The Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures are legendary artifacts within the Eastern Cultivator lore. Although each of them has been cultivated by individuals in the past, no one has ever managed to gather a complete set. The cultivation secrets of this set of treasures are not exclusive to any particular sect but rather the culmination of the collective wisdom of countless practitioners. Originally, their purpose was likely to defy fate and resist Heavenly Tribulation. However, through generations of refinement by predecessors, several different versions have emerged.
The blueprint in Yamata no Orochi's hands is for the Ultimate PK Set.
The set includes the Blazing Radiance Armor, Golden Radiance Talisman, Purple Fire Luminous Shield, Five Fire Burning Immortal Hook, Ice Fire Radiance Silk, Great Sun Mirror, and Toxic Flame Azure Dragon Banner. This ensemble primarily embodies the properties of light and flame, boasting terrifying attack power when combined, along with unprecedented enhancements to speed. Any practitioner with even a modicum of skill who obtains this Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures can easily surpass twenty times the speed of sound. When paired with their own abilities, they become like lightning—swift in attack and elusive in retreat. It creates a scenario where they can strike without being hit.
While this set may be slightly lacking in defensive capabilities compared to something like the Golden Light Convergence Array, it is only marginally inferior. However, why would one need such strong defenses with a speed-focused set?
Yamata no Orochi has held dominion over Japan for many years, possessing resources that are rare in this world. Even so, he has only managed to gather materials for two pieces of the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures set, both of which are for the Toxic Flame Azure Dragon Banner. With the Celestial Stone that Fang Lin Kong gifted him today, Yamata no Orochi is confident he can forge another Ice Fire Radiance Silk. Therefore, he was not lying; since Fang Lin Kong possesses such abilities, together they could at least cultivate three or four pieces of this set.
In response to Yamata no Orochi's suggestion, Fang Lin Kong remained noncommittal and simply said, "I will certainly do my utmost to assist the Nine-Headed Senior in cultivating treasures. However, there is no need for me to cultivate a set myself; I do not lack treasures at present. Moreover, I need to focus on my own cultivation and do not have time to spend on such time-consuming endeavors."
Yamata no Orochi nodded slightly; he understood that Fang Lin Kong was ultimately not part of the International Demon Alliance system and was closer to talents like Liexiezi and Azure Sky Ancestor. Fang Lin Kong's reluctance to cultivate such treasures must stem from his own considerations, but as long as Fang Lin Kong supported him materially in forging treasures, Yamata no Orochi did not care about anything else.
Seeing Yamata no Orochi's reaction, Fang Lin Kong felt inspired and said, "With the Nine-Headed Senior's current collection, if we could start forging the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures immediately, I could lend a hand. Some techniques I have cultivated give me considerable insight into fire-related spells!"
Yamata no Orochi smiled slightly and replied, "I was indeed planning to begin cultivating the Toxic Flame Azure Dragon Banner; however, all my preparations are in Japan. Currently, I lack a suitable alchemy furnace and other auxiliary materials. Additionally, setting up protective formations will take some time. We should return to Earth first."
Fang Lin Kong eagerly recommended using Azure Fire Divine Flame and True Fire of the Rabbit as supreme true fires for forging artifacts that could completely replace ordinary alchemy furnaces. Yet Yamata no Orochi was reluctant to risk his treasured possessions accumulated over many years for experimentation and merely brushed it off. As Fang Lin Kong's enthusiasm grew stronger without any chance for practical testing, he took his leave from Yamata no Orochi and hurriedly departed from the ocean platform. On his way back to the continent, he stealthily entered the Heaven and Earth Wisdom Book.
At Eternal Temple lies the living quarters for the Golden Consort and Colorful Feather Clan's young warriors. The abandoned port showed no signs of life. The Chaos Artisan Furnace appeared quite lively; those uniquely shaped Gnomes had already refined the Celestial Stones that Fang Lin Kong had sent multiple times into high-purity energy stones. They were neatly categorized and stored in the Chaos Artisan Furnace's warehouse.
Fang Lin Kong had long realized that these Gnomes were not any biological species but rather approached a form of artificial intelligence. The Main God Temple within Chaos Artisan Furnace served as their breeding center. According to their intended use, they were classified into seven levels: divine craftsman level, master level, down to apprentice level. Whenever a Gnome encountered an issue, it would be sent back to the Main God Temple for repairs; if it couldn't be fixed, it would be melted down and a new one produced.
