I never knew my hands could be stained with blood like a villain's, unaware that the blood on them was all from one person after two consecutive incidents. 0

Even though several days have passed, when I close my eyes, I can still vividly feel the sensation of the Blood Flame piercing into his body, as if a sharp blade were slicing through the skin, causing not only pain but also bleeding. 0

Every night, I wake up in a dream filled with blood, engulfed by blind darkness that makes me realize for the first time how terrifying it can be. I fear losing control again, terrified of the panic and helplessness that comes from being trapped in darkness, and even more afraid of not being able to find his figure in such a night. 0

"Jun Chong." 0

Tears have flowed until they can flow no more, cycling endlessly. For several days now, he has shown no signs of waking. 0

I hold a bowl of blood and let Tao Wu go inside to feed him. It feels so close yet as if separated by millennia. My heart aches intermittently, the pain of flesh tearing apart spreading throughout my body. 0

"Sister, please don't cry." Tao Wu had been injured as well, but fortunately Shizui helped heal him. However, he couldn't leave the shop; it was too heavy here and could provide some healing effects. 0

He tiptoed, reaching out his chubby little hand to wipe away my tears, but due to his height, he couldn't reach and could only grasp my hand gently. 0

"Seeing you cry makes Tao Wu feel sad too. I believe Lord wouldn't want you to be in tears all day; he must feel very upset about it. He wants to wipe away your tears just like Tao Wu does, but he can't either. So please, don't cry." 0

Tao Wu's words left me stunned for a moment. I shifted my gaze to him and finally smiled lightly, wiping away my tears. 0

"Yes, I believe he will be fine. Shizui said that only by living better can we greet his return with the brightest smile. I firmly believe he will be okay, so I won't cry anymore, and neither will you." 0

I bent down to wipe away his tears and took his hand as we turned to go upstairs. The dimly lit spiral staircase on the first floor was surrounded by massive black pillars where dark energy flickered. The man with half of his face covered by a Sealing Spell moved his fingers slightly and then opened his eyes just a crack; in an instant, red light burst forth from his eyes, swallowing all the darkness. 0

"Shizui, has Tian Yuan come back?" 0

Every day at dawn, I wake up again. With little sleep, my spirit grows weaker. When I saw Shizui return after two days away, I rushed over eagerly and grabbed his hand, asking anxiously, "Is there any news?" 0

Shizui smiled faintly, but disappointment lingered in his eyes. "No. Don't worry; I just checked on Jun Chong. He is much better than before; the wounds on his chest are nearly healed. It should just be a matter of time before he wakes up." 0

"But there's also a possibility he might never wake up, right?" 0

I understood what Shizui meant. Jun Chong had first expended a thousand years of power to seal the Demon Fetus and then was injured by the Blood Flame. After sustaining injuries while trying to break the seal again, he was hurt once more by the Blood Flame. When Shizui placed him into the pillar, I felt that he was even colder than before; the color of his soul flickered transparently. 0

This is currently the only place in the world that can shelter him, much like medical equipment for humans; keeping a person in a vegetative state alive is easy, but waking them up is not something that can be achieved overnight. 0

Seeing that I remained silent, Shizui reached out to ruffle my hair, a faint sigh escaping his lips. 0

"Anxin, I don't know how to persuade you to be happy. I just want to tell you that when a person dies, it means the separation of body and soul, as well as their disappearance from another's heart. The former is a result of natural fate, while the latter is the only barrier that keeps that person alive in this world. In other words, as long as you don't give up, as long as you remember forever, even if they never appear again, they still live on." 0

His long fingers rested gently over my heart, his tone growing softer. 0

"Live here within you. It won't be forgotten with the loss of memory; even if one drinks Meng Po Soup and is reincarnated, when you meet again, this place will still stir with a different heartbeat. That is true love." 0

I lowered my head, my body trembling slightly. I looked up at him in shock; Shizui smiled faintly, his expression gentle like rippling water. "Rou Er holds such a place in my heart, and you know better than I do what position Jun Chong occupies in yours." 0

I bit my lip lightly, feeling the skin turn pale under my teeth. Lowering my gaze to the rise and fall of my chest, I finally let out a silent laugh, unable to utter a single word. 0

He was right; even if memories fade, the heart will always remember. I must have faith in Jun Chong; only when he awakens can I confess to him. 0

Another day passed. Each day I sat on the sofa as usual, staring blankly at Jun Chong inside the cylinder. 0

At that moment, my phone rang; it was my mother calling. She asked why she hadn't seen me since I returned. I explained that Jun Chong was sick and that's why I left. 0

Upon hearing this, my mother became anxious and said she wanted to come see me. I quickly stopped her and reassured her a few times before hanging up. Just then, someone walked in from outside. They looked somewhat familiar, but I couldn't recall who they were at first. 0

