Near the Home International Hotel, a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy of short stature and lean build rubbed his sleepy eyes as he squatted by the side, waiting idly for his target.
“Wasp! Wasp! If you don’t open up in a few days, you’ll starve!” he muttered to himself while rubbing his empty stomach. His expression was lazy, tinged with a hint of weariness.
"Wasp" was not his real name but a nickname; his actual name was Huang Yunfeng. After his parents divorced and abandoned him, he was left to fend for himself on the streets. With a fierce disposition that made him fight hard—biting back even if it meant getting beaten—he earned the unflattering nickname. His frequent brawls gave him an air of toughness.
With no source of income and needing to survive, Huang Yunfeng had unwittingly turned to thievery at such a young age. Fortunately, both of his parents were educated professionals, leaving him with a decent level of intelligence. He knew how to keep a low profile and had never committed any serious crimes, avoiding jail time.
This year, by some stroke of luck, he caught the attention of a Kunlun Taoist who took him to Kunlun Wonderland, where he was supposed to escape his hardships. However, misfortune struck when the Azure Sky Ancestor and Liexiezi returned, triggering the recognition of the sect's legendary sword. The Azure Sky Ancestor chose him and passed on the Azure Sword. Shortly after, the Azure Sky Ancestor and Liexiezi went into seclusion in Kunlun, treating him no differently than before. His master had been vying for a chance to become one of the disciples forming the Golden Light Phosphor Demon Sword Formation and was understandably furious that this kid had stolen his opportunity. He told Huang Yunfeng, “For cultivators, refining the heart is paramount. You are too worldly; you need to roll around in society for a few more years before you can step into cultivation.” With that, he kicked him back out.
Having received no teachings or survival skills, Huang Yunfeng had no choice but to return to his old ways—thievery! Today he was at the Home International Hotel, one of the few five-star hotels in the city, looking for a target.
As he grew increasingly impatient, a robust figure exited the hotel and caught Huang Yunfeng's eye. His eyes lit up as he thought, “This guy looks impressive; he must be wealthy.”
Huang Yunfeng’s assessment was quite straightforward. The man leaving the hotel indeed exuded an extraordinary presence. Standing at 190 centimeters tall with a physique rivaling any athlete's, he had a square face and piercing eyes that radiated authority—a clear figure accustomed to giving orders.
Thievery was not an easy profession; it was common to go days without stealing anything. Five-star hotels were frequented by wealthy individuals who usually arrived by car, making them difficult targets. Although Huang Yunfeng felt intimidated by the man's imposing height, he considered his own Flying Sword in hand—sometimes effective enough to unleash five beams of sword light—and decided it should be manageable. Gritting his teeth, he flicked away his cigarette butt and pursued his target.
After following him through fourteen blocks, Huang Yunfeng began to feel puzzled. It was unusual for someone to walk such a distance; most people would have taken public transport by now. Even if they couldn’t afford a taxi, bus fares weren’t expensive. Moreover, this man’s attire suggested he was far from poor.
Having walked for nearly two hours without finding an opportune moment to strike, Huang Yunfeng felt hunger pangs gnawing at him since he hadn’t eaten breakfast.
“Damn it! This guy must not have been in the city before; how can he stroll around like this?” Huang Yunfeng muttered under his breath, cursing the burly man for not being more cooperative. To steal from someone required them to be less vigilant and for the environment to be noisy. Seeing no opportunity ahead, Huang Yunfeng prepared to abandon this chance; persistence wasn’t part of his strategy.
Just as he decided to find a small eatery to fill his stomach, the burly man unexpectedly turned around and headed straight towards Huang Yunfeng. Initially startled due to his guilty conscience but reassured since he hadn’t yet attempted anything wrong, Huang Yunfeng relaxed when the man spoke.
“Hey! Kid, do you know where I can exchange gold for cash?”
Huang Yunfeng was momentarily stunned, but he quickly regained his composure. The other person wore an impatient expression, prompting Huang Yunfeng to mutter under his breath, "As expected of a Rube; despite dressing so well, he doesn't even know this basic information." He replied, "Any bank will do. Just go straight ahead and take a left; there’s one right there." While speaking, Huang Yunfeng gestured ahead, indicating the route.
When the other person managed to force a smile in thanks and turned to leave, Huang Yunfeng let out a long sigh of relief as he watched the Brawny Man walk away. Today had not been in vain; while directing him with his left hand, Huang Yunfeng had stealthily reached out with his right hand and successfully made his move.
Having years of experience in this line of work, Huang Yunfeng wasted no time after completing his task. He immediately crossed the street to hail a taxi, eager to leave the scene as soon as possible. After just a few seconds of waiting, a Red Jetta stopped in response to his signal. He opened the door and climbed inside. "East Ring Road!" he said casually to the driver, barely settling into his seat before eagerly inspecting his spoils.
Feeling a weight in his hand, Huang Yunfeng didn’t need to look closely to know it was a wallet; it felt quite heavy. Sitting in the back seat of the taxi, he wasn’t worried about the driver seeing what he was doing. After all, who could guess what line of work he was in?
He pulled out the loot from his clothing and was somewhat surprised. Although there were various wallets and bags for sale in the city, it was hard to believe that someone still used a plain white cloth bag in this day and age. What he held was a palm-sized white cloth pouch. Cursing the unfortunate fellow under his breath, Huang Yunfeng felt a twinge of disappointment.
"Could it be that this guy looks so flashy but is actually just a poor fool?" Reflecting on how he had walked twelve blocks earlier only added to his frustration at having misjudged the situation.
Though Huang Yunfeng thought this haul might not be worth much, curiosity got the better of him, and he casually opened the cloth pouch to see what was inside.
