Li Xiaonan chuckled lightly, flipping his left hand to reveal another wooden box.
Gu Ming, filled with excitement, shouted, "I want it! I want it!"
Li Xiaonan glanced at him and said, "Calm down, senior."
He released Gu Ming's hand and plopped back down on the ground. "Adoptive father, that brush of yours has been with you for many years, right? The spirit of the tool should have taken shape by now. As your son, I haven't shown you much filial piety; this is just a small token of my respect."
Duan Yu nodded with a smile, too lazy to be polite and directly accepted the Demon Infant.
"Xiao Nan won't disturb you two any longer. Even if there's not enough time to nurture the spirit of the tool in a month, at least it can develop some level of consciousness. I believe it will be more effective when facing the demon race."
As Li Xiaonan spoke, he walked toward the door. Lingyun seemed to finally snap back to reality and hurriedly said, "Thank you, young brother!"
"Brother Yun, you're too polite. Just call me Xiao Nan from now on." He smiled as he stepped outside, with Gu Ming following closely behind, looking rather lecherous.
The two walked out of the bamboo house in silence, meandering through the vast Underworld Demon Sea.
Gu Ming could no longer hold back and exclaimed, "Hey! Kid! Where are you planning to go? When are you going to give me the Demon Infant?"
Hearing this, Li Xiaonan suddenly stopped and laughed, "Why should I give it to you?"
"You! You little brat! Do you believe I’ll destroy you? At that point, I’ll naturally find the Demon Infant on your body!"
Li Xiaonan extended a finger and shook it from side to side. "That’s not right! I'm neither a carrot nor a cabbage; how could it be so easy for you to destroy me?"
Gu Ming glared at Li Xiaonan with resentment, but from their brief exchange, he understood that Li Xiaonan was speaking the truth; it was uncertain who would emerge victorious.
He took a deep breath and forced a smile. "We can be friends, right? Isn't that right, little brother?"
Li Xiaonan scoffed, curling his lip. "I only make friends with Rich People! What benefits can you offer me?"
Gu Ming scratched his head. "I can give you spirit stones!"
"I have plenty of those."
"Then how about I give you Spiritual Pills!"
"My grandfather is Mei Qingdan. Do you think I lack pills?"
"Damn it! What do you want then? I just Transcended Tribulation, and all my treasures were used up against the Tribulation Lightning! I'm broke! To be honest, I came to the Underworld Demon Sea this time to pick up some treasures amidst the chaos!"
Suddenly, Gu Ming seemed to go mad, rambling incoherently as he spun in place.
Li Xiaonan chuckled, as if he were looking at his own Mad Master. Scattered Immortals and Loose Cultivators all shared a common trait: their wealth was not obvious!
He sighed, deciding not to continue making things difficult for Gu Ming. With a wave of his hand, he tossed a wooden box over.
Gu Ming hurriedly caught it, his face filled with shock. "I don't have anything to give you!"
Li Xiaonan waved his hand dismissively. "No need for that. I was just joking with you earlier. In this great battle, I hope you can lend your strength; every additional person adds more power!"
"Are you really not going to let me give you something?" Gu Ming said, clutching the wooden box tightly to his chest, as if afraid Li Xiaonan would change his mind.
"Of course not!" Li Xiaonan replied with a faint smile, cupping his hands in a gesture of farewell.
"Hey! Li kid, I owe you a favor!"
Gu Ming's voice called out from behind, but Li Xiaonan merely shook his head with a smile.
At that moment, the night was dark and windy, perfect for sneaky business. Li Xiaonan struck a pose in mid-air, contemplating how to find his wives.
Just then, someone suddenly exclaimed from behind, "Li Xiaoyang, what are you pretending for? Gu Ming has already left! Aren't you tired of bending over?" Duan Yu's unexpected arrival caught him off guard.
Li Xiaonan shook his hair elegantly in the cold wind and turned around with a smile. "Father, what brings you here so late? It wouldn't be anything embarrassing, would it? I don't like throwing soap nor picking it up!"
"Huh? What are you talking about? I need to talk to you!" Duan Yu's eyes flashed with urgency. He had been waiting for a chance to be alone with Li Xiaonan, but now it seemed difficult to find even a moment to speak privately.
"Hehe, it's nothing. Just joking. What do you need me for, Father?" Li Xiaonan chuckled lightly.
Duan Yu sighed helplessly. "Sigh... You still have the mood to joke at a time like this. There's no one else here; I need to ask you something, and you must answer honestly!"
"I really don't have any daughters!" Li Xiaonan said nervously.
"Huh?" Duan Yu was taken aback, his beautiful eyes widening in surprise.
Li Xiaonan cleared his throat. "Ahem, go ahead and ask."
“Where has Ni Zhi gone? Is his disappearance related to you?”
“Sigh... Father, I really don’t want to put you in a difficult position. It’s better if you don’t know about this matter,” Li Xiaonan said, his hands clasped behind his back, gazing solemnly at the bright moon behind Duan Yu.
Duan Yu furrowed his brow, increasingly convinced that Ni Zhi's disappearance was undoubtedly connected to Li Xiaonan. He frowned slightly and said coldly, “Do you know that the Outer Academy has sent down celestial beings? They will definitely investigate Ni Zhi's disappearance.”
“Father, right now the Demon War is on the verge of breaking out. The celestial beings have no time to look into this matter, so please don’t worry,” Li Xiaonan replied dismissively, flicking his sleeve.
