As soon as I heard those words, I felt displeased. The elimination hadn't even started yet; who knew who would remain? Why act so arrogantly? Just as I was about to speak, Old Bi stepped forward, raising his head to meet the arrogant gaze of Big Black Man. "Is that so? Even if I'm eliminated, I won't switch with you." 0

"Hahaha, everyone look! This kind of third-rate squad is basically all talk and no action!" Big Black Man laughed at Old Bi's words, drawing a round of laughter from the surrounding Cadets. More and more Cadets gathered to watch the spectacle. 0

I frowned tightly. This was unacceptable; we were all part of the same unit. Wasn't this just slapping our own faces? Meanwhile, Xiao Yu, unaware of what was happening, approached upon seeing everyone gathered. 0

"Do you want to test how hard my fist is?!" Old Bi's face turned slightly pale; I could tell he was getting angry. 0

"Oh, everyone look! He's still trying to challenge me? Hahaha!" Big Black Man ignored Old Bi and instead addressed the crowd around him. 0

He looked down at Old Bi. "Your squad was eliminated in the first week last year. Hahaha! You guys are really persistent! With your pathetic self, you think you can stay in the Female Instructor's group? You're like a toad dreaming of eating goose meat! Hahaha!" 0

This guy was out of line. Judging by his rank and age, he should be around our level. How could someone so young be so arrogant? As I pondered whether to step in as an Instructor or just a regular officer, a voice suddenly rang in my ear. I turned to see Liu had come up beside me. Watching Old Bi and Big Black Man, he whispered, "Sun Hu is a Staff Officer in the Reconnaissance Division of Unit 1. He graduated as an Excellent Student from military school and was first in last year's training competition. He has a Third-Class Merit and might get promoted to Deputy Battalion by the end of this year. He's notorious for being tough—heavy-handed, straightforward, and hot-tempered—but his military skills are top-notch. You should step in as an Instructor to defuse this situation; otherwise, I fear Squad Leader Bi will suffer." 0

I glanced at him, puzzled by how he knew such details. Turning back to look again, I found that in just a moment of Kung Fu-like tension, Sun Hu and Old Bi were nearly nose-to-nose. I genuinely wondered if they would start fighting. 0

"What are you two doing?" Xiao Yu rushed over, clearly oblivious to what had transpired. 0

The tense atmosphere eased significantly with Xiao Yu's shout. Old Bi shot Sun Hu a glare before turning to Xiao Yu with a grin. "Report, Instructors! This Cadet likes you and wants to switch groups with me. Please advise!" 0

Old Bi was being quite underhanded; this was supposed to be a private matter, but he brought it up publicly, making it awkward for everyone involved. Xiao Yu's face flushed red as she glared at Sun Hu and angrily exclaimed, "What are you all thinking?! Remember, you're here for training and learning! No switching groups! I won't allow it!" 0

Sun Hu looked embarrassed; his face turned from black to red in an instant. "Damn it, just wait!" he snapped at Old Bi. 0

"Wait for you? I'll definitely send you off when you're eliminated," Old Bi retorted without holding back. 0

Sun Hu seemed ready to say more when the meal whistle blew—dinner time! The crowd dispersed in an uproar as everyone hurried off to assemble. 0

The elites from each unit clearly didn't get along; I sensed there would be plenty of drama during this training session. 0

The afternoon continued with classes led by experts focusing on theories related to combat injuries—practical applications would come later. After dinner that evening came physical training time; during this period, the team allowed us to adjust our own fitness routines without interference. Of course, if you were confident enough, you could try something else entirely. At least I saw Sun Hu taking a few soldiers off to play basketball. 0

I planned to go check on Old Bi and also see what the elites from various units were up to. Fortunately, as an Instructor, I figured no one would mind my presence. Just as I stepped out and reached the stairway, I ran into the Old Sergeant. Yes, it was indeed the Old Sergeant, sporting his rank and hands behind his back. I thought to myself, can this infantryman really still be serving at this age? 0

"Brother," I greeted him first. "What are you up to?" 0

"Oh, nothing much, just taking a stroll. At my age, I don't expect much. It's rare for me to come here; I just want to see how impressive this training camp is and what kind of outstanding Cadets get selected for the Special Operations Team. It's good to broaden my horizons so I can boast a bit when I go back, haha." 0

"Oh, I see! I'm the same way. Well then, Brother, let's wander around together." 0

