Jonas stood beside Isabella, calmly observing the scene before them. Outside the tent, villagers were being examined by the Old Witch one by one. The ritual, though strange, seemed to be proceeding smoothly. Each person stood obediently, allowing the Old Witch to sniff and touch them, checking their bodies, and quickly stepping aside once she signaled them to do so. It appeared that there was nothing particularly unusual. 0

However, Jonas felt a lingering unease. Mocus's earlier outburst had struck him as odd. Although Mocus was usually tense, he had never displayed such a loss of control. Furrowing his brow, Jonas speculated that perhaps Mocus was facing more than just mental pressure; there might be other threats they had yet to uncover. 0

At that moment, Urahesa suddenly waved his hand, signaling a young man standing nearby to approach. Jonas withdrew his gaze from the crowd and turned to look at the newcomer. The man had dark skin and a robust physique, with well-defined muscles that exuded a sense of primal strength. His face and body were covered in intricate tribal tattoos, each detail revealing his identity as a warrior. 0

"This is Raja," Urahesa introduced steadily, his gaze shifting to Jonas and Isabella with a hint of respect and caution. "He is a warrior of our tribe and will be your guide tomorrow." 0

Jonas scrutinized Raja, noting the calmness and determination in his eyes, which instilled a bit more trust in this young man. Raja's presence and his commanding demeanor made it clear without words that he held significant status within the tribe. This eased Jonas's mind slightly; after all, they were about to enter an unknown and dangerous jungle, and having a guide familiar with the local environment would undoubtedly increase their chances of survival. 0

"Tomorrow's journey will be perilous, but Raja is the bravest and most experienced warrior in our tribe. He will lead you safely to your destination," Urahesa stated with an undeniable authority that made Jonas feel they at least had some geographical advantage in this expedition. 0

Isabella nodded gently, expressing her trust in their guide. Jonas remained skeptical; although Raja's presence offered some reassurance, he knew that the dangers of this mission extended far beyond the jungle's terrain. Mocus's earlier abnormal reaction and the Old Witch's ritual all suggested that things were not as simple as they seemed. 0

"There are many unknown challenges awaiting us tomorrow," Jonas reminded himself internally. "We must be fully prepared." 0

Raja extended a strong hand toward them, a slight smile on his face as he spoke in somewhat halting tones, "Hello." 0

Isabella smiled back and shook his hand, feeling the roughness and strength of his grip. She sensed the wild energy and calm confidence radiating from this young man. Jonas stood aside without extending his hand but nodded at Raja as a form of greeting. 0

After Raja bowed slightly and stepped back to remain silent, focusing intently on the ensuing conversation, Jonas turned to Urahesa, his eyes revealing a mix of anxiety and curiosity. "Urahesa, what are the actual dangers within the cave? We need to be prepared." 0

Upon hearing this question, Urahesa's expression grew serious. His gaze swept back and forth between Jonas and Isabella as if carefully considering how to respond. After a moment of silence, he spoke in a low voice: "The Dark Abyss has not been visited by anyone for over a hundred years. This place is sacred yet dangerous for our tribe; therefore, we are unaware of its current conditions." 0

Urahesa's tone carried an ancient and mysterious authority that made Jonas feel a twinge of unease. Given that even the locals could not ascertain the situation within the cave, the unknown risks they faced became even more unpredictable. This stirred a strong sense of vigilance within Jonas. 0

Urahesa's expression grew more solemn as he fixed his gaze on Jonas and Isabella, his voice laced with a warning: "What I promised you was permission to explore, but remember, you must never take anything that belongs to our ancestors." 0

His words echoed in the tent, imbued with an undeniable seriousness. Urahesa's eyes were filled with caution and authority, making it clear to Jonas that this was not just idle talk. For the tribe, those items were not merely ancient relics; they symbolized the souls of their ancestors and sacred power. 0

"We will heed your words," Jonas replied cautiously. He understood that this expedition was not just for scientific research; it involved the cultural and spiritual boundaries of the local people. Any reckless action could lead to unforeseen consequences. 0

Isabella nodded as well, her expression remaining calm, though her heart felt heavier. She knew that this expedition was fraught with unknown dangers, whether from the perils of the cave or the taboos of the tribe, which added to her pressure. They had to tread carefully to survive this perilous journey. 0

Jonas cast one last glance at Raja before turning to Urahesa and saying, "We will respect the rules here and hope for a successful expedition." 0

Urahesa said nothing further, merely nodding in acknowledgment of their trust. However, Jonas was acutely aware that the dangers of this expedition extended far beyond what had been discussed; the real challenges were likely just beginning. 0

Standing beside Isabella, Jonas listened intently to Urahesa's words, yet his unease intensified. His gaze inadvertently drifted toward the distant dark jungle, where an inexplicable thrill surged within him, as if some unseen force was quietly approaching. 0

The jungle appeared serene and harmless, but Jonas's instincts warned him that beneath this tranquility lay great danger. The dense shadows of trees swayed gently in the breeze, as if whispering some ancient curse. This sensation sent a chill down his spine, making him feel as though something ominous was lurking in the shadows, waiting for its moment to pounce. 0

Jonas found himself turning his head involuntarily, his eyes fixated on that dark jungle. His nerves tightened in an instant, and his heartbeat quickened. He had participated in countless dangerous expeditions before, but this one felt entirely different. The sense of danger was not as clear-cut as before; it felt more like a summons from the abyss, shrouded in unpredictable darkness. 0

This feeling grew stronger, as if the entire jungle were emitting a low growl that reverberated deep within him. Jonas clenched his fists involuntarily, his palms slightly sweating. This expedition—whether from the unknowns of the cave or the tribe's taboos—was weighing on him with unprecedented pressure. He could not determine what he was facing, but he knew this time would not be as easy as before. 0

"Something here feels... wrong," Jonas silently warned himself; he knew he could not afford to be complacent. His gaze remained locked on that jungle as if trying to capture something elusive. He could not penetrate the depths of that darkness, but he sensed that it concealed some ancient and malevolent force waiting for its chance to ensnare them all. 0

The dangerous thrill lingered like a shadow, refusing to fade no matter how hard he tried to suppress it. Jonas understood that he had to remain vigilant at all times, for the threats they faced came not only from the jungle around them but also from the unknown cave ahead, and from the deep-seated darkness that gnawed at his heart. 0

Jonas took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. Though his insides remained tense, he knew that he had to stay rational no matter what lay ahead. He slowly turned back, refocusing his attention on the task at hand, but that dangerous thrill continued to prick at his nerves like a fine needle, relentless and unyielding. 0
