Harvest is always a good thing for everyone. The entire town is filled with a cheerful festive atmosphere. The Harvest Festival has been held several times before, so it is not new to Newton, who does not plan to participate much.
The selection for Sister Fairy Tail is also in full swing. There are many Sorceresses in Fairy Tail. Mirajane is quite a well-known figure, and Lucy, as a newcomer, often makes appearances. Kana, the daughter of Kildas, is also quite famous. However, just as Lucy is about to perform her talent, a glasses-wearing lady with a fan steps onto the stage and steals Lucy's spotlight.
"The champion will definitely be me, Evangeline!"
"Hey, this is my time! Don't come up here and mess things up! This is about my rent for next month!" Lucy shouts angrily. After all, it has been a long time since she last took on a mission, and if she doesn't earn any income soon, she will really have to seek help.
"Hmph, Girl."
Evangeline turns to look at Lucy and raises her glasses.
"Lucy!"
Gray calls out anxiously.
"Don't look into her eyes!"
"Enough, Evangeline."
Lucy’s line of sight is suddenly blocked by someone; Newton has put on a pair of glasses at some point and looks coldly at Evangeline.
"Dispel your magic."
"Ha! Who do you think you are?"
Evangeline was furious. In truth, the members of the Thunder God Clan had never been fond of Newton. No one understood why Laxus was so wary of him. After all, they were essentially Laxus's guards, and the principle of "the master suffers, the servant dies" applied to the Thunder God Clan without question. They all wanted to see what made Newton so arrogant.
Newton narrowed his eyes as the Philosopher's Stone in his hand began to glow. The ground started to tremble as if it had come to life, enveloping Evangeline's body.
Evangeline immediately released a blinding light, and within that brilliance, a tall figure appeared before Newton.
"Stylish Eye!"
"Get lost!"
At close range, Newton used his Mechanical Arm to slam the helmeted Bigusro down to the ground.
"Alright, stop it."
Laxus finally appeared, accompanied by a handsome man in a robe—Sting, the last member of the Thunder God Clan.
"Newton, let go. Those petrified people are my hostages. You wouldn't want to see Miraj die before your eyes, would you?"
Newton looked coldly at Laxus.
"Laxus, you're going too far."
His voice was flat, even cold, sending a chill through Makarov.
"Too far?"
Laxus burst into wild laughter, then glared at Newton with ferocity.
"Am I going too far!? Do you have any idea how others view us Fairy Tail out there? Just some useless trash looks down on us Fairy Tail because of these worthless fools!"
"So..."
"I am going to initiate a cleansing! Let’s have a grand game, where the strong survive and the weak perish. Let's see who is truly stronger, you or my Thunder God Clan."
"So..."
"Isn't that clear enough for you?"
Laxus frowned as he looked at Newton.
"Newton, join us, and let’s build a truly powerful Guild!"
"So..."
Another repeated question. Laxus was now angry; it was evident that Newton was just looking for trouble, his gaze had turned cold.
"Newton, are you trying to stop me?"
Newton did not respond but instead looked towards the Thunder God Clan.
"If I were to offer half of the Guild's assets as a bounty on you, how many would come after you?"
At this statement, the entire room fell silent in shock, and Makarov shouted anxiously.
"Newton, calm down!"
Even he had some issues with Laxus, but after all, he was his grandson.
However, Newton did not glance at Makarov; he merely stared coldly at Laxus and the Thunder God Clan. Laxus seemed fine, but the Thunder God Clan appeared somewhat unnerved.
No one knew exactly how much money the Guild had, but half of its assets would be enough to drive the entire kingdom into madness.
"Newton, don't push me!"
Laxus knew that if it came to that, he would be in serious trouble.
"I'm pushing you?"
Newton shook his head.
"Child, this society is more real than you imagine. You are too naive."
These words pierced Laxus's heart like a sharp knife. Everything he did was for Fairy Tail, yet the other party called him naive? That was a complete denial of everything Laxus stood for. In an instant, a bolt of lightning struck towards Newton. But an air wall blocked the lightning effortlessly.
"Your lightning is nothing compared to the electrotherapy I could do; you're really weak."
First, he denied Laxus's inner strength, then he belittled Laxus himself. Newton had stabbed Laxus hard and then sprinkled salt on the wound.
"Still talking about establishing the strongest Guild? With you as you are now? Don't make me laugh."
Newton continued to mock Laxus.
"Shut up!"
Laxus charged at Newton in anger, his body crackling with electricity.
"Bang!"
Newton used his Mechanical Arm to pin Laxus to the ground and cursed at him.
"Fool."
Unfortunately, under the thunder, Laxus didn't hear a word.
"Let go of Miraj and the others. I'll give you a chance to do things your way; I won't interfere."
Newton tossed aside his glasses and set down Evangeline, his eyes instinctively turning toward the scene, his entire being beginning to petrify.
"Take a good look, Laxus, you fool."
Newton cursed one last time, then sighed as he glanced at Makarov before he completely turned into stone.
Laxus was furious, wanting to shatter Newton, but doing so would mean his own beliefs would truly collapse.
"Evangeline, release them."
Evangeline could only let go of Miraj and the others. When Miraj saw Newton turned to stone, she transformed in anger and charged directly at Laxus.
"…"
Laxus fell silent for a moment. Evangeline then emitted a blinding light that obscured everyone's vision. When the light faded, Laxus and the entire Thunder God Clan had vanished.
