“Do you know about the Dark Goddess? No! I won’t tell you! I’ll never tell you!” roared the Lion Beast, leading the group.
Li Xiaonan shrugged and said, “Of course! If you’re dead, you can’t tell me anything. What kind of logic is that? Your goddess has turned into a statue; are you afraid I’ll do something inappropriate to her? Now, tell me, where have you hidden her?”
The Lion Beast was momentarily taken aback, unsure how to respond. He quickly shook his head and declared, “You’ll never find out where the goddess’s statue is from me. Even if you kill me, I won’t tell you that the statue is hidden in Maima Mountain!”
“Boss!” Many of the fierce beasts who had just gotten up rolled their eyes again and collapsed once more.
The Lion Beast was strong and tough-skinned; even the golden fur spikes on his body could be used as weapons. In terms of strength, all these fierce beasts acknowledged him as their leader.
However, his only flaw was that he wasn’t very bright, as evidenced by his earlier statement.
Li Xiaonan stroked his chin and smiled, “Hmm! You’re really tight-lipped. I bet you won’t even tell me where Maima Mountain is!”
The Lion Beast still hadn’t realized his mistake. He puffed out his chest and proudly proclaimed, “Of course not! Why would I tell you that Maima Mountain is three thousand miles north of here!”
Li Xiaonan nodded and said, “Well, the goddess will be pleased with your loyalty! Thank you!”
Then he turned to the black dragon behind him and waved his right hand, saying, “Brothers! Let’s go!”
“Roar!” The unified roar of thirty-five black dragons filled the air as they soared into the sky.
Li Xiaonan sat atop the lead dragon, Black High, and commanded, “Three thousand miles north to Maima Mountain—let’s set off!”
As he left, he didn’t forget to smile and wave at the fierce beasts, indulging in a moment of leadership.
The Lion Beast stood frozen in place, realizing with dread, “What does he want at Maima Mountain? Oh no! The goddess’s statue! How could he know she’s in Maima Mountain?”
Following closely behind the Lion Beast, a Rhino said, "Boss, it's not what you said!"
"How could that be? I keep my mouth shut; when did I ever say anything?"
"Alright, stop the chatter and chase after them!" shouted the Wind Wolf, its silver fur glistening.
Dust rose from the yellow ground as they moved.
Black High glanced down at the pursuing beasts behind him and asked, "Big Brother, should we go down and fight them again?"
Li Xiaonan shook his head. "As the saying goes, don't chase a desperate foe. If we push them too hard, it might backfire on us. Besides, if we have to judge right from wrong, we're actually in the wrong."
"We?" Black High turned his head toward Li Xiaonan in confusion.
"If someone were to charge into Black Dragon Stronghold and steal something, would you be happy about it?"
"Well..."
"It's the same principle. These fierce beasts may not be clever, but that doesn't mean they lack wisdom. They know how to protect those they care about, just like you protected me before."
Heiwa, following behind Black High, asked, "Are you talking about that Dark Goddess?"
Li Xiaonan smiled and nodded. "You're still sharp."
"Big Brother, what do you want with that goddess?" Heikai asked as he flew beside Heiwa.
"Nothing much, just trying to talk to her and see if she can temporarily shelter you."
"Big Brother! What do you mean by that?" Black High frowned.
"Hiding one's light and biding one's time, a counterattack in desperate circumstances!" Li Xiaonan slowly uttered these eight words before closing his eyes to rest.
The Black Dragon moved swiftly, but the ferocious beast was even faster. The Black Dragon set off first, yet it took the ferocious beast a whole tea's worth of time to catch up.
"You shameless scoundrels tricked me into revealing the goddess's location! Hmph! You will never get close to her!" Lion Beast roared, his muscles bulging.
Li Xiaonan felt a headache coming on; he truly did not want to waste words with this dim-witted lion.
He took a deep breath, channeling Divine Infant, and with the power of a Demigod, he directly intertwined himself with the rules of this realm.
Little did Li Xiaonan know the danger of this action!
Even though he had already ascended to godhood, such a move could very well provoke a deadly counterattack from his opponents!
The realm created by the gods is akin to a maiden's secret garden, impervious to intrusion. Li Xiaonan's actions were enough to bring about his own demise.
Moreover, he was not yet a god; he was merely a Demigod.
The master of the Dark World seemed to have little reaction to Li Xiaonan's excessive behavior. Was it due to being overly thick-skinned? Or had he turned into a statue?
The ferocious beasts led by Lion Beast felt their bodies sink as if an overwhelming Divine Power pressed them down to the ground, rendering them immobile in an instant.
They immediately guessed that it was Li Xiaonan's doing and stared blankly at him.
Not only were they shocked by his power, but they were also awestruck by the familiar Heaven and Earth Principle.
The Lion Beast slowly raised its head and said, "Who... who are you? Why do you possess such Divine Power, just like the goddess?"
Li Xiaonan shrugged and replied, "I'm on the same path as your goddess. I just want to ask for her help. She's been sealed away for a while now; it's time for her to see the light again!"
The Lion Beast's pupils widened in excitement as it exclaimed, "You... you mean you can break the goddess's seal?"
"Yes." Li Xiaonan nodded slowly, narrowing his eyes.
Although he wasn't sure if he had the ability to break a divine seal, he wanted to try. After all, he had too many questions to ask.
For instance, where is the divine realm? If one becomes a god, can they return to the immortal realm?
If returning was impossible forever, then Li Xiaonan decided he would not become a god!
