In the pouring rain, Weiyang and the others ran for their lives. They knew that even if they stayed behind, they wouldn't be able to help much, after all, not everyone had an attack speed as insane as Ye Huan's.
They ran for what felt like miles until they finally reached a deserted street. Suddenly, the little princess came to a halt, her ample chest heaving with uneven breaths. She grabbed Weiyang's arm and, after a moment of catching her breath, looked towards the outskirts of the slums. It seemed she had made up her mind; she handed Ivy directly to Weiyang and said, "Weiyang, take them away! I need to find Ye Huan."
"What?" "Little Princess?"
In their surprise, both Weiyang and Zhang Ren spoke at the same time. Zhang Ren even called out "Little Princess" without realizing Al was standing beside him.
"Don't say too much. You all need to leave quickly! If someone chases us, none of us will be able to escape," she said, brushing her disheveled hair aside. At that moment, her face was filled with determination.
Not quite understanding what the little princess was thinking, Weiyang hesitated for a moment before handing Ivy's small hand directly to Zhang Ren. He smiled at the little princess and whispered, "I'll go with you! I just called him 'big brother' tonight; it feels too unbrotherly to leave like this..."
"Wait, why are you leaving everything to me? I was planning to go back too!" Zhang Ren protested as he carried Al on his back and held Ivy's hand. He felt like a servant of the Ai family and couldn't help but express his displeasure about having to stay behind.
Looking at Al and Ivy, the little princess was about to persuade Zhang Ren again when a cold voice suddenly rang out behind them:
"You all don't need to go back..."
Outside the slums, Lin Xiao coldly watched the rising smoke from the slums. He had already made up his mind; no matter what, he had to capture Ye Huan and his group for questioning. Of course, this wasn't for his useless brother but to investigate what Ye Huan and his companions were doing in Liangzhou.
As the lord of Liangzhou City, every move in the city was under his watchful eye. He had learned from his subordinates that someone had recently crossed the Northern Liang Mountain Range into Liangzhou. Coupled with Ye Huan's strange attack methods, Lin Xiao couldn't help but connect the two.

At this moment, the heavy rain had stopped, and the sun peeked out uneasily. With a mindset of trying something new, Ye Huan pulled the pin from a flashbang and threw it outside from his shelter while grabbing an M4A1 assault rifle that lay nearby.
As expected by Ye Huan, the soldiers, having learned from others' experiences, immediately closed their eyes tightly. This made Ye Huan's teeth itch with frustration as he gripped his M4A1 assault rifle and pulled the trigger.
A burst of bullets rained down, taking down at least ten soldiers among the enemy ranks. However, their numbers were simply overwhelming; as soon as one fell, another took their place, leaving Ye Huan no chance to carve out a path for escape.
In his frustration, Ye Huan summoned an M67 fragmentation grenade. He pulled the safety pin and tossed it into the crowd. The next moment, a deafening explosion erupted, causing significant casualties among the tightly packed soldiers. While several died on the spot, many others were injured by shrapnel.
Yet, compared to the enemy's numbers, these casualties were hardly significant…
"I'd have been better off breaking through last night!" Ye Huan thought bitterly. Faced with this sea of enemies, he regretted not fighting harder to create an escape route. Now it seemed impossible to leave.
Just as Ye Huan was berating himself, the soldiers in front suddenly parted to form a path. As he focused on this opening, he spotted a glaring bald head shining in the sunlight not far away.
"Lin Xiao, did you really have to go this far just to catch me? Mobilizing so many soldiers..."
Seeing Lin Xiao personally come for him did not fill Ye Huan with any sense of honor; instead, he spoke through gritted teeth.
To be honest, Lin Xiao had initially intended to capture all of Ye Huan's group in one sweep. He hadn't expected that a few would manage to escape despite his swift arrival yesterday. While speaking, Ye Huan wasn't idle; he quickly threw two more M67 fragmentation grenades. After all, they were free, and he felt no regret in using them.
Lin Xiao was taken aback by Ye Huan's refusal to give up even in such dire circumstances. His first instinct upon seeing the grenades was to close his eyes and retreat rapidly, moving back three meters just in time for the grenades to explode with a thunderous roar. Countless fragments shot out in all directions; some even embedded themselves in Lin Xiao's body. Fortunately, he had retreated quickly enough that he sustained only minor injuries—just a few small cuts that bled slightly.
Seeing Lin Xiao injured sparked a surge of energy in Ye Huan. Just as he was about to summon two more grenades, he witnessed something astonishing: right before his eyes, Lin Xiao pulled out a slightly yellowed silver ingot and held it tightly.
In the next moment, the wounds on Lin Xiao's body visibly healed before Ye Huan's eyes as many fragments were expelled from his body and fell to the ground with a crisp sound.
"Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy?" Observing how the silver ingot in Lin Xiao's hand gradually turned silvery-white shocked Ye Huan. It dawned on him why Al had infused those shards of silver with monster cores—it was for easier use!
"That's right; your insight is commendable. You recognize this as Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy. So tell me, shouldn't you surrender now?" Lin Xiao tossed aside the now-empty silver ingot and flexed his wrist while asking Ye Huan.
"Surrender? Don't even think about it!" Facing this monstrous figure before him, Ye Huan wished he could get his hands on a rocket launcher to obliterate him. Unfortunately, with only peak second-tier strength at his disposal, he felt utterly powerless.
In the very next moment after Ye Huan spoke, Lin Xiao suddenly moved. His entire figure left behind a series of afterimages, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared right in front of Ye Huan, not giving him a chance to react before grabbing hold of Ye Huan's collar.

A loud shout suddenly came from outside the soldiers' perimeter, startling them so much that their ears rang. Following that, they witnessed a scene they would never forget: a man dressed in a Black Tailcoat soared effortlessly over their heads like a great goose and landed directly beside Lin Xiao, smiling as he looked at him.
"Who are you?" Lin Xiao instinctively felt a surge of fear as he stared at this man. In his haste to speak, he reached out a hand to grab Ye Huan.
However, before his hand could touch Ye Huan's clothing, a foot clad in thick leather boots kicked him squarely in the chest, sending him flying far away. Following that foot back, it belonged to none other than the man in the Black Tailcoat.
"Cough cough..."
After coughing twice, Ye Huan finally caught his breath once Lin Xiao was sent flying. He looked ahead and was taken aback when he saw the person before him. His eyes widened in surprise as he exclaimed, "Ye Luo?"