“You brat, do you even consider me your father?” Duan Yu was angry; Li Xiaonan had been evasive and had not gotten to the point after all this talk.
Li Xiaonan looked at the flushed face of the jade-faced scholar and sighed, “Father, have you ever considered me your son?”
He smiled as he turned away, leaving behind a figure that sparked imagination. He said lightly, “Father, just because I don’t speak doesn’t mean I’m unaware. You are the Grand Elder of the Outer Academy; I know sometimes it’s hard for you to act, but…”
He suddenly turned around, his eyes shimmering with a ghostly light as he coldly stared at Duan Yu. “Where were you when Ni Zhi was trying to take my life? Which is more important: your position as Grand Elder or my life? Do you know how much suffering Ni Zhi has caused me? Ling Kui died because of him!”
“What do you have to say about all this?” Li Xiaonan’s eyes reddened slightly, his expression icy, as if he might pounce on Duan Yu and bite him fiercely at any moment.
Duan Yu had never expected Li Xiaonan to suddenly lash out; he staggered back a few steps in shock, unsure of what to say.
Li Xiaonan chuckled lightly. “Father, people always grow. I am no longer that foolish boy from years ago. There are things I may not say aloud, but I see everything clearly. I consider you a father; will you continue to see me as your son? Or… at critical moments, will you still uphold righteousness over kinship?”
Duan Yu frowned deeply, lost in thought.
Li Xiaonan sighed; he knew he couldn’t push Duan Yu too hard. He spoke gently, “Father, I’ll go prepare to request the Divine Dragon Cannon. I hope that when I return, we can stand on the same front.”
He smiled as he flew away, leaving Duan Yu in a daze.
After a long while, Duan Yu finally came to his senses and said, "You little rascal! Forcing me to choose sides! Sigh... you've really grown up..."
At that moment, Li Xiaonan also found his Wives. He snapped his fingers, and all the Li Xiaonan who were busy flirting with the girls instantly transformed into a shadow.
The women were startled and shot a reproachful glance at the culprit.
"How could you bear to come back?" Yun Moyu said irritably.
"Sigh... you bunch of bad girls, seeing me misunderstood and bullied by the Taoist, yet you didn't help me explain. All you do is get cozy with other men!" Li Xiaonan pouted in grievance.
"Pfft! What do you mean other men?" Yun Moyu angrily twisted Li Xiaonan's ear.
"Hehe! That's nice!" Instead of crying out in pain, Li Xiaonan laughed happily.
Yun Moyu was taken aback and withdrew her hand. "Are you crazy?"
"No! I just regret splitting myself. Come here! Everyone gather around!" He waved his hands, pulling each girl into his embrace, laughing, "Even though they are all me, it's still better when it's just one!"
"You silly thing, do you think we enjoy being with so many of you at once?" Li Yanrong teased with a giggle.
"I was wrong! I'm willing to be punished!"
Lu Nishang clapped her hands and said, "Punish Brother Xiaonan by making him kiss us, one for each!"
Li Xiaonan laughed heartily, "Good! Dear!" As he spoke, he planted kisses on the faces of the girls.
"Ouch! Boss, that's so cheesy!"
Li Xiaonan was taken aback when a mass of black mist slowly transformed into a human shape. He exclaimed, "Little Jin? You’re here too?"
Chen Yaojin glanced at the girls and waved him over.
Li Xiaonan frowned slightly and walked to his side.
Chen Yaojin grabbed his collar and leaned in close to whisper, "Xiao Bei's mom is here!"
"What!" the girls exclaimed in unison.
Li Xiaonan grimaced, thinking to himself: How could you steal my line? He was about to ask who had arrived.
The girls again chorused, "Who is it?"
Chen Yaojin, startled, immediately hid behind Li Xiaonan. "It’s... it’s Luna..."
Li Xiaonan was shocked, his mind conjuring an image of the exotic woman as he murmured, "Is it her? Where is she now?"
Chen Yaojin nervously fiddled with his clothes, casting furtive glances at his sisters. With one hand, he gestured in the air, and a cute little horse appeared, holding a bottle of wine upside down.
Yun Moyu frowned and angrily said, "Little Jin, are you itching for trouble? Are you really trying to play riddles with us?"
Lu Nishang lightly tapped her red lips and suddenly jumped up, exclaiming, "I know! I know! Pour the wine right away!"
Li Xiaonan patted Lu Nishang's head and laughed, "It should be 'pour the wine right away, it will be here soon!'"
He was startled by his own words and stared blankly at Chen Yaojin.
The latter grinned, looking more pained than amused, and gave a thumbs-up, indicating that Li Xiaonan was indeed clever.
"Xiao Nan..." A blonde, blue-eyed beauty appeared before them, radiating elegance and grace. Of course, the most stunning feature was the pair of delicate silver wings adorned with pink patterns on her back.
She gently fluttered them, paired with a coy expression that few men could resist.
This was also the first time the other girls had seen Luna, and they were immediately captivated by her regal aura.
Li Xiaonan's eyes widened in shock, transforming him into a stunned goldfish as he murmured, "Luna... Luna..."
The Spirit Tree in the Spirit Platform suddenly trembled, its intertwined roots extending to touch something solid.
It turned out to be a wooden box. Li Xiaonan thought to himself: When did this box appear in the Spirit Platform? How come I didn't know? Let me try to poke it open and see.
"Ugh..." A wave of dizziness washed over him as he pressed his forehead; a sharp pain exploded in his mind.
Li Xiaonan rolled his eyes and fell directly from the air, but a group of women hurriedly caught him.