After all, the path to immortality is not one that everyone can walk successfully, and the same goes for becoming a god. If one fails, they would naturally be reduced to ashes.
He didn't want to see his loved ones walk down a dead-end path just to follow in his footsteps.
It wasn't that he lacked confidence; it was that he didn't dare to gamble. If he won, it would be a joyous occasion for all. But if he lost, it would be an irreversible disaster.
"Alright! I'll take you there!" The Lion Beast's large eyes gleamed like copper bells. "If you dare deceive me, we will self-destruct together without hesitation!"
Li Xiaonan nodded in agreement and waved his right hand, causing the other beasts to feel lighter instantly.
The Lion Beast added, "Only you can enter! These crawlers have no right to touch the goddess's beauty!"
"Okay." Li Xiaonan glanced back at Black High and the others. "Wait for me outside."
The group of Black Dragons, although worried about Li Xiaonan, were also familiar with his capabilities and couldn't help but nod in agreement.
Lion Beast led Rhino and Wind Wolf along a narrow path up the mountain, with Li Xiaonan closely following behind.
Looking out over the entire Dark World, only Maima Mountain showed a hint of green; the rest was a desolate expanse of yellow earth that felt unsettlingly barren.
Yet beneath this desolation lay a vast amount of Celestial Stone, with Spiritual Veins almost everywhere—truly a place blessed by nature.
Li Xiaonan followed Lion Beast through a series of twists and turns until they finally arrived at the entrance of a cave.
Lion Beast said, "The Goddess is inside. Follow me."
The cave was small, easily visible from one end to the other.
Inside, it was empty and desolate. Li Xiaonan frowned slightly and said, "Are you messing with me?"
Lion Beast stood at the cave entrance, stunned and ignoring Li Xiaonan. Meanwhile, Rhino and Wind Wolf rushed inside, exclaiming loudly, "Goddess? The statue is gone! We lost the Goddess! Wah..."
They began to cry uncontrollably.
Li Xiaonan felt a headache coming on and thought to himself: Did the statue run away on legs?
What was going on?
Lion Beast suddenly snapped back to reality, glaring at Li Xiaonan and demanding, "Speak! Did you take the Goddess away?"
"Flower Rubbing! What are you talking about? I came in here with you! If you're going to be stupid, at least have some standards! Let me ask you—how long has it been since you last visited this cave?"
"Wind Wolf" sniffed and said, "Ever since we moved the statue in here, we haven't stepped inside even once..."
"Come on... Don't say that. Your goddess might have already left this realm. Lion, since your master isn't here, this is your chance to speak up. I need to leave the Black Dragon here for a while."
"Why should I! No way!" "Lion Beast" refused without a second thought.
"Why? Because my fists are bigger than yours! Do you believe that I can make you experience the pain of life and death without even lifting a finger?"
"Lion Beast" shuddered inexplicably and said, "Fine! I'll agree, but you have to help us find the goddess!"
"Of course!"
"Lion Beast" glanced at his two brothers and took a deep breath. "Deal!"
A day later, "Heiming" and "Heiyan" brought the other two Black Dragons from the other mountain peaks as promised. "Li Xiaonan" briefly explained his plan and tossed everyone into the "Dark World," while he happily returned to the outside of "Dragon Valley."
Counting the days, "Mo Li" and "Mo You" should be arriving soon.
Looking at the empty space outside "Dragon Valley," "Li Xiaonan" couldn't help but smile as he raised his hand.
A "Pavilion" rose into existence out of thin air.
"Li Xiaonan" lounged in an "Armchair," playing with "Black Sha."
An "Azure Light" streaked across the sky, heading straight for "Dragon Valley." With a flick of his fingers, "Li Xiaonan" lightly sighed, causing the "Azure Light" to stop mid-air, cursing, "Which bastard is it? Are you tired of living?"
"Chief, it's been a tough journey. Come down for some tea!"
Mo You focused his gaze and exclaimed, "What are you doing here, kid?"
"Heh, the clan leader arrives so early! Mo Li hasn't returned yet! I've got some fine Celestial Tea and heavenly fruits here. Care for a taste?"
"I don't want any! Hmph! What are you doing here? Didn't you say you wouldn't care about the Azure Dragon Clan anymore?"
Li Xiaonan chuckled, "It's not that I don't want to care, but if there's a chance to benefit the clan leader, I still want to take a look!"
He put away the tea stand and flew over to Mo You, saying, "Please take me to see our Azure Dragon Clan's young talents!"
"Hmph! Don't get too excited, kid. It's not easy for a human to become the leader of the dragon clan! Even with my guarantee, those youngsters won't submit to you!"
Li Xiaonan scoffed and thought to himself: Who cares! If it weren't for Ling'er and Father-in-law, I wouldn't bother with this mess!
Mo You frowned and sighed, "I wonder if the young Azure Dragon can survive this trial!" As soon as he finished speaking, he teleported with Li Xiaonan to Azure Dragon Mountain.
Li Xiaonan glanced around casually and thought: Just as destitute as the White Dragon, but definitely better off than the Black Dragon.
"All you youngsters come out! The Dragon King has returned!"
Looking at the familiar green mountains, Mo You couldn't help but smile, though his furrowed brow remained tense.
"Welcome back, Dragon King!" In just a second, eleven Azure Dragons knelt in unison before Mo You.
However, their gazes were fixed on Li Xiaonan behind Mo You, filled with confusion and even more disdain.