She remembered me though. Taking a couple of steps closer and looking at my haggard appearance with surprise, she exclaimed, "Gu Anxin! How did you end up like this? Is it because of Brother Chu Fan's death?" 0

"Chu Fan?" The name felt somewhat vague in my mind; it took me a moment to react. "You are Jiang Xiaorou?" 0

"Hah! You still remember!" Jiang Xiaorou crossed her arms defiantly and looked at me with an air of superiority. "What are you doing here? Where's Shizui?" 0

"Shizui?" A smile crept onto my face when I heard her call his name; my eyes flickered with understanding as I pointed upstairs. "Shizui is upstairs handling some photos." 0

"I'm going to find him." 0

Jiang Xiaorou stepped past me in her high heels and headed upstairs. As she ascended the stairs, the air currents within the cylinder rippled violently; numerous black hands reached out to grasp her ankles. Just as they were about to make contact, they were repelled by a burst of golden light emanating from her body. 0

Suddenly, the air surged, and Jun Chong's voice trembled. I heard the little spirits shouting in my ear, "She has a talisman on her; it feels terrible." 0

Shizui mentioned that talismans and protective charms are positive objects that could harm Jun Chong, which is why there had been hardly any customers in the shop lately. Shizui even dismissed the staff just to be safe. 0

When Jiang Xiaorou arrived, I had forgotten about this detail. It was only when I heard the commotion that I remembered and quickly got up to pull her down from the stairs. 0

I didn't know how my strength had become so great; I merely tugged at her clothes lightly, yet Jiang Xiaorou tumbled down the stairs and twisted her ankle. 0

She let out a sharp scream and glared at me fiercely. "Gu Anxin, what are you doing? What did I do to deserve this?" 0

"I—" I looked at my hands and could only say to her, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." 0

"This wasn't intentional?" Jiang Xiaorou said angrily. "Now I understand. You liked Brother Chu Fan before, but now that he's dead, you've shifted your target to Shizui. You got jealous when you saw me looking for him, right? You wicked woman, how can you be so cruel? Just wait until I poke at your pride!" 0

"He won't like you." 0

To me, Jiang Xiaorou was just a young girl with clear-cut feelings of love and hate. I couldn't interfere with whom she liked; it was just that Shizui was a different matter. But when she heard this, she became even more furious. "Who said that? Shizui came looking for me yesterday!" 0

"Really?" I turned to see Shizui coming down the stairs, seemingly inquiring. He merely smiled calmly at the scene and helped Jiang Xiaorou up. "Come sit over here." 0

Seeing him gently checking her injury, Jiang Xiaorou raised an eyebrow at me, her tone flirtatious. "Shizui, I'm in so much pain. She suddenly pulled me down and wouldn't let me get close to you, even insulting me." 0

Shizui glanced at me and suddenly said, "Anxin, apologize quickly!" 0

His tone was serious; it was the first time I'd seen him ask me to apologize for a woman. Feeling reluctant inside, I asked, "Why?" 0

"You pulled her down, right?" 0

"Yes." 0

"Then that was wrong. If you're wrong, you need to apologize." 0

With Shizui's support, Jiang Xiaorou appeared particularly pleased, raising her chin in provocation. "Hurry up." 0

"I—" I felt a surge of anger inside, but considering Shizui's character, I knew there had to be some ulterior motive behind his actions. So, despite my displeasure, I suppressed it and said, "I'm sorry." 0

Shizui smiled in satisfaction and got up to fetch the medicine box. He took off Jiang Xiaorou's shoes to apply the medicinal alcohol, making her even more embarrassed. "Shizui brother, this is too much." 0

"It's fine. If it hurts, just let me know." 0

Watching them interact made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Even though I knew Shizui likely had his own agenda, it still bothered me to see it unfold. So I said, "I'm going out for a bit." 0

Shizui paused for a moment before replying, "Don't stay out too late." 0

I waved my hand and stepped outside alone. It had been several days since I had last seen the sun, and it felt overwhelmingly bright. I didn't plan to go far; I turned a corner just ahead and bumped into someone. 0

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to—" I looked up to apologize, only to see the person smiling gently. They then wrapped their arms around me, and a familiar voice called out softly in my ear, "Anxin, long time no see." 0

I was momentarily stunned. "Qizhi." 0

He released me but didn't let go of my hand. His gaze was filled with an uncontainable tenderness as he looked down at me, his fingers brushing against my cheek. "You've suffered so much; why do you have to torture yourself like this? He's just using you— is it worth it?" 0

I had initially lowered my gaze, but upon hearing the latter part of his statement, I shot my eyes up to meet his, frowning slightly. "What do you mean he's using me?" 0

Qizhi showed no surprise at my reaction. "I mean it literally. Jun Chong has been exploiting you and the Demon Fetus inside you to successfully unlock the First Seal." 0
