After this incident, Jiang Yiheng completely changed his opinion of Jiang Shiyan and allowed her to officially intern at the pet hospital.
On her first day at work, Jiang Shiyan happily cleaned the lobby when she suddenly caught sight of a Spaniel sitting at the entrance of the pet hospital. Its fur was dirty and matted, and it was holding up a bloodied paw. Upon meeting Jiang Shiyan's gaze, the Spaniel became restless.
"Woof woof, hello! I'm a Police Dog stolen by a Villain. Can you help me?"
Jiang Shiyan quickly picked him up and called for Jiang Yiheng to come treat him. Soon, several doctors rushed over after hearing the commotion; the dog looked severely injured.
"Yanyan, where did you find him?"
"He came to me on his own. He's a Police Dog who escaped after being taken by bad people." As soon as she finished speaking, everyone froze in shock.
Colleague Lily was curious, "Yanyan, how do you know he's a Police Dog?"
"He told me."
Jiang Yiheng replied irritably, "This girl is talking nonsense; don't pay attention to her."
"Lily, notify Doctor Chen to prepare for surgery."
The Spaniel was very excited. "Can you understand what I'm saying?"
Jiang Shiyan gently patted his head. "I can understand you. Don't be afraid; my brother is the best Veterinarian."
The surgery for Police Dog Nine was very successful, but he might have some lasting effects like a limp in the future.
Jiang Shiyan rushed over as soon as she heard Little Jiu wake up, only to see Little Jiu struggling to get away. She quickly stopped him, urging him not to move around.
"Little Yanyan, can you take me back? My Instructor must be worried, and I still need to catch the Villain," he said.
"But you're hurt right now."
"I'm not in pain."
As Little Jiu spoke, he tried to stand up to prove his point to Jiang Shiyan. However, after a few seconds of straining, he collapsed again. Jiang Shiyan looked at him with a mix of concern and admiration.
After confirming the name of Little Jiu's Instructor, Jiang Shiyan immediately called the police and reported what she had learned.
Soon, the police arrived at the pet hospital. After scanning Little Jiu's information, they found it matched exactly with what Jiang Shiyan had provided.
They looked at Jiang Shiyan in shock. "How did you know that?"
"Little Jiu told me. You might not believe it, but I can understand what they say."
Several officers exchanged glances, clearly skeptical of Jiang Shiyan's words. She didn't expect them to fully believe her; after all, even her brother Jiang Yiheng didn't trust her.
Little Jiu was not a police dog from the city but rather a working dog from a Criminal Investigation Team in Giant City, a neighboring province. After some discussion, they decided to leave Little Jiu at the pet hospital for continued treatment while waiting for his Instructor to arrive from out of town.
It wasn't until the following afternoon that Little Jiu's Instructor hastily arrived from afar. Upon seeing his beloved pet, he held her tightly without letting go. "Thank you, Ms. Jiang."
Little Jiu was also excited and wanted to stand up. "Yanyan, catch the Villain, catch the Villain."
"Instructor Zhou, Little Jiu wants you to catch the Villain. The Villain has captured many children, and some of them have been beaten, with their hands and feet broken."
As soon as the words were spoken, everyone present changed their expressions.
"Miss Jiang, are you sure this is what Little Jiu said? Can you take responsibility for what you just said?"
Little Jiu anxiously nudged against the Instructor in his arms and then called out to Jiang Shiyan.
"Of course. Little Jiu said that place is very far from here, but he made a mark on the way; it's quite remote."
Instructor Zhou seemed to think of something and immediately used the pet hospital's computer to start searching online, eventually identifying a remote village called Wangting Ao.
Little Jiu instantly shouted in excitement, "That's it, that's the place!"
The police looked at Little Jiu's reaction and then at Jiang Shiyan, their eyes filled with disbelief.
Instructor Zhou gazed intently at Jiang Shiyan. "I have an unusual request. I will apply to the bureau for a covert investigation of this location. I hope you can temporarily cooperate with us during this time."
Jiang Shiyan immediately understood what they meant; it seemed they still didn't trust him. However, when it came to fighting crime, she certainly felt it was her duty.
Little Jiu continued to stay at the pet hospital while his Instructor had booked a room at the hotel next door.
It was Jiang Shiyan's turn to be on duty at the pet hospital that night, and she was accompanied by Little Jiu's Instructor.
Little Jiu was thrilled to have his two favorite people with him, his tail wagging non-stop. Meanwhile, Jiang Shiyan took advantage of her brother's absence to let all the cats and dogs in the hospital out of their cages.
To everyone's surprise, the animals got along remarkably well, which astonished Zhou Instructor, the Police Dog Instructor.
However, an even more shocking event unfolded. After midnight, Jiang Shiyan looked at the food bowls and called out, "Come on, it's time for a midnight snack! Line up nicely and no pushing!"
To her amazement, all the animals obediently sat down on the floor.
Zhou Instructor couldn't help but ask, "Can you really communicate with them without any barriers?"
"Of course I can," she replied. "I mentioned it during the day, but you didn't believe me. Maybe it's because I naturally have a strong affinity for pets. After all I've been through, perhaps heaven is compensating me in some way."
Once the little animals were full and satisfied, they all voluntarily returned to their cages, and Jiang Shiyan went upstairs to sleep.
Zhou Instructor held Little Jiu in his arms and asked, "Little Jiu, can he really understand what you say?"
Little Jiu let out a bark in response.
Zhou Instructor gazed thoughtfully at the stairs. If this young girl truly had such a gift, it would be a shame to waste it in a small pet hospital.
