Newton arrived in the capital early in the morning, and the city had not changed much over the years. 0

"Is there anything happening in the palace lately?" 0

Newton did not believe that the king would summon him without reason. Even with the Great Magic Games, it had nothing to do with him. It had already been publicly announced that Makarov had resumed his position as President, so if they were looking for a President, it should be Makarov. 0

"Eclipse Gate." 0

Naturally, there were spies in the palace reporting to Newton. While it was not appropriate to call them spies, Newton had included the palace in his surveillance while keeping an eye on other guilds, just to be safe. 0

"Eclipse Gate... has a problem?" 0

Newton was somewhat surprised; it shouldn't be that fragile. He thought that even if the palace collapsed, that thing would likely remain intact. 0

"No, it's not that. The specific situation seems to be that the Eclipse Gate has been activated." 0

Ginger's words deepened Newton's confusion. 0

"Activated? How is that possible? I clearly..." 0

"Although you don't have the switch or energy connected, you have successfully created the core. After conducting some research afterward, I discovered that it might be possible for someone to come out from inside." 0

Newton was taken aback by Ginger's statement. 0

"Come out? Would they be from the future or the past?" 0

He paused, originally intending to head straight to the palace. However, according to Ginger's words, whether from the past or future, anyone capable of traversing time would certainly have utilized the Eclipse Gate. If they could use the Eclipse Gate, they must have considerable knowledge about it, and any modifications he made to it would surely have been discovered. 0

"Tsk, this is troublesome." 0

Newton grimaced slightly, thought for a moment, and then continued toward the palace. 0

"Is there anything we need to prepare?" 0

A glimmer of red light flashed in Jiang's eyes. If a fight broke out, they would truly understand the terror of technological warfare. 0

"No need, let's just go take a look. I'm curious to see who this person is, whether they come from the past or the future, and what kind of news they might bring." 0

Newton thought to himself, but as soon as he stepped into the palace, he found himself surrounded by the Order of the Cherry Blossom Knights. 0

"Oh, what a grand welcome..." 0

Newton glanced at Alcadios, who was already donned in battle armor, and said with interest. 0

"What are you preparing for? Is an enemy coming?" 0

"Sir Isaac, I apologize. We truly have no choice but to treat you this way. If you wish to avoid unnecessary casualties, please surrender." 0

Alcadios spoke with righteous authority, but the magical energy emanating from him was already stirring. It wasn't just Alcadios; the Wolf Knight Order had also appeared, the executioners known throughout the land. 0

"Oh ho, this is quite interesting." 0

Newton did not make a move; instead, he raised both hands. 0

"If you're going to capture me, you should at least give me a reason. Even if I have a good temper, I will be angry if you treat me like this." 0

"Sorry, Mr. Newton. If you want to hear our reasons, please come inside." 0

The Emerald Princess appeared, and Alcadios immediately positioned himself in front of her, watching Newton warily. 0

"Don't worry. If I really intended to do something to the princess, you wouldn't be able to stop me." 0

With that, Newton grabbed Alcadios by the shoulder and forcefully tossed him aside. 0

"Your Highness, I hope you can give me a satisfactory answer." 0

Facing Newton's assertiveness, Emerald showed no signs of fear. Newton couldn't help but nod; having a daughter like her was indeed a blessing for King Thomas E. Fiore. 0

Newton followed Emerald into the back garden, and not just him—Ginger came along as well. 0

"Would you like something to drink?" 0

The servants brought out refreshments, and to Newton's surprise, Emerald intended to pour tea for him herself. 0

"Anything is fine." 0

Newton sighed; as the saying goes, one shouldn't strike a smiling face. With Emerald being so pleasant, he felt it would be rude to keep a stern expression. 0

"Then what about Ginger?" 0

Emerald turned to Ginger, who simply shook her head. 0

"Alright then, actually this black tea is quite good." 0

Emerald poured two cups of black tea, handing one to Newton while keeping one for herself. 0

"Yes, it is indeed good." 0

Newton nodded. Although he wasn't particularly fond of tea, the palace's offerings were unlikely to be subpar. 0

The two of them sipped tea and enjoyed snacks, behaving like ordinary friends having afternoon tea. However, while Newton seemed indifferent, Emerald appeared a bit restless. 0

"Mr. Newton, do you know about dragons?" 0

Newton raised an eyebrow. Dragons—how could he not know about them? Wolf Island had nearly been destroyed because of them, and in his guild, several Dragon Slayer Mages had been personally trained by dragons. It was impossible for him not to be aware of their existence. 0

Newton did not respond to those words; instead, he focused on Emerald. 0

"I know." 0

Seeing the reaction from across the table, Emerald felt relieved. 0

"That's good. I also know about the Wolf Island Incident from back then; it was orchestrated by the Dragon..." 0

Newton nodded. 0

"Then, Mr. Newton, if just one dragon caused that, what would happen if thousands of dragons emerged?" 0

Newton raised an eyebrow. 0

"Impossible. If there were truly thousands of dragons on the main road, they would have been discovered long ago." 0

"No, it's true. This is what the gentleman who traveled through time from the future told me. At the end of this Great Magic Games, thousands of dragons will appear, and we... will all die. The world will return to the rule of the Dragon race." 0

"Then I will go destroy the Eclipse Gate right now." 0

Emerald was taken aback by Newton's words. 0

"No! The Eclipse Gate is our last hope. Mr. Newton, please don't!" 0

Emerald's plea elicited a cold smile from Newton; it was indeed about the Eclipse Gate. 0

"Oh? Give me a reason." 0

Emerald looked at Newton with a complex expression. 0

"Then, Mr. Newton, why do you want to destroy the Eclipse Gate?" 0

“Eclipse Gate possesses the power to traverse time and space, and judging by your appearance, someone has already succeeded? Then why can’t I speculate that dragons also came out of Eclipse Gate?” 0

Newton's words made Emerald's face turn pale. 0

“No, it’s impossible! That esteemed individual… Eclipse Gate can not only traverse time and space but also utilize accumulated magical energy to fire the Magic Cannon. With just one shot, it can eliminate tens of thousands of dragons!” 0

“Hah, fool! Magic Cannon? I built Eclipse Gate, how could I not know it had this effect?” 0

Newton sneered. Using a door as a cannon? A bomb would be more believable than that. 0

“But that gentleman truly came from the future!” 0

Emerald's rebuttal was quite feeble. 0

“Future? Just because someone comes from the future doesn’t mean they are a good person.” 0

Newton glanced toward a corner and then struck out in an instant. 0
