Qiao Wei was not very old, probably only around ten years old, with a face as cute as a doll. However, she had a pair of alluring curves that seemed ready to take flight. They were not overly large but beautifully shaped, just enough for an adult man to hold in one hand. Her tiny waist, which could be grasped easily, accentuated her figure into an S-shape, making her undeniably beautiful.
After some time of adjustment, Qiao Wei slowly revealed her identity in the palace to Ye Huan.
As Ye Huan had guessed, Qiao Wei had indeed just been selected as a consort in the Southern Xiongnu Empire Palace. Previously, she was the young lady of the Sunfire Qiao Family, and it had only been about two months since her arrival.
According to Qiao Wei's previous thoughts, entering the palace would surely be much more interesting than staying at home. Who would have thought that once she arrived at the palace, she discovered that nearly everyone there was only considering their own interests? All day long, they were scheming on how to step on others to gain power and influence. She had no friends to talk to at all. Over time, she grew increasingly weary of life in the palace. As for the Room Techniques book, it was something her mother had prepared for her when she entered the palace.
Understanding the general situation, Ye Huan sighed helplessly, unsure of what to say. Entering the palace? It was certainly not a place for normal people!
"And you? Why did you come to the palace dressed as eunuchs?"
Perhaps it was because she hadn't spoken to anyone for a long time; after saying a few words, Qiao Wei no longer feared Ye Huan and instead asked back.
Ye Huan laid out everything about their mission to rescue someone and then added, "By the way, do you know if there have been any unusual happenings in the palace lately? For example, an increase in skilled individuals…"
After Ye Huan finished speaking, Qiao Wei frowned as if she recalled something.
Seeing her expression, Ye Huan knew she must have some information and hurriedly asked, "What is it? Do you know something?"
"Yes," Qiao Wei replied. "A couple of days ago while I was walking in the garden, I overheard someone saying that there have been quite a few new faces at the Empress's side. It seems like two distinguished guests have arrived…"
Pressing her lips together, Qiao Wei shared the news she had heard, though her words lacked certainty.
However, this was enough to excite Ye Huan. At the very least, the information from Qiao Wei gave him a glimmer of hope, which was certainly better than leaving the Southern Xiongnu Empire Palace in defeat.
Standing up, he summoned the 2012 Arms Compendium from within himself and quickly conjured two sets of Special Operations Gear along with some Grenades and Anti-Glare Sunglasses. He tossed one set toward Zhang Ren and smiled as he spoke, "Zhang Ren? Are we heading back now?"
"Back? No way! While that Mysterious Old Taoist isn't here, let's fire off a couple of shots and then leave. Otherwise, we might not get another chance next time," Zhang Ren replied.
Understanding Ye Huan's intent, Zhang Ren reached for a set of Special Operations Gear and donned it. Once dressed, he attached a Grenade to his tactical belt, put on the sunglasses, tucked a Desert Eagle into his waistband, and pulled back the bolt of an M4A1 assault rifle, transforming into a complete special forces soldier.
Mirroring Zhang Ren's actions, Ye Huan also dressed as quickly as possible. He didn't forget to summon two D80 Tiger Tooth Bayonets and a Modification Toolbox to upgrade the two M4A1 rifles by adding Red Dot Sights and a 40mm single-shot Grenade Launcher.
Once everything was ready, Qiao Wei rubbed her eyes in disbelief when she saw Ye Huan and Zhang Ren. It took her a while to realize that everything before her was real. Just as Ye Huan and Zhang Ren were about to step out of the room, Qiao Wei seemed to have made up her mind. She got off the bed and called out to Ye Huan, who had already opened the door, "Ye Huan, wait!"
Turning back in confusion, Ye Huan didn't quite understand why Qiao Wei was calling him now and asked, "Is there something wrong?"
"Well, if you manage to rescue your family, could you take me with you?" Qiao Wei said with a smile, as if she were certain Ye Huan would agree.
Thinking about where the queen resided—most likely in Cining Palace—Ye Huan realized that if they did rescue Liu Ruyan, they would need to leave from that location. He nodded in acknowledgment, considering it an agreement.
Seeing Ye Huan nod, Qiao Wei's smile grew even brighter as she handed him a sachet from her clothing.
"Strange, why do I feel like this scene resembles a man going to war while a woman sends a token of love?"
Zhang Ren looked curiously at Qiao Wei and Ye Huan, muttering to himself, clearly puzzled by the actions of Ye Huan and Qiao Wei. Not only Zhang Ren, but even Ye Huan herself was equally confused, unable to understand what Qiao Wei was playing at.
Without further delay, she casually tucked the sachet into her bosom, held her M4A1 assault rifle, and after surveying the surroundings for patrolling soldiers, Ye Huan and Zhang Ren proceeded westward along the corner.
...
In the Southeast Xiong Empire's palace, Cining Palace was located very close to where Qiao Wei was, merely a few hundred meters away. It was precisely for this reason that Ye Huan had already changed into her Special Operations Gear in Qiao Wei's room instead of wearing the uncomfortable eunuch attire.
After cautiously advancing for some time and avoiding three patrols, Ye Huan quickly set her sights on a magnificent palace with crimson walls and a yellow glazed roof. It was evident that such a palace in the inner court could only be Cining Palace.
Arriving at a corner wall of Cining Palace with Zhang Ren, Ye Huan cursed the 2012 Arms Compendium for lacking listening devices or anything similar; she couldn't even check the situation inside.
Equally perplexed, Zhang Ren didn't know how they should enter Cining Palace and couldn't help but ask Ye Huan, "Ye Huan, how do we get in?"
"You ask me, who should I ask?" Ye Huan rolled her eyes. She wished she could summon a Type 99 main battle tank to crash through the wall and storm inside. Unfortunately, that was just wishful thinking; if there were many skilled fighters inside, who would she cry to?
Just as Ye Huan and Zhang Ren were struggling with how to enter Cining Palace...
In a corner of Cining Palace, Liu Ruyan and Ye Le were quietly sitting in the opulent room. Surrounding them were more than ten Ninth-Level Masters scattered throughout the space. Outside the door, even more Eighth-Level Warriors had been dispatched to stand guard. The entire Cining Palace was evidently set up like a spider's web, just waiting for Ye Huan's appearance...
