At the moment Jiang dealt with his opponent, Newton had already received the news. 0

"What’s going on? If there’s good news, feel free to share it with me." 0

Hades Mardo wore a smug expression, as if he had Newton completely figured out. This made Newton feel somewhat awkward about revealing the news. Judging by Mardo's demeanor, if he were to tell him that his plans had fallen through, it might just infuriate him. Wouldn't that make Newton the villain in this scenario? 0

"Nothing at all, really. I just admire your ability to come up with such a 'perfect' plan." 0

Newton looked at him mockingly. Was this how demons typically behaved—so full of themselves? Since he began dealing with these demons, they all seemed to give off that same vibe. He couldn't help but wonder if Jelf had neglected to install any sense of humility in them when he created them. Was it merely for the sake of pursuing those who could kill him that power was all that mattered? Fighting these guys felt like bullying a kindergarten friend armed with a toy gun. 0

"So, can you tell me how to break your so-called Underworld Beast? In simpler terms, how can I free my companions?" 0

Newton's tone was almost like that of a parent coaxing a child, which put Mardo in a foul mood. He waved his hand, and vines from the Underworld burst forth from the ground, twisting and spiraling toward Newton. 0

"Did my tone upset you? My apologies; next time I'll be more gentle." 0

A spark appeared before Newton, then exploded, filling the space with a scorching atmosphere as his right hand lunged toward the vines like a fiery giant. Though the flames didn’t originate from any special source, fire was known to consume plants. Moreover, Newton wasn't merely wielding fire; at some point, he had donned a glove on his other hand. A faint airflow began swirling from his palm, escalating into a terrifying storm. The fire borrowed strength from the wind as a fire tornado roared and collided with the vines, instantly engulfing Mardo's tendrils. 0

However, Mardo had more than just this one tactic. The light sliced through Newton's fire tornado like a blade, but after the tornado dissipated, Newton had vanished. 0

"Where is he?" 0

Mardo genuinely dared not look for Newton anymore. This person might not be as formidable as Makarov, but strength did not equate to combat ability. Up until now, the battles against Fairy Tail had been crucial largely due to this individual's presence. From the initial leak of information to an array of relentless tactics that followed, Mardo felt as if even those who sought trouble would likely not return now. As it stood, Nine Ghosts Gate had completely vanished—none remained. The nine strongest demons who claimed to serve him were gone just like that. His own creation, Underworld Gate—established for Jelf—had been reduced to nothing. 0

No, perhaps there was still hope: utilizing the Core of Hell. Although it had been destroyed now, as long as he was alive, the Core could be rebuilt. Those who hadn’t been accepted yet—and even those who had—could be summoned back if he eliminated that woman. 0

The essence of a demon was akin to a book; as long as the book wasn’t destroyed, there would still be an opportunity for redemption. 0

"I haven't lost yet! As long as I can activate Fiss, as long as I can resurrect end! I can..." 0

But before Mardo could finish his words, he transformed into a book and fell to the ground. 0

"No, you have already lost. Let's end this here..." 0

Then the entire space seemed to freeze, and a person who felt both familiar and strange to Newton appeared before him. 0

"Jelf..." 0

Newton's feelings were quite complex at that moment. The person in front of him was someone he had heard about since his own time, the legendary Dark Mage, the object of worship for all Dark Mages, the creator of demons, and the originator of various forbidden magics. Later, on Wolf Island, when he met this person, Newton felt that rather than being evil, Jelf seemed helpless, like a timid child. When Jelf requested to see Natsu, Newton sensed a longing for family in him. After conversing with Mavis, Newton gained a deeper understanding of a completely different side of Jelf, one who could cry and laugh like an ordinary person, even capable of love. However, seeing Jelf this time gave Newton a different impression—dark and sinister, which aligned with the image of the legendary Dark Mage Jelf, but it completely shattered Newton's previous perception of him. 0

"Well, it's been a long time, Newton..." 0

At that moment, Jelf was no longer the friendly neighbor boy but rather a high and mighty ruler. 0

"It seems you've come to understand some things." 0

Newton sighed and looked at the book that had once been Mardo, now reduced to ashes, while Jelf collected the book named end. 0

"That book... is it him?" 0

Newton sighed again; the magic power within him felt like a stone sinking into the sea. Under the terrifying pressure from across the way, he realized that if Jelf truly wanted to fight him, he would likely be killed in an instant. 0

"Yes, he is also my brother..." 0

This revelation was quite explosive. If it had been earlier, Newton might not have connected the dots, but now he immediately understood what it meant. 0

"Eclipse Gate... Dragon Slayer Mage... Dragon Clan..." 0

Jelf looked at Newton with admiration. 0

"Honestly, even in my time, you would have been considered a top scholar. It's a pity that this era is not suited for you..." 0

"Although I don't quite understand what's going on, you really have set up a grand game here." 0

This matter involving time made many things click for Newton, but it also brought forth more questions, the most pressing of which was: 0

"What do you want to do now?" 0

"Nothing much, just that I've made a decision." 0

Jelf waved his hand, and the entire space returned to its original state. 0

"By the way, consider this a gift for you." 0

Then the Underworld Beast reverted to its previous form, and all the members of Fairy Tail were released, while Jelf vanished before Newton's eyes. 0
