Some less prepared monsters, in a moment of panic, remembered that their phones still had digital capabilities and took them out as well. Fang Lin Kong secured the best position, setting up for the spectacle.
"The challenger from the Otherworldly Gouli Continent has an unknown identity, but their monster power level has already surpassed six digits. As for our Nine-Headed Lord, unfortunately, its power level has only reached fifty-six thousand. Based on pre-battle data analysis, we can draw two conclusions: one is pessimistic—our Nine-Headed Lord is far behind in both power increase speed and maximum power compared to the opponent. In terms of energy intensity, Tengu Zongyuan surpassed Yamata no Orochi, but when it came to combat skills, there was a clear disparity between them. During the battle, taking advantage of a momentary lapse from Tengu Zongyuan, Yamata no Orochi feigned an attack and summoned its own Shikigami. With a clang, Tengu Zongyuan nearly spat blood as two tails of axes failed to break through its protective energy and bounced back.
The previously expressionless face of Yamata no Orochi finally showed some emotion. It was not surprised by how formidable Tengu Zongyuan's protective skills were; after all, that strike with two tails had not landed on flesh but rather on the divine weapon that had been strapped to its back.
"To withstand the sharpness of two tails before fully revealing its form—this divine weapon is extraordinary! The resources from the Gouli Continent are truly abundant; with their seemingly backward technological standards, they have managed to forge such weapons."
Unbeknownst to others, Yamata no Orochi was well aware of the power of his twin axes. Yamata no Orochi wavered between the thoughts of killing Tengu Zongyuan cruelly or letting him go. For a moment, he did not respond to Tengu Zongyuan's words. Fang Lin Kong's sword light soared into the air, taking over for Yamata no Orochi as he said, "With such a large number of captives, providing food will be quite challenging. If we could expedite things, please simplify the process as much as possible. We do not have much food with us, and it may not suit your people's tastes!"
Tengu Zongyuan thought to himself, "Isn't this clearly a plan to mistreat the captives?" However, he did not argue; with a wave of his hand, he signaled the remaining Fengfeng Tribe soldiers to retreat towards Lin'an Island.
The Fengfeng army from Lin'an Island did not recognize Tengu Zongyuan. However, having been defeated and with their commander Jiu Gui Yu Zhai now a hostage of Fang Lin Kong, they had no objections and followed Tengu Zongyuan off the battlefield.
Fang Lin Kong let out a sigh of relief and activated his Innate Sword Artifact. Countless transparent sword lights layered around him for protection. Then he reached out and lightly patted Nine-Headed's shoulder, saying, "Nine-Headed Lord! Nine-Headed? Yamata no Orochi! Wake up... what’s wrong with you?"
Having sensed something amiss with Nine-Headed earlier, Fang Lin Kong felt an ominous premonition. After calling out several times, Yamata no Orochi finally came back to his senses and calmly replied, "I am fine; it's just that my murderous intent has spiraled out of control, leading to some bloodthirsty thoughts."
Yamata no Orochi spoke so directly that Fang Lin Kong felt somewhat embarrassed and was about to chuckle awkwardly. But when he saw Yamata no Orochi's gaze, he could no longer laugh. It was a look devoid of life, filled with desolation, bleakness, death, bloodshed, decay... an endless array of negative emotions. That's right; I practice the Heavenly Demon Ten Strategies alongside the Eternal Demon Suppression Scripture and Blood God Manual as one of the most profound techniques of the Demon Gate. Moreover, I was once one of the Five Emperors and Ten Ancestors of the demonic path; however, now nobody knows my identity anymore. You are the only one who does!"
Upon hearing Yamata no Orochi's words, Fang Lin Kong suddenly felt a chill run down his spine as he realized that Yamata no Orochi had somehow cast a spell to block all detection around them. This meant that their conversation could not be overheard by anyone else. While Nine-Headed Bird knowing his identity was not surprising, Fang Lin Kong was puzzled as to why Yamata no Orochi would reveal such a secret to him.
"Humans are indeed much smarter than beasts. Since the rise of Xian Dao, monsters have gradually fallen into disadvantage. The thousands of years of cultivation experience they possess cannot compare to a human's century-long effort. Do you think all monsters are stubborn fools? Fang Lin Kong understood that Yamata no Orochi was finally getting to the point and respectfully asked, "If that's the case, is there any way I can assist you?"
Yamata no Orochi smiled and said, "I will later pass on to you the key points of the Heavenly Demon Ten Strategies as a reference for countering my martial arts Spells. The next time I go berserk, you can come and stop me from killing!"
Yamata no Orochi spoke so casually that Fang Lin Kong felt his hair stand on end. Indeed, Fang Lin Kong considered himself quite capable. Even if he faced strong opponents like Zhou Qingzhe or Banma, although he might not win, he believed he could put up a fight.