Once we started looking around, I was taken aback. There were fewer Cadets in the rooms; they were probably out running. However, there were still some rooms occupied. The Cadets inside were either doing push-ups or leaning against the wall with their heads on the ground in a handstand. One person even had a sandbag in the room and was hitting it with loud thuds. Another Cadet was sitting cross-legged on a bed—was he practicing Qigong? 0

"Self-training is everywhere, but it's a pity it's not systematic," I remarked casually. 0

"Oh? What do you mean?" The Old Sergeant seemed quite interested in my comment. 0

"Well, as a medical professional, I believe that while the human body has potential, developing that potential requires systematic scientific training to gradually improve physical responses and other indicators. The training these Cadets are doing might yield results, but that's due to individual differences and can't be mass-produced. I was just thinking that if each unit could train soldiers uniformly using scientific methods for selection and elimination, then mass-producing special forces for the Special Operations Team wouldn't be impossible. Unfortunately, many units just focus on brute strength training and have wasted so many lives." 0

The Old Sergeant raised his eyebrows upon hearing this and said, "Wang Instructor, you have some interesting ideas. I thought your lecture this morning was quite good too; it seems you're someone who thinks critically." 0

As we chatted along the way, I followed the Old Sergeant from the first floor to the second and then to the third floor until we reached Old Bi's dormitory door. Through the window, I noticed that he and Liu were chatting idly. As soon as I stepped inside, I teased them, "You two Cadets! Many people have gone out to train; why aren't you pushing yourselves? Aren't you afraid of being eliminated next week?" 0

Liu smiled without saying anything while Old Bi casually replied, "Training now wouldn't help much; it's better to relax and maybe perform exceptionally." 0

At that moment, the Old Sergeant also entered. Both Old Bi and Liu looked at him, creating an awkward atmosphere. Indeed, in the military, officers and non-commissioned officers usually don't mix much; I hadn't thought of that before. I didn't even know what to call the Old Sergeant at that moment. 0

However, the Old Sergeant was quite generous; he found a chair and sat down. "Let me introduce myself; you can call me Old Li from now on. I'm just here as a technical officer to observe; feel free to chat among yourselves while I listen in and learn something." 0

Oh, so he was a technical sergeant! No wonder he could still be around at this age—we all nodded in understanding and relaxed considerably. Suddenly, Old Bi turned to me and asked, "Old Wang, how do you feel? If it were you, how long do you think you could last?" 0

I sat down on a nearby bed without giving an answer and noticed a piece of paper taped to the wall beside it. Leaning closer to take a look, I discovered it was a daily practice schedule filled with numerous columns marked with checks and crosses. The front column listed: Qigong sitting practice for 0 minutes; headstands for 0 minutes; head-butting against a wall 500 times; striking sandbags with palms, fists, elbows, and knees for various counts; fully armed 10 kilometers once daily. As I read through it all, I couldn't help but laugh—who could possibly stick to such a schedule? I was quite curious about its owner. 0

"With elimination approaching, everyone seems anxious. Liu, why aren't you worried? You haven't been seen adding extra training but are instead chatting with Old Bi," I casually asked. 0

Liu smiled and replied, "There are so many experts this year. I can only come here to learn, without any specific goals. I'll just practice and improve alongside everyone. Isn't Squad Leader Bi also taking it easy? However, I heard that Squad Leader Bi really admires you. Your skills and reactions are impressive, and you're quite clever. You could actually consider transitioning from Instructors to Cadet. Why not give it a try?" 0

Could I really switch to Cadet? To be honest, I was a bit tempted, but after thinking it over, I decided against it. I knew my position well; just doing a good job as Squad Leader was already quite an achievement. Did I really want to aim for Special Forces? I shook my head with a smile and didn’t respond. 0

Old Bi chimed in, "Liu and I were just discussing the training squad. Liu has a lot of information; it's beneficial for us to listen." 0

At that moment, Old Li also added, "Yes, Squad Leader, why don't you share what you know? This is our first time here, and we're quite curious." 0

"Not much to share, really. I only know a little bit since our units are relatively close together, so we tend to know a lot of things." 0

"Oh, let’s hear it!" I said with some interest. 0

"Did you know that besides Sun Hu, there are two other highly regarded individuals in this training session?" Both Old Bi and I shook our heads simultaneously. It made sense; our unit was the farthest from everyone else, unlike the other units that were almost right next to each other and could communicate frequently. 0

"The Special Operations Camp's Reconnaissance Company from Unit 0 has Wu Di and Lin Hao from our unit!" 0