The driver, unable to change lanes due to traffic conditions, was about to ask Huang Yunfeng for directions at an upcoming intersection when suddenly there was a loud explosion from behind them, followed by thick smoke billowing forward. Startled, the driver slammed on the brakes, flung open the door, and bolted out of the car.
As the smoke cleared, the driver was shocked to find that there was no one in his car and no signs of an accident. He stood there dumbfounded in the middle of the road. As onlookers gathered around the smoking taxi, it wasn't until the traffic police arrived that the driver snapped back to reality.
In that instant when Huang Yunfeng opened the cloth pouch, he vanished without a trace. He himself had no idea what had happened or where he had been thrown. One moment he was sitting comfortably in a taxi; the next moment he felt as if he had sunk down and found himself on solid ground. When he finally looked up and opened his eyes again, he was no longer surrounded by cityscapes but instead faced an endless expanse of grassland. Huang Yunfeng was so shocked that he remained frozen for several moments.
This bizarre occurrence left him dazed for over ten minutes without grasping what had transpired. Although he had witnessed some strange events on Kunlun Celestial Path before, he wasn’t truly experienced in such matters and lacked extensive knowledge. After confirming that this wasn’t a dream by feeling himself over, he stood up to figure out what was going on when suddenly a voice called out from behind him, startling him into jumping high.
"You've got some guts! You dare steal my things."
Once Huang Yunfeng calmed down enough to turn around, he found himself face-to-face with none other than the Brawny Man whose belongings he had just stolen. In that moment, Huang Yunfeng's eyes widened in shock as his brain short-circuited. The overwhelming situation made him forget all about fear; he simply stared blankly at the man without any reaction.
"Hmph! Hand it over." The Brawny Man merely huffed lightly, causing Huang Yunfeng's hand to tremble violently. The tightly gripped white cloth pouch slipped from his fingers and flew straight into the Brawny Man's grasp.
Staring incredulously at his own palm, Huang Yunfeng could hardly believe his eyes. In an instant, he had been transported from an urban setting to this vast grassland and witnessed an unbelievable "airborne pouch." It felt like a dream as chills ran down his spine at the sight of the Brawny Man before him. Thinking to himself, "Could this person be some kind of legendary monster?" fearing any further strange actions from him, Huang Yunfeng quickly turned around and took off running.
"Where are you going? You should just stay here and behave."
Huang Yunfeng heard the relaxed tone of the Brawny Man behind him, and an inexplicable force tugged at his back, lifting him off the ground. He flailed his arms and legs in a panic but couldn't grasp what was pulling him. After struggling for a while and exhausting himself, Huang Yunfeng had no choice but to stop fighting. A force naturally turned his body around to face the calm and unmoving Brawny Man standing on the ground.
"Sir, no, Hero! I was momentarily foolish and stole your belongings. I promise I won't do it again. I will turn over a new leaf and become a better person..." Cold sweat dripped down Huang Yunfeng's forehead as he spoke desperately. What was happening before him clearly exceeded all reason. If he weren't aware that he was definitely not the son of an eighty-year-old mother, he would have recited this classic line long ago. As long as there was a glimmer of hope for survival, he was unwilling to give up.
"Is this person human or some kind of monster? What is it that's lifting me... Could it be those people from Kunlun trying to steal my immortal sword?" Thoughts swirled in Huang Yunfeng's mind. No matter how bold he usually was, he felt utterly terrified now.
At that moment, the burly man raised his hand, and Huang Yunfeng found himself falling to the ground involuntarily. Realizing he couldn't escape, he obediently waited for the man's next move. The man seemed pleased with Huang Yunfeng's behavior and said lightly, "I just returned from the Zhendans Star System a few days ago. I'm not accustomed to Earth's backward civilization. Not only is transportation underdeveloped, but currency circulation is also lagging behind. Human morality is low; every negotiation is tangled and complicated. Today, I was even stolen from by you. If this gets back to the Zhendans Star System, it would tarnish my reputation significantly. However, if you are willing to run errands for me during my stay on Earth, I will not only spare you but also grant you one wish."
Huang Yunfeng's mind raced at these words. "What is the Zhendans Star System? Is this person an alien? No wonder he can teleport and lift people into the air... It must be some technique beyond human understanding. Perhaps even more powerful than those from the Kunlun Sect."
"Then let me become an alien like you!" Without thinking twice, Huang Yunfeng blurted out. He had read enough third-rate novels about being abducted by aliens and transformed into an invincible superman that this dream had crossed his mind countless times. At that moment, his tongue made a decision before his brain could catch up.
The Brawny Man burst into a brilliant smile at Huang Yunfeng's response. Most people would have countless questions, yet Huang Yunfeng's first thought was such an absurd idea. This saved him the trouble of explaining further. After a moment of thought, the Brawny Man replied, "I am also from Earth; I just immigrated to the Zhendans Star System. It’s not impossible for you to be transformed, but I cannot affect Earth's development in doing so. Therefore, after your transformation, you cannot stay on Earth; you must leave with me. Have you made your decision?"
Huang Yunfeng did not expect the man to be so agreeable and quickly nodded in response. He had been sneaking around on Earth, living aimlessly without parents or friends; he didn't even know if he had any relatives left. After finally finding a sect, he was kicked out over a Flying Sword incident—he had no lingering attachments to Earth whatsoever.
Huang Yunfeng's eagerness surprised the Brawny Man. He had anticipated that Huang Yunfeng would consider his options before agreeing; he planned to describe interstellar travel as terrifying to instill fear in him and conveniently reject his request later on. Now he found himself unsure of how to proceed with the conversation. After contemplating for a moment, the Brawny Man smiled slightly; since he still had some time left on Earth, there was no rush to reject Huang Yunfeng's request.
