, clasping his hands in greeting. "How could I dare? I originally came here to evade my enemies. I didn't expect you to barge in while I was having a good time leveling up. At first, I just wanted to hide in the trees until you left, but seeing you take down several Venomous Patterned Snakes so decisively… tsk tsk… your equipment is impressive!"
"Of course my equipment is good; just hope you don't end up losing your life for it!" Yi Tianchen shot back sharply. Since the other party was after his gear, they would have to settle things with strength.
"Hehe... whether or not you'll keep your life will soon be revealed!" One Hand Rides the Sky's gaze shifted to Liu Yuhan, and he suddenly smiled. "However, if you plan to use numbers to overwhelm me, then I can only consider myself unfortunate. But I believe that a distinguished Level leaderboard First Person wouldn’t resort to such tactics, right?"
Yi Tianchen exchanged glances with Liu Yuhan and replied sternly, "As you wish!"
"Refreshing! Tsk tsk... One million experience points, 500 gold coins, and this set of equipment—it's definitely worth risking my life for!" One Hand Rides the Sky laughed heartily, then his tone shifted as he said, "Watch the spear!"
"Swish..."
As soon as the words left his mouth, One Hand Rides the Sky grabbed a few tendrils and swung down, using the momentum to thrust directly at Yi Tianchen.
With a sharp look, Yi Tianchen quickly dodged, glancing at the numerous tendrils hanging in mid-air. He took a quick step back, grabbed one of the tendrils, and charged towards One Hand Rides the Sky, aiming his Wild Fury directly at his back.
Feeling the overwhelming tearing force of Wild Fury behind him, One Hand Rides the Sky exerted power from his waist and swerved to the side. Immediately after, he swept his spear horizontally towards Yi Tianchen.
Yi Tianchen's gaze sharpened. He exerted force in his arms and lifted himself upward just in time to evade One Hand Rides the Sky's sweeping attack while bringing down Wild Fury. Although One Hand Rides the Sky tried to block it, the sudden added force caused the tendril in his hand to snap instantly.
"Damn... you’re ruthless!"
With a startled cry, One Hand Rides the Sky fell to the ground, losing over 400 Health Points in an instant. His face turned bitter.
Yi Tianchen felt a surge of joy within. As long as he could get him on the ground, this guy had an advantage in the trees, but once on the ground, it would be Yi Tianchen with the upper hand thanks to his superior equipment.
Therefore, he must not let him climb back up!
With that thought in mind, Yi Tianchen squeezed tightly onto a tendril with his legs and flipped backward, maintaining an inverted position while gripping Wild Fury tightly as he aimed it downwards at One Hand Rides the Sky---
"Crack..."
Seeing danger approaching, One Hand Rides the Sky rolled to the side. Although Wild Fury missed its target, Yi Tianchen swiftly executed an upward thrust while still holding onto the tendril. He loosened his legs and rotated 180 degrees. The moment he landed, he transformed into a Phantom and charged upward---
Savage Charge Lv-1!
"Playing with eggs..."
He choked up, nearly brought to tears.
Three seconds of dizziness, compounded by the loss of over 400 Vitality from that guy, was enough to plunge him into despair. Yi Tianchen showed no mercy either; he unleashed a dark circle of energy and immediately executed a powerful Blade Break Slash. As the dizziness faded, he struck three times decisively, ending the battle.
"Clatter..."
A long spear fell to the ground, and from its appearance, it was exactly the same as the one One Hand Rides the Sky had been wielding. Yi Tianchen picked it up and was surprised to find it was an 18-level Dark Iron Equipment, a highly sought-after item at that moment—definitely a small treasure worth a hefty price.
Seeing the battle conclude, Liu Yuhan approached with a grin, looking at the spoils in Yi Tianchen's hands. "Tianchen, what are you planning to do with this weapon?"
"Sell it! We'll split the profits!" Yi Tianchen laughed heartily.
"Sounds good! The Dark Iron Equipment should fetch quite a price!" Liu Yuhan agreed.

About ten minutes later, a resurrection glow appeared as One Hand Rides the Sky stood up from the ground. The Red Name Indicator on his forehead had cleared due to his death, but the cost was a direct loss of one level.
Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan remained where they were, not making any further moves.
"Hey... you dare to resurrect again?" Yi Tianchen said, holding his weapon with mild surprise as he looked at One Hand Rides the Sky.
"I'm afraid if I don't resurrect now, it will be too late!"
"Oh?"
"Hehe, guess what I saw on my way back?" One Hand Rides the Sky didn't approach Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan but instead walked over to a thick root sticking out of the ground and leaned against it.
Yi Tianchen's heart sank as a troubling thought crossed his mind: "Could it be that the people outside have chased in?"
"Haha... you're not wrong. I roughly counted, and there are no fewer than thirty of them! Tsk tsk, the snakes in Venom Valley lose all their aggression at night, as you must have already experienced. However... if they come in, you will be in danger!"
"Then you should be quite pleased, right?"
One Hand Rides the Sky chuckled, "While that may be true, I have a different idea!"
"Oh?"
Exchanging a glance with Liu Yuhan, Yi Tianchen had an inkling of what was coming. He calmly said, "Go on."
"Why don't we cooperate? I'll help you take them out!" One Hand Rides the Sky's expression turned serious, his tone filled with confidence.
"Can you handle that on your own?" Yi Tianchen expressed his skepticism.
"Of course I can't do it alone. What I mean is the three of us together, combined with the unique environment of Venom Valley. The chances are still quite good!"
"And what would be the price for this cooperation?" Liu Yuhan asked.
"Return my weapons to me!"
Yi Tianchen smiled slightly. As expected, this guy was willing to take risks not out of genuine intent to help them but simply because he couldn't bear to part with his Dark Iron Equipment.
"Are you suggesting using this?" Yi Tianchen glanced at the countless roots suspended in mid-air.
"Exactly! This is our only advantage. We can lure them up into the trees and take them out one by one!" One Hand Rides the Sky spoke firmly, then shifted his tone with a chuckle, "This Venom Valley is surrounded by mountains on three sides; the only exit is the entrance they just came through!"
"That's just your side of the story. Why should we believe you? There's a good chance that once you get your hands on a weapon, you'll turn against us and strike from behind!" Liu Yuhan's words were sharp and to the point.
"Damn it!"
One Hand Rides the Sky was furious, retorting, "Even though I engage in robbery, I still uphold the principle of loyalty. If you don't trust me, why bother saying so much?"
"Alright then, I hope we can work together pleasantly!"
Yi Tianchen smiled and tossed a weapon over. Since this guy spoke with such righteous fervor, he decided to give him a chance. Besides, Yi Tianchen didn't have any better options at the moment; it was better to gamble than to have another troublesome enemy.
Catching the weapon, One Hand Rides the Sky felt secretly pleased and said to Yi Tianchen, "Don't worry, you won't regret this decision!"
"Let's hope so!"
