Ye Huan's choice was undoubtedly the right one. Just after he dashed out of the forest, more Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivators arrived at the spot where he had been, drawn by the red smoke from the signal flare. Judging by their speed, they were likely higher-level Cultivators than Ye Huan. If a confrontation occurred, even with his various long-range attack methods, Ye Huan would find himself in a very tricky situation.
"I must not let these guys get close to me..."
Sensing the movement behind him with his Divine Sense, Ye Huan muttered to himself as he pulled out the 2012 Arms Compendium. He planned to set up a defensive system using the arms listed in the compendium to hinder their advance. However, in this open wilderness, establishing a solid defense would undoubtedly consume a lot of Ye Huan's time. Thus, he could only manage a makeshift setup. As he continued on his way, every five hundred meters or so, Ye Huan dropped a C4 plastic explosive and a few M67 fragmentation grenades. He set the C4 to detonate in three seconds, believing that for Cultivators of a higher level than him, covering five hundred meters in that time wouldn't be too difficult.
As expected, when he had thrown down his second C4 explosive, the sound of the first explosion echoed behind him. Many Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivators were caught off guard and suffered significant losses, thrown into disarray. Some were even left dazed by the blast. This outcome was partly due to the arrogance of the Celestial Dragon Sect Disciples; they walked around with their noses in the air. Otherwise, how could they have failed to notice such an obvious explosive being tossed by Ye Huan?
Ahead of him, feeling quite pleased with himself, Ye Huan decided to add a little more firepower and took out a few more C4s. However, he never expected that the Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivators seemed to see through his tricks and all took to the air.
"What the hell...! This is blatant cheating!"
Flipping them off angrily, Ye Huan stopped wasting Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy summoning C4s after they ascended and opted for another type of arms—like the Type 99 main battle tank!
Without hesitation, he summoned a Type 99 main battle tank from the 2012 Arms Compendium. Ye Huan quickly climbed inside and controlled the tank to move at maximum speed while aiming its cannon at the Cultivators hovering in midair.
Boom!
The exhilarating sound of cannon fire erupted as Ye Huan locked onto one of the Heavenly Dragon Sect Cultivators in the sky with his Divine Sense at Nascent Soul Stage. The opponent's demise became inevitable because even if they were as tough as iron, the 125mm smoothbore cannon of the Type 99 was more than enough to obliterate them. Moreover, atop the tank was a QJC-88 anti-aircraft machine gun ready to fire two rounds at any moment.
Bang…
The shell fired by the Type 99 main battle tank accurately hit its target, and the Cultivator locked onto by Ye Huan met his end without even having time to deploy his defensive treasures. It was likely that until his last breath, he would not understand the means by which Ye Huan had achieved this.
"This is..."
Finally, someone among the Heavenly Dragon Sect's Cultivators showed a look of fear. The decision of whether to pursue Ye Huan had become their greatest dilemma. If they chose to chase, given the current situation, they might suffer significant casualties, which would be extremely disadvantageous for the already struggling Heavenly Dragon Sect in their confrontation with Yuxu Palace. Thankfully, this was a Type 99 tank; if it had been another 'delicate' type of Arms that could only operate on flat ground, it would have surely been sent straight to the repair shop.
As he sighed inwardly while driving the tank into the mountain range, Ye Huan was not worried about the Cultivators from the Heavenly Dragon Sect catching up to him. After all, through his earlier probing, he had discovered that their strongest member seemed to be on par with Beitang Mo. To truly catch up with him—a Cultivator who held the identity of a summoner—would likely pose quite a challenge.
Finding a concealed spot, Ye Huan finally stopped the Type 99 main battle tank and stored it away. He then began setting up new defenses in the area. In addition to summoning the Gatling Gun he had called forth earlier, Ye Huan placed several Javelin Anti-Tank Missiles around him. Still feeling somewhat uneasy, he decided to summon two Apache Attack Helicopters using his 2012 Arms Compendium.
Time passed second by second. By the time the experts from the Heavenly Dragon Sect arrived at this mountain range, three full minutes had elapsed since Ye Huan's arrival. Given Ye Huan's summoning speed while holding the 2012 Arms Compendium, those three minutes were more than enough for him to set up various Arms throughout the mountains. In fact, he had done just that; at this moment, he was leisurely sitting on a rock fiddling with a Military Lighter. The flickering flames emerging from it created immense psychological pressure on the newly arrived Cultivators from the Heavenly Dragon Sect.
"You are Ye Huan?"
Just as Ye Huan was playing with his Military Lighter, those experts from the Heavenly Dragon Sect took this opportunity to scrutinize him closely and quickly recognized his identity. He had no intention of being polite with these Cultivators from the Heavenly Dragon Sect who had been pursuing him for quite some time. As he spoke, he activated all the Arms he had personally set up in the vicinity...