On the control panel of the Main God Temple were countless manufacturing processes; as long as there were sufficient raw materials, production plans could be freely established for these Gnomes to create required products. These manufacturing processes included armor, weapons, flying vehicles, mechanical birds, flame dragons, and countless other incredible items.
Fang Lin Kong had once attempted to compile a program for crafting Flying Swords; after several failures, he actually succeeded in creating one. Although that Flying Sword was not of high grade, its production quality was still quite good. Compared to manual crafting methods, the manufacturing standards at Chaos Artisan Furnace were far more precise; identical items produced here were significantly superior in quality compared to handcrafted ones—almost perfect.
With this experience under his belt, Fang Lin Kong felt confident about forging the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures. Not only did he have ample materials—what was stockpiled at Chaos Artisan Furnace likely exceeded all mineral reserves on Gouli Continent—but some peculiar materials were entirely unfamiliar to him. Moreover, Fang Lin Kong did not intend to start from scratch in forging the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures; otherwise, the time required would be unacceptable for him.
Upon entering the Main God Temple of the Chaos Artisan Furnace, Fang Lin Kong began to design how to transform his existing magical artifacts, aiming to create several sets of Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures. Following the blueprints provided by Yamata no Orochi, Fang Lin Kong utilized the vast amount of data contained within the Main God Temple of the Chaos Artisan Furnace to start filtering through options. His goal was to find a design that could maximize a certain capability.
The Main God Temple of the Chaos Artisan Furnace resembled an almost infinite database; Fang Lin Kong could even find manufacturing procedures for eternal-grade artifacts. However, he simultaneously encountered a note indicating a severe shortage of materials.
The Future Seer had previously informed him about the basic concepts of artifact levels, but those explanations were quite brief. It was only within the database of the Chaos Artisan Furnace that Fang Lin Kong truly understood how to classify the levels of magical artifacts.
In simple terms, the quality of raw materials directly determined the level of an artifact. Only sturdy and extremely difficult-to-damage materials could be used to create indestructible items. Weapons capable of withstanding cosmic energy storms required materials that were also incredibly hard to refine. Nevertheless, weapons like the Haotian Divine Sword could still be refined over thousands of years using powerful energies like the True Fire of the Rabbit. Eternal-grade artifacts had already transcended the limits between energy and matter, incorporating principles of time and space. Therefore, theoretically, they could not be completely destroyed.
The level of the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures was actually lower than that of weapons like the Haotian Divine Sword, Heavenly Edge Reversal Blade, or Four Treasures of the Demon Gate. However, once combined into seven treasures, they exhibited a peculiar energy layer that resulted in a qualitative leap in overall artifact level. Even after exhausting their spiritual energy, artifacts like the Haotian Divine Sword remained difficult to destroy, while the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures lacked such robust qualities; they relied on the synergy between the energies of the seven artifacts and would revert to their original forms once their energy was depleted.
However, encountering a situation where such powerful artifacts as the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures could exhaust all their energy was nearly impossible on Earth. The disparity in material quality for the Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures was entirely compensated for by their design advantages.
After retrieving a large amount of data, Fang Lin Kong had a clear concept of how to proceed with programming.
"I don't need to forge a set that is flawless in quality, craftsmanship, and capabilities. I only need it to function adequately. With this in mind, I can choose raw materials that are cost-effective and low-priced without compromising power. It's like some cheap laptop—stability in operation is not even necessary."
With this thought in mind, Fang Lin Kong quickly finalized the design overview for his first attack set. Since lethality was his top priority, he did not plan to consider this all-attack Heaven-Defying Seven Treasures' defensive capabilities or survival rates.
"Heavenly Stone Divine Hammer, Heavenly Strike Water Sword, Crimson Flame Yin Fire Blade, Eightfold Black Wind Sail, Nine Heavens Thunder Seal, Black Blood Demon Slayer Stab, Devouring Void Peck! It's settled; each artifact can self-destruct if necessary, with enough power to obliterate one percent of a planet!"
Once the program design was complete and commands issued, Gnomes immediately began manufacturing. Watching the production progress take several hours to complete prompted Fang Lin Kong to conceive another idea for an all-defense set. Since defense was paramount, inferior-quality raw materials would not suffice; however, Fang Lin Kong did not intend to use any primitive materials for this creation. Instead, he planned to completely overhaul the Azure God Armor obtained from Ancient God Chaos.
The Azure God Armor possessed immense power but did not suit Fang Lin Kong's preferences; thus he had never utilized it. Such a powerful artifact lying idle felt like a waste. As a combat fortress, while its power was formidable, it forced its user into a role as a meat shield and siege warrior—something Fang Lin Kong would never do; he had no intention of recklessly charging into battle like a doomed hero.
