“Is it really okay for Ginger to follow Natsu and the others?”
Miraj and Newton were both clad in armor, their colors blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment, making them appear as if they were part of it. Not only the colors, but even the scents and magical fluctuations were concealed by the armor.
“It should be fine.”
Newton had faith in Natsu and the others' abilities. Initially, he had only intended for Ginger to be with Erza and the others for growth, but he hadn’t expected this mission to take place here, a location that Minerva had informed him about.
Ultimately, Minerva had gone to the Underworld Gate, and it seemed she had undergone some transformation because the Underworld Gate appeared to be a floating continent or a large airborne base. Communicating messages was quite challenging, so Minerva could only provide information about Sun Village, urging Newton to come find out more, promising to send further messages when she had the chance.
“What exactly is hidden in Sun Village?”
Miraj was also concerned. The Three Great Dark Guilds now only had the Underworld Gate left, but this guild was shrouded in mystery. There were many rumors about it; some said these individuals were demons that escaped from hell, hence the name Underworld Gate, while others claimed they were all Gerard’s demons. In any case, there was little reliable information. Mystery often equated to danger, and Miraj worried about potential problems arising.
“I don’t know. According to historical records, there seems to be something called the Eternal Flame hidden here, but it’s likely frozen, so it might just be a myth. Moreover, since this village is quite isolated, even my people find it difficult to infiltrate. Due to its giant inhabitants, we rarely produce everyday items, which has inadvertently made this place a blind spot for me.”
Newton's thoughts drifted more toward the floating Underworld Gate. His own base was in the ocean, yet he hadn’t anticipated someone else would think similarly and establish a base in the sky. Perhaps he should focus his information gathering efforts on aerial locations next.
“Newton, what’s that?”
Miraj suddenly pointed in a direction, and a towering figure appeared before them. Newton frowned.
"Newcomer? Or is this what Minerva wanted me to see?"
There were only three groups of people who had come here: myself, Erza, and a few guys from the so-called bounty hunter Guild. This guy was the fourth wave.
"Newton, that guy gives me a familiar feeling..."
Miraj suddenly looked a bit surprised.
"A demon, just like the feeling I had when I encountered demons before!"
Miraj had stepped onto the path of magic because demons suddenly appeared in her village, awakening her magical abilities and allowing her to absorb their powers. Therefore, she was quite familiar with the aura of such demons.
"Report: Based on the magical fluctuations from the opponent, the likelihood of them being a demon is over eighty percent."
Although Newton had been completely sealed off by the armor, it still came equipped with a combat assistance system. When he fought against Hades, the opponent's ultimate move was summoned through the records in Jelf's Grimoire. At that time, Newton's armor had already collected the aura of those entities. Now, after comparison, there were some differences, but overall they were quite similar. Moreover, it wasn't just data from that time; it also included data collected when Miraj transformed. While this data couldn't compare to that of Jelf, who created this race, Newton's database had reached an impressive level of collection regarding demons. Just from a magical fluctuation, he could already sense that the opponent was likely a demon.
"A demon, huh..."
Newton was now contemplating that Minerva must have sent him here for something related to the Underworld Gate. With a demon appearing now, it seemed this was indeed the message Minerva wanted to convey.
"So does this mean that the Underworld Gate is actually related to demons?"
"There's that possibility. However, if that's the case, we might be in trouble soon since we don't really have many means to deal with demons right now."
Miraj was also somewhat worried. She could be considered someone who understood demons better than most, knowing that they were not like ordinary Mages. While they might not reach the strength of a dragon, their power was still significantly higher than that of an average Mage. Their bodies and resistance to magic were not something ordinary people could compare to, which meant that fighting against demons did not put them at an advantage. The most critical factor was that demons could disguise their identities; if it weren't for sensing the magical fluctuations of the creature before her, no one would suspect that this being was a demon just by looking at its appearance.
"Well, we can't let this guy go. If we can capture him, we'll have the necessary materials for our experiments. We had no way to deal with the dragon race before and had to resort to the most primitive methods of confrontation. But if we can develop a way to counter demons, then even if we truly have to battle them, we won't be too passive."
Newton had already set his sights on the creature before him. He began to wonder if he had developed some sort of collecting obsession; after all, he already had a dragon at home. Although it spent most of its time in a dormant state, it was still considered a rare beast. If he were to find a demon as well, he thought he might as well open a zoo when he ran out of things to do.
"Is it possible to succeed?"
Miraj was concerned about whether they could actually capture the demon.
"Don't worry. Although it's a demon, it's still primarily a magical being. We just need to seal it with armor."
With that, Newton instructed the system to immediately manufacture a large suit of armor capable of containing the demon and equipped with magic suppression devices.
While they were discussing how to capture the demon, changes were already occurring in another part of the arena. For some reason, the three bounty hunters had come into conflict with Natsu and his companions, leading to a skirmish. The fight wasn't entirely one-sided since the bounty hunters wielded several products sold by their Guild. However, Fairy Tail was their own Guild, and any good items were typically distributed to Guild members first. Thus, these seemingly discarded items were completely unimpressive in the eyes of Fairy Tail's members. Initially, there was back-and-forth action in the fight, but soon enough, all three bounty hunters were taken down. At that moment, everyone in the arena suddenly began to shrink back as the demon stepped forward.
