As I opened my eyes again, I found myself lying comfortably in bed. Lin You, with red and swollen eyes, was sitting at the head of the bed. Upon seeing me awake, she immediately rushed over. 0

Instinctively, I recoiled in fear, causing Lin You's hand to hover awkwardly in the air as she looked at me in confusion. "Anxin, what's wrong?" 0

It was then that I realized I was in a hospital. An IV drip was attached to my hand, and bright light streamed in from outside, dispelling the darkness and cold. 0

"Anxin, please don't scare me. When I turned around yesterday, I found you lying on the floor with your eyes rolled back, your clothes disheveled, limbs stiff, and you were spitting blood. I nearly died of fright! I rushed you to the hospital, and the doctor said you were in shock and needed to rest. Can you hear me? Anxin, it's me, Lin You!" 0

I stared blankly at Lin You; she looked just like before but much paler than usual, as if she had lost all color. 0

"If you don't comply, she will die." 0

A voice suddenly flashed through my mind, causing me to shudder violently. I then tightly embraced Lin You and couldn't help but cry out loud. 0

"Anxin, don't worry! I called the doctor to check on you. That person... you're still whole; that person definitely hasn't—" 0

"No! I think that person is a ghost!" 0

I couldn't take it anymore and stammered out everything that had happened last night to Lin You. For someone experienced, this might be trivial, but for us, it was completely uncharted territory; we didn't know how to face it. 0

She was also frightened and quickly pulled out a mirror to check her face. "Oh no, my complexion really does look pale! You better compensate me! I still need this face to charm some young hunks!" 0

The calm tone and exaggerated gestures made me laugh. 0

"I'm glad you're laughing. Even if it's not humanly possible, we still have to be strong," Lin You said, always embodying the spirit of a big sister. Although she would cry when faced with difficulties, she was quicker to bounce back than I was. "I'll call my grandfather and ask him what’s going on." 0

Lin You's grandfather was a Taoist priest, and he understood these matters far better than we did. 0

"Okay." 0

I nodded; given the situation, there was nothing more we could do for now. 0

Lin You quickly dialed her grandfather's number and handed me the phone. "Grandpa wants to talk to you." 0

I took a deep breath and slowly exhaled before taking the phone. "Hello, Grandpa Lin." 0

"Anxin, what’s going on? Tell me everything," he urged. 0

I recounted everything from the wedding to last night’s events without leaving anything out. Grandpa Lin immediately asked, "Have you taken anything or used your own blood?" 0

After thinking for a moment, I replied, "About half a month ago, I bought an ancient hairpin at the Antique Market. I used my blood to remove the rust on it. Does that matter?" 0

Grandpa Lin paused for a while before letting out a heavy sigh. He said to me, "Child, it's not that I can't help you; it's just that there's nothing I can do in this situation. As long as you don't go against it, you won't be in danger." 0

His words left me completely stunned. If even a Taoist priest couldn't help, did that mean I would really have to continue being haunted by that ghost? Since the call was on speakerphone, Lin You also heard and gasped in shock. "Grandpa, what does that mean? Please explain!" 0

"The hairpin is the Betrothal Gift. When you gave it your blood, you agreed to marry him. That dream was your wedding in the underworld, known as a Ghost Marriage. It's registered in the afterlife, just like our civil registry office; it's fair and just. Regardless of whether you were aware of it beforehand, this situation cannot be changed. Child, be wise; as long as you go along with him, aside from not being able to divorce, you can still live a long life. It's just—" 0

"Just what? Grandpa, please continue. I can handle it." 0

I spoke lightly, but my heart was already overwhelmed. Marrying a ghost and not being able to divorce—was this how my life would end? 0

"It's just that you will never be able to marry anyone else in this lifetime, nor can you find someone to exorcise him, because if you do, you will die too. The result of a Ghost Marriage is either living alone in loneliness or dying together with him. There are no other options." 0

My hand slipped, and my phone fell. Lin You picked it up without understanding and exchanged a few words with Grandpa Lin before hanging up. Hesitantly, he walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my trembling body. 0

"Anxin, be strong. Even if you marry a ghost, I won't abandon you. I will face it with you; at worst, I won't marry anyone either and will stay by your side." 0

Lin You's selfless devotion made me smile. Although I knew it was impossible, having someone like him by my side at this moment made me truly grateful. 0

Even if tomorrow brings darkness and despair, I will walk forward with strength. Nothing is absolute; there must be a chance. I await the arrival of that Miracle. 0
