Erza and Miraj swiftly arrived with the help of their armor, where a punk-haired guy was waiting for them.
"Hello, ladies. I am Azuma from the Purgatory Seven Affiliates. My magic is the Arc of the Tree, which allows me to control plants. What I desire most is to battle strong opponents. May I ask who you are?"
Newton directly approached the armor, revealing Erza and Miraj inside.
"So it’s the Queen and the Demon of Fairy Tail. I must say, I’m quite lucky."
Azuma's expression turned serious. His passion lay in fighting strong opponents; as a Dark Mage, he wasn't inherently evil. He simply sought to challenge those who were powerful.
Newton pondered over Azuma's information before speaking up.
"Lord Azuma, if we win, could you please restore our Holy Tree of Fairy Tail?"
"Certainly. The destruction of that tree was never my intention; I was merely following the President's orders. However, it did indeed attract the strong members of Fairy Tail."
Azuma nodded, seemingly unfazed by the sudden voice—he likely perceived Newton's words as telepathy.
"But I have a request as well."
Azuma wasn't foolish; despite his love for battling strong opponents, facing two S-Class Mages along with two unknown armors was not something he sought out for punishment.
"I want to fight you one-on-one, and no team battles allowed."
"Isn't that a bit excessive? You destroyed our Holy Tree; you are an invader. How dare you make such a demand now?" Newton scoffed.
"Listen, don't forget that you are the ones in need of my help, so naturally, I can set my own terms."
Azuma was unbothered, knowing that as long as they wanted the Holy Tree to recover, they would have to rely on him.
Erza and Miraj exchanged glances; Miraj immediately transformed and charged forward, while Erza donned her Wheel Armor, unleashing a barrage of Sharp Blades.
"Leaf Blade!"
However, Azuma was no pushover. As a member of the Purgatory Seven Affiliates, he thrived in the forest. The once fragile leaves became as hard as Sharp Blades under the infusion of magic, and Erza's Sharp Blades couldn't pierce through.
"Close-Range Explosion!"
Then, the plants around Azuma exploded. Yet after the blast, he looked on in surprise as the two armored figures stood before him like shields; the explosion had little effect.
Miraj gathered a terrifying amount of magical energy in her hands, unleashing a powerful magic cannon that swept toward Azuma. He could only use vines to create a shield for defense while sending a liquid infused with magical energy flying toward Miraj.
"Whoosh!"
On the other side, one of the armors fired a missile that detonated mid-air.
"Playing with explosions? You think I'm easy prey!"
Newton scoffed. Playing with explosions right in front of him? If he weren't physically absent and unable to use Alchemy, he could have obliterated his opponents with an explosion. Still, the bombs carried by the armor were enough to give them a run for their money.
At that moment, the Thunder God Clan also encountered Lastiros, a user of Manifest Arc.
"Meeting me is your greatest misfortune; I shall grant you the most glorious death!"
Lastiros completely disregarded the Thunder God Clan and Elfman. Although the three of them had acted foolishly during the previous internal conflict, their strength had caught Laxus's attention. Would such a proud Laxus take in weak subordinates? Not to mention the years of cooperation and synergy among these three.
With just a glance, they had already decided on their battle strategy, especially knowing their opponent's magic. If they couldn't defeat them now, they would truly have no face to meet Laxus.
Bigusro was the first to act, sending a puppet shaped like a totem flying towards Lastiros. However, a massive claw crushed the puppets effortlessly.
"Bigusro, it seems you were relying on your Puppet for an attack. Now that your Puppet is destroyed, what use do you have left?"
Lastiros spread his arms wide.
"Worship me; this is my guardian beast, Gale Berukushas. You cannot defeat me!"
"You really are disgusting," Evangeline said as she raised her hand and sent a burst of light flying forward. But this time, Lastiros transformed his hand into an enormous shield that blocked Evangeline's attack. Immediately after, a slender sword deflected Lastiros's arm.
"Dark Script: Pain!"
"Ahhhhh!"
Lastiros felt as if his body was being torn apart in an instant.
"Berukushas! Protect me!"
But his guardian beast did not respond; instead, it let out a painful howl. Unbeknownst to him, Elfman had transformed into the Beast King and, along with three armored figures, they pinned the so-called guardian beast to the ground.
"Damn it, Wings of the Horse!"
Lastiros immediately prepared to flee, but blocking his escape were four individuals, which meant four suits of armor. Currently, only three were present, leaving one still unaccounted for.
"Clang!"
One suit of armor intercepted Lastiros mid-air and injected him with a sleeping gas from within. Lastiros promptly fainted.
"Alright, capture successful. Thank you all."
The armor descended, and the Thunder God Clan knew that their enemy was inside. Watching the armor produce sounds reminiscent of Newton was quite awkward.
"Hmph! If it weren't for your desire to capture this guy alive, we would have dealt with him long ago."
Bigusro was quite displeased with Newton, and Evangeline felt similarly. After all, these two were considered the troublemakers within the Thunder God Clan. At least J Sting was better; he turned to Newton seriously.
"What’s the status of the battle now?"
"Well, you guys resolved your fight the quickest, so we need you to support other areas. If possible, you could also clear out the minions on Wolf Island or deal with that cursed puppet master. Perhaps Bigusro would be interested?"
"My puppets are not cursed puppets!"
Bigusro retorted, while J Sting nodded in agreement beside him.
"Where do we need to go now?"
"Over by the President..."
Newton sighed. Although he had left Laxus there, if Diroth was correct, the endless magic was simply terrifying. It would be difficult to deal with Hades before Haru resolved that heart issue.
"The battle over there is not something we can intervene in."
Sting remained rational.
"Where are Erza and Miraj? Or Kildas? If we can free one S-Class fighter, it would greatly influence the battle."
"Alright, Kildas..."
Newton glanced over; the scene there was catastrophic. One side was gravity, the other was destruction, and no one dared to approach within a hundred meters.
"Forget about Kildas; that's not something you can handle. Erza and the others are currently at the center of Wolf Island. Put on your armor and let it carry you over there. Elfman, you sit on top of that armor."
The four of them rushed toward the center of Wolf Island.