With defensive capabilities rivaling those of Thirty-Three Heavens Sealing Techniques and the destructive power of Azure Fire God Hammer combined with his collection of Massive Azure Flame Divine Thunder as foundations, Fang Lin Kong believed he could create an artifact focused on self-preservation. The Azure God Armor was nearly flawless in defense but lacked speed in movement. He recalled an item from Voidbreaker’s treasures—the Five Elements Escape Spirit Flag. If he could enhance Azure God Armor's capabilities by transplanting various spells from the Five Elements Escape Spirit Flag onto it, wouldn’t that be wonderful?
Fang Lin Kong enjoyed his comfortable days while having leisure time to craft equipment. In contrast, Banma had not been able to relax at all. The Fifth Guard Brigade had completed detailed maps of Northern Gouli Continent; due to mining operations at Celestial Stone Vein, exploration efforts in Southern Gouli Continent had to be temporarily halted. With three guard teams and nearly as many experts under his care, Banma needed to manage food, clothing, housing, and safety for around five or six hundred people.
The base he established was not far from Sky Lake. After thorough data collection, Banma believed that being close to Sky Lake was relatively safe due to the presence of Azure Sky Rhinoceros. Of course, he still needed to maintain distance from Sky Lake itself where these powerful monsters frequently roamed.
Just like this world without a fixed protagonist, Banma also has his own absolute privacy. As a great demon with over ten thousand years of cultivation experience, Banma possesses countless means that surpass those of Cower in Japan or the young Fang Lin Kong. At the very least, he has ways to contact his subordinates on Earth.
Banma has methods of communication that transcend spatial division; this is a personal secret of his, known only to him, not even to Zhou Qingzhe and others. Therefore, when external messages continuously reached Banma, the ruler of the demon realm in Africa for thousands of years, he felt increasingly anxious.
The Demon Hunting Team could mobilize combat troops to target Zhou Qingzhe's grand plan for the demon race. In the days to come, it would be unreasonable for everyone to laugh it off and misunderstand the situation. The absence of Arlen Xuding Si did not mean the collapse of the Demon Hunting Team's strength. In the subsequent war, hidden experts within the Demon Hunting Team emerged one by one, making it far from easy for the International Demon Alliance to cope.
Liexiezi and Azure Sky Ancestor are ultimately human cultivators. All Daoist sects on the Eastern Continent jointly declared their non-involvement in this matter. This declaration did not appear as selfless as it seemed; behind-the-scenes dealings were far from what outsiders could know. Similarly, this agreement was also effective for Liexiezi and Azure Sky Ancestor, who hailed from Kunlun Celestial Path. If they ignored this declaration, then Zhuang Lou, Grand Master would intervene to maintain order.
After the outbreak of full-scale war, Zhou Qingzhe finally confirmed his position as the leader of the International Demon Alliance. With neither Banma nor Ice King expressing clear opposition, he united global demon forces to launch a counterattack against the Demon Hunting Team.
In the American Continent, Yuan Qian Kun had been operating for many years. Although Liexiezi had just ascended to the position of Chairman of the International Demon Alliance, he replaced Arlen Xuding Si and became the eighth Divine Extremity, firmly securing his position. Because of this, after negotiations with him, the Western Sea President of the American Exorcist Guild announced America as a non-war zone due to his existing dissatisfaction with the Demon Hunting Team. He personally eliminated several high-ranking members of the Demon Hunting Team who intended to provoke conflict and thwarted scheming demons, bringing a brief period of peace to America.
The Asian Continent, being Zhou Qingzhe's stronghold, naturally became a hotbed for war. The situation in Europe was similar; almost every day there were reports of high-ranking members of the Demon Hunting Team being killed alongside notable demons.
In Australia, where Ice King is based, and in uninhabited Antarctica, as well as across endless oceans, small-scale skirmishes have occurred due to the inability of the Demon Hunting Team to manage larger conflicts.
What worried Banma most was undoubtedly his homeland. Africa is currently in chaos. The combat troops of the Demon Hunting Team have surged into Africa, with massacres occurring daily. If it weren't for Africa's overwhelming number of demons and their fierce resistance, it is feared that the Demon Hunting Team would be even more rampant.
Unlike wars between human governments, battles involving these extraordinary beings do not follow conventional warfare rules such as two armies clashing or seizing territory. Both sides deploy their strongest fighters and engage in relentless guerrilla tactics aimed at annihilating each other's active forces.
