Ye Huan's ambush did not succeed. As the leader of the Heavenly Dragon Sect, Gu Long had survived countless ambushes and was already vigilant about every detail in life-and-death battles. Fuming with rage after being insulted by Ye Huan, Gu Long exclaimed "good" three times in succession. Then he swung his Azure Dragon Crescent Blade down fiercely. If there had been others present, they would have seen the blade’s dragon energy swirling around as it cleaved through all the golden small swords and headed straight for Ye Huan's head.
"Ye Huan! I'm here to help you!"
At a critical moment, a loud shout erupted from behind Ye Huan. It was the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon bursting forth from within the cave. Upon seeing the scene before him, its golden figure transformed into a streak of light and dove directly into the two D80 Tiger Tooth Bayonets in Ye Huan's hands.

Before Ye Huan could react, two D80 Tiger Tooth Bayonets erupted in a burst of golden light. Even the golden small swords that had been knocked aside by Gu Long using the Azure Dragon Crescent Blade seemed to resonate with some force, floating up from the Ground into the air. The tips of those small swords all pointed towards Gu Long, flying towards him at lightning speed as he swung his blade.
“This is just like the legendary Sword Control Technique!”
Inside the cave, Bai Yulin, who had cautiously moved to the entrance to assist Yu Wuxia, was momentarily blinded by the dazzling golden light. He couldn't help but curse, prompting Yu Wuxia to turn and glance back. However, he was even more stunned than Bai Yulin, unable to utter a word for a long moment, his mouth agape as wide as a bowl.
Unaware that two people were watching from behind, Ye Huan finally snapped out of his shock from the Nine-Clawed Golden Dragon. Taking advantage of the golden small swords attacking Gu Long, which forced him to retreat repeatedly, he charged forward with both D80 Tiger Tooth Bayonets, quickly catching up to Gu Long and arriving right in front of him, thrusting both bayonets towards Gu Long's chest.
“Thinking of killing me? It's not that easy!”
As if he didn't regard Ye Huan at all, with a roar, Gu Long deflected the advance of the D80 Tiger Tooth Bayonets with his Azure Dragon Crescent Blade. The pages flipped rapidly until an M67 Fragmentation Grenade appeared. Two M67 Fragmentation Grenades then dropped straight down from the Summoning Book...
“This can't be real! Is Ye Huan really going to take down Gu Long with him?”
Standing at a distance, Bai Yulin was startled when he saw two M67 fragmentation grenades land in front of Gu Long and Ye Huan. He muttered to himself in disbelief. However, before he could finish his sentence, Yu Wuxia, treating him as she usually did Ye Huan, gave him a sharp knock on the head and said irritably, "You idiot! Can't you open your eyes and see if the safety pin is pulled or not?"
"The safety pin? Isn't it supposed to be pulled all the time?"
Bai Yulin was baffled by Yu Wuxia's sudden outburst. He had already noticed that the two M67 fragmentation grenades had been in a pulled state since they fell from the Summoning Book. If that weren't the case, he wouldn't have mentioned that Ye Huan was going to self-destruct with Gu Long. On the other hand, Yu Wuxia, after hearing Bai Yulin's words, was momentarily confused and blurted out, "Isn't it right that it hasn't been pulled?"
"I said it's always been in a pulled state!"
Bai Yulin rolled his eyes at Yu Wuxia. He was genuinely curious about why Ye Huan had chosen to join Yuxu Palace, considering that if it were him, Bai Yulin, he wouldn't be able to tolerate such a scatterbrained leader.
