At around three or four in the morning, it is the darkest hour, and the time when people feel the most drowsy. Newton would probably agree with this notion. However, those who stay up late might have a different explanation, but the members of the Dark Guild regard Newton as a deity and naturally do not question it. Each of them anxiously awaited a signal.
“Boom!”
The sound of an explosion was followed by shouts and chaos erupting at the base of the Six Demon Generals.
“What’s going on?”
Kebula patted Cobra beside him, trying to calm him down.
“I don’t know. Could it be an earthquake? I really hope it didn’t wake the Night.”
Lisa emerged from her room in her pajamas, her face filled with sleepiness.
“Damn it! Don’t they know I was dreaming about counting money? If they don’t bring out the corresponding funds, they might as well just die!”
Hetei's eyes blazed with anger; he had been on a date with his beloved money in his dreams. Who dared to disturb him? Were they seeking death?
“Alright, it seems this isn’t the work of the Regular Guild. It looks like many have forgotten the terror of us Six Demon Generals? Everyone get down there; anyone involved in this will be killed.”
Klein held a staff in his hand, feeling somewhat troubled.
“Who’s causing trouble? Don’t they know that disturbing girls at night affects their skin?”
Finally, Angel appeared. With the exception of the Night, who usually wouldn’t wake up, all Six Demon Generals were present.
But just like Newton, although there were only six official members, it was impossible for just six people to keep a base running smoothly. The Dark Guild encountered various levels of obstruction, and battles erupted at different locations.
"Fight, fight! The more chaotic it gets, the better I can take advantage of the situation."
Newton could no longer feel where his money had gone, but he still remembered the last place it disappeared from.
"Is it right here?"
Newton touched the ground, starting to search for any hidden passages or similar things.
On another side, the Dark Mages were strong as well, but they seemed inadequate against the Six Demon Generals. Almost no one could stand up to a single one of the Six Demon Generals; they were all swiftly and decisively dealt with.
"Bilibili!"
Well, fine, this wasn't the Cannon Sister; it was Laxus, who was not cute at all, though he did have a tsundere personality.
Laxus looked at Lisa in front of him; he still remembered that punch she threw at him.
"It’s you?"
Lisa clearly remembered Laxus as well. There were few who dared to glare at her anymore; almost everyone looked at her with fear in their eyes. So she had some impression of Laxus.
"Did you cause this mess?"
Lisa looked coldly at the other person, feeling somewhat indifferent. She watched as her companion calmed him down, thinking that everything was fine. However, she never expected that such a big trouble would arise. If it were to be discovered that she was involved, she would surely be in a bit of trouble. Lisa immediately made up her mind to eliminate the opponent right there; if he were dead, then she could say whatever she wanted. As for whether she could defeat him? That was a joke; she was one of the Six Demon Generals.
"I've been wanting to hit you for a long time!"
But Lisa received no answer; instead, a bolt of lightning struck down.
Lisa's pupils constricted. His magic weakened the opponent's physical sensations, making them slower, but his own speed remained unchanged. However, while he could dull a person's sense of touch, could he also dull the sensation of lightning? And it wasn't about acceleration; Lisa couldn't dodge the speed of the lightning. But as one of the Six Demon Generals, Lisa certainly had more than just this up her sleeve. A motorcycle came rushing in, and Lisa hopped on it, charging towards Laxus. As long as her magic worked on Laxus, she was confident she could take him down.
"I've been waiting for you to come!" Laxus snarled, his fist already poised in Lisa's path. But suddenly, the ground beneath Laxus became soft and fluid-like. He lost his balance, and his fist barely grazed past Lisa.
"Did you disturb me while I was counting my money in my dreams? You're truly a worthless fellow," Hetei said angrily, being quite fond of wealth and now furious at this intruder.
"Another one? Bring as many as you want; it won't matter," Laxus replied fearlessly. However, he still found it somewhat troublesome. He wasn't sure whether they were using transformation magic or something else, and combined with that magic that weakened physical sensations, it was quite tricky.
Laxus wasn't foolish; perhaps he wouldn't be afraid of these two in a one-on-one fight, but facing multiple opponents was a different story. Moreover, both had limited abilities, which was quite annoying. Laxus quickly decided to deal with the one on the motorcycle first.
Countless bolts of lightning fell from the sky, some stronger and some weaker. Laxus's primary target was Lisa, and naturally, his main focus was on her.
However, to Laxus's surprise, Hetei seemed to be able to see through his thoughts. Some of the lightning bolts were dodged, while others were blocked using the softened ground, and at the same time, he directed Lisa on how to evade.
"What is this?"
Laxus found it hard to believe. How could Hetei tell which lightning strike was more powerful? It seemed that the Six Demon Generals were indeed more formidable than he had anticipated.
Furrowing his brow, Laxus began to retreat. It wasn't that he couldn't fight back, but getting caught would be troublesome. He knew he had already been labeled as the instigator, and being captured would certainly complicate matters.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Laxus felt a chill run down his spine. A lazy roll of a donkey might not sound pleasant, but Dark Magic narrowly grazed him, creating a large crater in the ground. Laxus broke out in a cold sweat.
"Thunder!"
Laxus stared at a figure not far away that looked exactly like him, momentarily stunned.
"What are you dazed about?"
A chilling voice slithered through the air like a venomous snake. Indeed, a real snake had crawled up Laxus's arm and bit down hard.
"Ah!"
Laxus immediately felt a wave of dizziness wash over him, causing him to sway unsteadily.
"Hmph, is this the guy? I slept with Lisa, and you're just pathetic."
Kebula looked disdainfully at Lisa, as if questioning how someone like her could even be dealt with.
"Is everyone taken care of?"
Klein glanced around at the people tied up and thrown onto the ground.
"Yeah, just these."
"And some got away, but I couldn't be bothered to chase them down. We don't have the time for that, do we?"
"Ah, so if the warehouse gets robbed, should we go after them?"
"No, Nirvana is the priority. As long as we obtain Nirvana, this world will still belong to us."
Klein shook his head.
"I see, the ancient magic Nirvana that can change good and evil. Quite an interesting thing."
"Oh, you’re very... who!?"
At that moment, Klein realized that someone wearing a mask had approached him.
"Don't be nervous, don't be nervous. I'm just the planner and organizer of the recent riot."
Newton's words sent a chill through the crowd, and then Lisa couldn't hold back any longer. She charged at Newton, seemingly without any intention of compensating for her earlier mistakes.
"Bang!"
With one punch, she sent Newton flying.
"Ouch, that hurts! That really hurts!"
Newton cried out in pain, leaving everyone confused. This guy... was he really that weak?
Lisa was also a bit surprised as she stepped forward, not retaliating at all; her opponent was simply wailing loudly.
"Are you crazy?"
Lisa reached out to grab Newton's mask, intending to pull it off and see what his face looked like. But when she removed it, she was taken aback.
His face was ghostly pale, with lips that were a deep crimson stretching to the base of his ears, and wild green hair that looked disheveled. He appeared bizarrely terrifying.
"Hiss..."
Suddenly, Newton covered his mouth with one hand while the other released an unknown gas.
"Get away!"
Kebula rushed forward and inhaled all the gas.
But it was too late; Lisa was already on the ground.
"Hah! Hahaha!"
What followed was a maniacal laughter.
The crowd looked at Lisa with a mix of fear and confusion as Kebula landed a punch in Newton's stomach.
"What kind of poison is this?"
Is the poison ineffective?
Newton felt a bit disappointed, but even when he pouted, it looked like a smile on his peculiar face. He leisurely approached Laxus and administered the antidote.
"Can we talk now?"
