The history of Eastern State would be etched in memory today, for on this day, a significant portion of the elite from Eastern State, West Coast, and the Heavenly Dragon Sect fell at the hands of Ye Huan. Of course, the masters of the Heavenly Dragon Sect had considered fleeing and resisting, but before they could set foot in these mountains, Ye Huan had already transformed the entire area into a firepower coverage zone. Whether from above or on the ground, anyone who entered would not escape unscathed.
Boom! Boom!
The explosions continued for over ten minutes until Ye Huan could no longer muster the strength to control various arms for attack. Apart from him, there was no other living soul at the scene. Not far in front of him lay a deep pit, about twenty meters in diameter, still emitting wisps of blue smoke.
"Wow, why aren't you chasing me anymore?"
After resting for a while on the ground, Ye Huan caught a glimpse of a faint reflection in the distance under the sunlight. A smile crept onto his face as he spoke. He slowly stood up and walked toward the edge of the pit to see what that reflective object was. After all, anything that could withstand such bombardment without melting must possess extraordinary hardness.
As he drew closer, standing beside the massive hole blasted out by artillery fire, blinding rays of light suddenly pierced Ye Huan's eyes. This made him realize something was off. He hurriedly pulled out a pair of black sunglasses and perched them on his nose before peering into the pit again. Soon he discovered that there were multiple reflective points nearby; he had simply been too far away earlier to notice. The cause of these reflections was an array of Flying Swords, Spatial Rings, and defensive artifacts left behind by numerous fallen cultivators scattered all over the area.
"I..."
Staring intently at the multitude of artifacts and Flying Swords before him, Ye Huan swallowed hard, overwhelmed with excitement to the point where he couldn't utter a complete sentence. After some time spent calming himself down, he finally leaped into the pit and swiftly collected various Flying Swords and artifacts before quickly leaving the area. There were more important matters awaiting him that night.
As night fell and moonlight once again enveloped the earth, a pair of eyes watched coldly from the darkness over the villages controlled by the Heavenly Dragon Sect surrounding Yuxu Palace. The owner of those eyes was none other than Ye Huan!
Seated in the cockpit of an Apache Attack Helicopter, using a military telescope and infrared sensing system, Ye Huan had easily grasped every detail within each village below after some time spent observing. He pondered how best to execute the plan forming in his mind perfectly.
"Got it!"
Suddenly slapping his thigh, Ye Huan remembered he was still sitting in the Apache Attack Helicopter. He hurriedly pressed a button on the helicopter, and as it gradually stabilized in the air, he pulled open the cabin door with a loud 'whoosh' of friction. Following that, he tossed down several smoke grenades, all of which had not yet had their safety pins removed.
After doing all this, Ye Huan ran back to the cockpit and piloted the Apache to the next village. He repeated the process, dropping more smoke grenades. If anyone else were present, they would surely be curious about Ye Huan's actions, as smoke grenades could confuse sight but needed to have their safety pins pulled to be effective.
Without any hesitation, after throwing smoke grenades at every location near Yuxu Palace, Ye Huan maneuvered the Apache back over the original village. From his Spatial Ring, he retrieved a Barrett Sniper Rifle equipped with a night vision scope. This sniper rifle had been painstakingly summoned and modified after countless failures. Although its power had decreased significantly, its range had greatly increased due to the installation of the night vision scope and an extended barrel.
Pfft...
A dull sound echoed through the nearly one-meter-long barrel as a bullet shot out from the Barrett Sniper Rifle, directly hitting one of the smoke grenades Ye Huan had dropped earlier. The grenade exploded without having its safety pin pulled, releasing a large cloud of smoke that drew out members of the village, including ordinary people and two Heavenly Dragon Sect Golden Core Stage Cultivators.
"Die!"
Seated in the Apache Attack Helicopter, Ye Huan uttered a single word—"die." The muzzle of the Barrett Sniper Rifle erupted with a tiny flash of fire as a bullet cleanly struck one of the Heavenly Dragon Sect Golden Core Stage Cultivators, piercing through his mouth just as he was about to speak. At that moment, noticing something was amiss, another Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivator reacted, but Ye Huan quickly pulled the trigger again.
Pfft! White brain matter mixed with crimson blood sprayed everywhere. In this village below Ye Huan, two Golden Core Stage Cultivators fell effortlessly. With the sky darkening, the ordinary villagers were too frightened to make a sound; some even dropped to their knees and began banging their heads on the ground, seemingly connected to those two Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivators.
Not bothering with the ordinary people, after dealing with the two Golden Core Stage Cultivators in this village, Ye Huan swiftly headed toward the next village. He feared that there might be some special means of communication among Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivators. However, his worries seemed unnecessary because when he arrived at the second village, it was even quieter than the first.
Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
A series of gunshots rang out as Ye Huan's thrown smoke grenades exploded once more. Just like before, what had been an eerily quiet village turned chaotic in an instant. It appeared that for the entire night ahead, the villages surrounding Yuxu Palace would not be peaceful at all. As for those Cultivators within Yuxu Palace—whether they lived or died seemed to depend on Ye Huan's mood.
Just around the time when Ye Huan had just launched an attack on the village surrounding Yuxu Palace, a snoring sound echoed from the room where Gu Long, the leader of the Heavenly Dragon Sect, resided. He must have been having a pleasant dream. However, if he were to learn about the events of the day—the pursuit of Ye Huan, the Cultivator—and everything that had transpired during the night, would he still be able to sleep as soundly as he was now?
