Holding two precious treasures that countless people yearned for, Ye Huan looked around but ultimately couldn't withstand the pain coursing through his body. He steeled himself, closed his eyes, and first placed the Snow Lotus Grass in his mouth, followed by opening wide to swallow the Moonlight Fruit.
"My goodness, the Moonlight Fruit is indeed meant to be consumed whole, but does it really have to be swallowed entirely?"
Witnessing Ye Huan gulp down the Moonlight Fruit, the Hua Tuo regretted not having informed him earlier that it could be eaten without being swallowed whole. Now, seeing Ye Huan's throat bobbing and saliva pooling in his mouth, he felt a mix of concern and relief as Ye Huan's pain visibly lessened after both the Moonlight Fruit and Snow Lotus Grass entered his stomach.
"How do you feel?"
Suppressing the odd sensation in his mouth, the Hua Tuo asked out of concern as he noticed Ye Huan gradually regaining his composure. To his surprise, Ye Huan ignored him completely and plopped down on the cold ground of the Dragon Hall Warehouse.
Pain!
That was the only sensation left in Ye Huan's body. It wasn't that he didn't want to answer the Hua Tuo; he simply couldn't speak. After consuming the Moonlight Fruit and Snow Lotus Grass, he initially felt nothing. However, as time passed, although the bloating in his Dantian had subsided, he now felt as if his meridians were being sliced open with scissors and then sewn back together with a needle. The urge to cry welled up inside him.
Knowing it was undoubtedly related to swallowing the Moonlight Fruit and Snow Lotus Grass, Ye Huan reached into his mind to probe his body with a sliver of Divine Sense. What he discovered shocked him: within him, a vibrant energy was tugging at his meridians until they ruptured. Following that, with no meridians left intact, this energy formed special channels where the original meridians had been. Functionally, they seemed similar to the previous meridians, but their diameter was significantly larger.
It is well-known that the wider the space within the meridians, the more Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy they can hold. Given how the Moonlight Fruit and Snow Lotus Grass reshaped Ye Huan's meridians, it was believed that his cultivation speed would greatly increase in the future. This was all thanks to having the Moonlight Fruit in the Dragon Hall Warehouse. While both were precious treasures, the role of Snow Lotus Grass was merely to repair damaged meridians; however, Moonlight Fruit served a different purpose—it enhanced the efficacy of other medicinal herbs.
Take Snow Lotus Grass for example: without Moonlight Fruit, it could only help Ye Huan restore his meridians to their original state. With Moonlight Fruit, however, Snow Lotus Grass effectively gave Ye Huan a "new upgrade." This demonstrated just how powerful Moonlight Fruit was—a fact that even Hua Tuo likely hadn't anticipated.
Time passed without Ye Huan opening his eyes until Hua Tuo grew impatient waiting. Finally, Ye Huan opened his eyes and uttered just one word: "Refreshing!"
"Happy? What the hell! Just be honest, have your meridians fully recovered?"
Having spent a considerable amount of time with Ye Huan, Hua Tuo had come to understand some of the phrases Ye Huan often used. However, he knew that even with medicinal assistance, the pain from damaged meridians could easily cause an ordinary person to faint. The fact that Ye Huan remained conscious was a testament to his resilience, prompting Hua Tuo to inquire about Ye Huan's recovery while jokingly teasing him, which made Ye Huan feel a sense of familiarity.
Of course, while feeling familiar, Ye Huan remained slightly on guard around Hua Tuo. Thus, upon hearing Hua Tuo's question, Ye Huan instinctively concealed the fact that his meridians were now several times wider than before. He smiled and replied, "Thanks to you, Senior Hua, my meridians have almost fully recovered. I believe that with a bit more time, the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy stored in my Dantian will be enough for me to become a Nascent Soul Practitioner."
"Are you kidding? If your abdomen has returned to its previous state, it means the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy in your Dantian has already spread throughout every corner of your body. In other words, you are clearly a Nascent Soul Practitioner now!"
"What?! I don't feel any Nascent Soul inside me!"
Staring at Hua Tuo in surprise, Ye Huan recalled that during the recovery process involving Moonlight Fruit and Snow Lotus Grass, he hadn't sensed any significant increase in his power. Moreover, how could he be called a Nascent Soul Practitioner if there was no Nascent Soul within him?
The more he thought about it, the more confused he became. Ye Huan even attempted to check within himself again. To his astonishment, although there was no Nascent Soul present and the total amount of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy felt similar to before, he distinctly sensed that the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy within him was purer than it had been previously. This led him to recall Luo Yufeng and Beitang Mo; they also seemed not to have a Nascent Soul within them. This made Ye Huan somewhat inclined to believe Hua Tuo's words and he continued to ask, "Senior Hua, does becoming a Nascent Soul Practitioner mean that the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy within one becomes purer?"
"Exactly! Have you noticed that as a Cultivator ascends through realms, the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy within them becomes increasingly refined? If one day you find that your Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy can no longer condense further, perhaps you will have already become an Ascended Stage Cultivator. As for what you mentioned about having a Nascent Soul inside you—sorry, maybe I'm just getting old; I really can't understand that."
With a smile, Hua Tuo provided his explanation. He was quite clear about the Nascent Soul Stage; however, regarding what to do when the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy could no longer condense further—perhaps even Hua Tuo himself didn't know. Therefore, Ye Huan didn't press further on that topic but instead took out his 2012 Arms Compendium. After all, for Ye Huan, this compendium was truly his lifeline for survival in the Nine Provinces. If anything were to change after advancing in his Cultivator realm, he would have nowhere to cry.
"Hey, Ye Huan! Wait a minute! Why has your Summoning Book gotten so much bigger?"
Noticing Ye Huan's actions and realizing he had pulled out his Summoning Book, Hua Tuo quickly sensed something was off. To him, it was evident that the 2012 Arms Compendium had grown significantly larger than before. With this reminder from Hua Tuo, Ye Huan also turned his attention back to the compendium and exclaimed in surprise, "It upgraded again?!"
