A hand repeatedly caressed my skin from the bottom up, sending waves of shivers through the places it touched. A nimble tongue traced my lips, bringing a cool, moist sensation that was unexpectedly pleasant rather than the disgust I had anticipated.
I even heard a soft hum escape my lips.
At my age, it was a normal reaction to have such desires, especially since I had never been with a man before.
"Does it feel good? Do you want more?"
A slight chuckle accompanied the chilling sensation that penetrated deep inside me, and I instantly snapped back to reality.
In that moment, what spread through me was no longer the comfort of a dream but a piercing panic.
I realized I couldn't move. All I could see was darkness; I couldn't make out the person's face, but I could clearly sense him pressing down on me, his fingers skillfully stirring.
"You just got married last night, and now you're ready to flirt with another man, Gu Anxin. Do you think that's acceptable?"
A series of giggles echoed in my ears as a cool, dampness enveloped my earlobe. A playful tongue licked at it, and the laughter seeped deep into my eardrums.
"Tonight is our wedding night; there's no way you're getting away."
The pressure on me suddenly vanished completely. I opened my eyes to find myself in bed, with bright sunlight streaming in from outside.
My clothes were in disarray, so what happened earlier definitely occurred.
A lump lodged in my throat, unable to be swallowed or voiced.
The dream from last night echoed again—could it really not have been a dream?
I was so frightened that I couldn't bear to stay alone in my room. I rushed out without thinking, just as Lin You walked in with some food and saw me in such a disheveled state.
"Anxin, what happened?"
In my fear, I recounted the earlier events to Lin You. She believed it must be a prank; if it were truly a ghost, how could my clothes have been removed?
"Since he said he wants to consummate tonight, let's catch him in the act."
Lin You's family was involved in big business, and she was quick on her feet. She gathered several bodyguards to stand watch at my apartment door, with two more in the lobby and others lurking outside on the balcony. It was a tight security setup; anyone trying to enter would surely be caught.
Somehow, Lin You had acquired a Bagua Mirror, a Peach Wood Sword, and various talismans, which she spread throughout my entire bedroom before clapping her hands together.
"All set. If it's a person, we have the numbers on our side. If it's a ghost, with these tools, we can rest easy. Anxin, don't worry; nothing will happen."
Seeing Lin You's confident demeanor warmed my heart, even though I knew the likelihood of it being human was slim.
After all, that man had mentioned last night's dream—a matter I hadn't shared with anyone.
“Xiao You, aren't you afraid that I'm lying to you?”
While checking the small surveillance camera on the cabinet door, Lin You turned back and winked at me. “Lying to you? What would I gain from that?”
I was instantly overwhelmed with emotion. Throughout my life, Lin You had given me so much help; she was my only friend. Her unconditional trust in me mirrored my own unwavering belief in her. That was the essence of our friendship.
The moon climbed into the night sky, its silver light pouring down, battling against the thick darkness.
Lin You sat in front of the computer watching a drama while I took off my Hairpin and placed it on the bedside. I lay down on the bed, wide awake. In this state, sleep was impossible, so I simply picked up a novel from beside my pillow and began to read.
But as soon as I opened it, a large mouth appeared on the page, its bright red lips moving up and down. A teasing voice penetrated my eardrums. “Wife, do you miss me?”
My scream got stuck in my throat as I noticed that the lights in the bedroom had gone out. Darkness surged in an instant, and that familiar chill gradually enveloped me, refusing to dissipate.
“Wife, I miss you so much.”
His hand was as cold as ice, inching across my skin and sending shivers through me.
The touch was the same as last time but didn’t bring the same comfort. My heart raced as I felt suspended, unable to move an inch.
