Jerry's fingers gently slid over the surface of the military token, as if bidding a final farewell to this ancient object. He carefully placed it back into the box and gently closed the lid. For a moment, the air seemed to be filled with Jerry's contemplation and Laura's nervousness. 0

Jerry looked up, his gaze steady on Laura's face. Laura's heart raced, her eyes filled with anticipation and fear, unsure of what Jerry would say next. A forced smile appeared on Jerry's face, as if he were struggling to find the right words. 0

Finally, he said softly, "Laura, I feel... all of this is really unbelievable. Do you feel the same way?" His voice carried a hint of doubt, as if testing Laura's feelings. 0

Sensing Jerry's doubt, Laura felt a tightening in her heart and nodded slightly, feeling somewhat afraid. Her eyes revealed a hint of confusion and unease, unsure if her recent experience was real or just her own illusion. Laura felt her throat dry up, struggling to find words to explain, but ultimately could only lower her head in silence, deepening her sense of uncertainty and fear. 0

Jerry's hand gently rested on Laura's shoulder, his voice filled with compassion and understanding, as if an experienced mentor soothing a student's anxiety. "Laura, you are a very serious person, and I deeply respect that. I see your passion and effort for these ancient artifacts," his gaze was gentle and encouraging. 0

Then his voice softened, "But, I think you may be a little too obsessed with this military token. Perhaps, everything you experienced this morning was just a dream." There was a hint of lightness in his tone, as if trying to ease her worries. 0

"Perhaps when you wake up in the morning, you are still in that sleepy state, unable to distinguish between dreams and reality for a moment." His gaze softened as he looked at Laura, as if seeking her understanding. "Right? Sometimes, the images and feelings in our dreams can feel so real that we are still immersed in that feeling when we wake up." 0

Laura listened silently, forcing a faint smile at the corner of her mouth. She knew Jerry meant well, but her inner doubts and struggles still existed. Was all this really just a dream? But the feeling was so real, so vivid... Her eyes wandered between Jerry and the military token, her inner struggle intensifying. 0

Laura's voice trembled, with a hint of tears in her eyes. "But Jerry... I know this sounds very absurd, but when I woke up this morning, I was sure I was awake, I wasn't dreaming." Her eyes stared directly at Jerry, trying to find a glimmer of belief in his gaze. 0

"I feel like it was more than just a dream," she continued urgently. "I really saw that military token emitting a strange light, and... " Laura swallowed hard, trying to make her words more convincing, "that voice in my mind was so clear, as if someone was really speaking to me." 0

Laura's expression is so sincere, every word seems to testify to her experience. "I know this sounds crazy, but that voice seemed to come from another world, an ancient and mysterious world." Her voice trembled slightly, but with an unstoppable determination. 0

"The voice said, 'We will return and destroy everything.'" Laura's eyes flashed with a hint of fear, but more with confusion and a desire for answers. "Jerry, I really don't know what this means, but I feel it's related to the disappearance of Legio IX, maybe connected to the legend of the Wild Hunt." 0

She looked at Jerry helplessly, hoping to get some guidance or answers from him. "I don't know what to do. This is beyond my understanding," Laura's words revealed a hint of seeking help. She sincerely hoped that Jerry could believe her, even just a little bit. 0

A hint of worry flashed in Jerry's eyes, and he gently raised his hand to interrupt Laura. His tone carried a kind of gentle rationality: "Laura, how can you be sure that you weren't dreaming at that time?" He smiled slightly, trying to lighten the mood in a humorous way, "Did you pinch your face to see if it hurts, to judge?" 0

Laura suddenly felt that her theory seemed a bit far-fetched. She tried to find reasonable arguments, but in the semi-serious, semi-joking tone of Jerry, her confidence seemed to waver. 0

"But Jerry, I really feel a very real fear and unease," Laura's voice was low and firm, with a hint of imperceptible insistence in her eyes. "When that voice sounded in my ear, I could feel my heart racing, and every cell in my body reacting." 0

Jerry's voice carried a hint of helplessness and apology as he looked at Laura, his eyes revealing deep concern. "I'm sorry, Laura, I... really don't believe in these things," he sighed softly and continued, "As historians, our work is based on facts and evidence. The supernatural phenomena and legends you mentioned have no place in academic research." 0

Laura's expression showed clear disappointment. A hint of confusion flashed in her eyes, as if she was searching for answers or questioning Jerry's words. 0

Jerry looked at Laura and seemed to sense her struggle and uncertainty. He continued gently, "I understand your passion and dedication to this job, but we must remain objective. We cannot let our subjective thoughts influence our research. If there is genuine evidence to support your claims, that would naturally be best, but until then, we must exercise caution." 0
