Outside Southern Wilderness City lies a vibrant Maple Forest, within which is nestled Maple Village!
This is a forest where the leaves blaze red all year round, overlapping and dancing with the Mountain Breeze, resembling flickering flames, full of vitality and passion. Not far away, the vast blue sea stretches endlessly, with the moist sea breeze gently caressing the tranquil village throughout the year.
As they approached, the two guards at the village entrance quickly spotted Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan, their expressions turning to surprise upon seeing the three young women.
"Quick... go inform the village chief, the young lady has returned!"
One guard exclaimed excitedly, while the other turned and dashed into the village. Before long, a group of NPCs appeared at the village entrance, ready to give a grand welcome.
The crowd parted, and from the center emerged an old man, standing at about one meter tall. His hair and beard were both gray, but beneath his loose and simple clothing, he could not hide his still muscular physique.
Upon seeing this short yet strong figure, Yi Tianchen immediately thought of the dwarves—a race that once held an indispensable position on Dreamland Continent but ultimately perished after being ousted by humans.
As in all similar scenarios, the three young women rushed forward to embrace their family members, recounting a touching tale of their tragic experiences. After sharing their grievances, they pointed to Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan: "Thanks to our older brother and sister, otherwise..."
An ellipsis spoke volumes of untold hardships and unexpressed sorrows!
The Short Village Chief nodded: "Oh, brave warriors who have come from afar, thank you for saving my granddaughter. On behalf of all Maple Village, I sincerely thank you for your chivalrous deeds!"
Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan were taken aback; these three tall and beautiful young women were actually the grandchildren of this Short Village Chief? Was this a challenge to players' intelligence?
There was no time to ponder further when an uplifting notification rang out—

Your team has successfully completed the quest [Missing Girl], earning 300,000 experience points, 10 gold coins, and 100 reputation points; you personally gained 150,000 experience points, 5 gold coins, and 50 reputation points, along with an additional item [Maple Village VIP Medal] ×1!

Yi Tianchen felt a bit disappointed. The medal did not provide any enhancements to character attributes. However, the protection from the Maple Village guards gave him a sudden sense of relief.
At that moment, Yi Tianchen was being hunted by the System and had no safe place to land. Maple Village turned out to be the perfect refuge for him. Moreover, receiving protection from the red-leaf guards meant that at this stage, who would dare challenge the high-ranking NPC guards?
Without hesitation, he clicked to equip it. The System prompted him with "Binding Required." He chose to agree, and a golden medal appeared on his arm, adding a touch of prestige to Yi Tianchen.

Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan were taken aback for a moment, suddenly realizing that something felt off. Typically, NPCs were cold and unresponsive after completing a quest, but this Elder Villager seemed quite different.
Clearly, this was an NPC with a high level of independent intelligence. It reminded Yi Tianchen of the Appraiser in the novice village, his mentor Hell Swordsman Azure Abyss, and the Light Swordsman Luo En, who had sacrificed his life for Yi Tianchen's rise!
"Then we shall gladly accept your offer!" After a brief exchange with Liu Yuhan in their team channel, Yi Tianchen eagerly agreed with the Elder Villager.
"Please follow me!"
For nearly half an hour, under the guidance and introduction of the Elder Villager, Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan completed a tour of the mountain village. Maple Village was nestled within Maple Forest, adorned with vibrant red leaves and bordering the sea. It was a small fishing village where life was simple and unpretentious.
What surprised Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan the most was that this small village had everything: an inn, tavern, apothecary, general store, and Blacksmith Shop—far superior to Waystation. This certainly solidified Yi Tianchen's intention to use this place as a base to survive the System's twenty-four-hour bounty.
Undeniably, the second additional attribute of this VIP medal would find its most valuable interpretation here!
About twenty minutes later, Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan followed the Elder Villager back to their starting point; their tour officially concluded.
The Elder Villager stroked his beard and asked, "I wonder if you two warriors are satisfied with the scenery of Maple Village?"
"It's beautiful!"
This was the shared conclusion of Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan. The entire village was surrounded by clusters of red leaves against a backdrop of blue skies and white clouds. The sea in front blended seamlessly with the sky, while lush green mountains loomed behind. It truly was a wonderful place. If it were in reality, it would undoubtedly be a top-tier tourist destination.
Hearing the heartfelt praise from Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan, the Elder Villager chuckled but was instantly engulfed in helplessness, lamenting, "It's just a pity that our beautiful little village will soon face a life-and-death crisis!"

It was not until this moment that Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan realized that the Elder Villager's ultimate purpose for showing them the scenery was to lead to this very scene.

"Absolutely!" Yi Tianchen patted his chest, filled with righteous determination.

After issuing the mission, the Elder Villager offered friendly encouragement to Yi Tianchen and Liu Yuhan before turning and walking into the village's only Blacksmith Shop.
Yi Tianchen was taken aback; it turned out that the Elder Villager was a blacksmith. No wonder he looked so strong and powerful—swinging a hammer every day would make anyone robust!
With a shift in thought, Yi Tianchen called out to Liu Yuhan and quickly ran over. Using impeccable bandit logic, he strongly insisted that the Elder Villager repair their equipment for free.
After bidding farewell to the Elder Villager, the two headed to the inn, enjoying a fifty percent discount as they booked two rooms before logging off for lunch.
