"Don't get the wrong idea; it's just sweat. In ancient times, there was the Sweat Blood Horse, during the era of Darsin King, and the Golden Sweat Consort..."
With a sudden kick, he struck Fang Lin Kong's head, sending him straight into the Eternal Temple.
The familiar voice that reached his ears was unmistakable—it was none other than Fang Lin Kong himself from the future.
When both versions of Fang Lin Kong appeared in the Eternal Temple, he truly felt that his trials were far from over. Looking at the Future Seer, he was about to explode with anger, but a calm remark effortlessly quelled all his fury.
"I've come to tell you that some plans have exceeded my perception. The emergence of this thing is something I've never encountered before. The future has diverged significantly from what I knew!"
The base of the Eternal Temple had expanded to more than ten times its original size, and its form had completely transformed. Connected to the Eternal Temple were two enormous bases; on one side rested countless Divine Ships with wings—two, four, six, or even hundreds of pairs of Light Wings. On the other side were small gnomes who seemed perpetually tireless, working on machines whose functions no one could comprehend. Various incomprehensible completed products towered higher than pyramids.
Fang Lin Kong had no chance to focus on these things; for him, the Future Seer was far more captivating.
"What’s different doesn’t concern me; I want to know what this thing is. I also saw what seemed to be some very powerful beings heading toward Earth. Will there be a crisis for Earth in the future?"
The Future Seer sighed lightly and replied, "Five years from now, two powerful Ancient Immortals will arrive on Earth. Their appearance will likely result in the loss of millions of lives—hardly a crisis by comparison. These two Ancient Immortals are pursuing a divine artifact known as the Taihao Ruins. Although what Zhou Qingzhe possesses is somewhat similar in function to what they are after, their values are worlds apart."
"As for this thing you have," he continued, "I've looked into some information and consulted a few well-informed friends. I've only managed to uncover two things. First, this object is called the Heaven and Earth Wisdom Book. It consists of sixteen fragments scattered throughout the universe. I doubt you will be able to collect them all. The creator is unknown, but its purpose seems to be recording the universe's Star Map and serving as a super transportation tool across the cosmos. In terms of rank, it is a super treasure on par with the Taihao Ruins that those two Ancient Immortals will be fighting over—both are treasures of incalculable value!"
Fang Lin Kong was left stunned by the answers continuously thrown at him by the Future Seer.
"Millions dead, and that's not considered a crisis? Since you come from the future, you must have experienced firsthand what it was like when they destroyed the Earth. What was it really like? And what exactly sets the Taihao Ruins and the Heaven and Earth Wisdom Book apart from ordinary treasures?"
The Future Seer let out a bitter laugh and replied, "When those two Ancient Immortals appeared, I happened to be off Earth and never encountered them. As for the Taihao Ruins and the Heaven and Earth Wisdom Book, that's a long story..."
"Let me first explain the levels of life in the universe! According to general classification, beings capable of creating the Taihao Ruins and the Heaven and Earth Wisdom Book can be referred to as Foundational Level." The Future Seer shrugged and added, "I've never seen such ultimate existences. Don't ask me how powerful they are."
"Next is the Star God Level. The two beings you encountered, the Divine Beast White Dragon and Ancient God Chaos, are roughly at that level. However, they are among the weakest in the Star God Level. I've seen even more formidable beings; one of them had a treasure that was nearly dozens of Star systems in size. As for why such a powerful being is still at Star God Level instead of Foundational Level, it's because I could create treasures of that level too, given a few hundred billion years of relentless labor. But I can't create the Taihao Ruins or the Heaven and Earth Wisdom Book; I don't have the ability to destroy them either. I can't even comprehend how they operate. Even if you gave me one to study for millions of years, I wouldn't be able to replicate it!"
Fang Lin Kong was left astonished, stuttering as he said, "You’re already a monster at Star God Level? No wonder you're so abnormal!"
The Future Seer punched him in the face impatiently and said, "Idiot! Let me finish my explanation. I'm not at the Star God Level yet. As for what I am, you don't need to worry about that. After Star God Level comes Ancient Immortal and deities; the former ascends through cultivation while the latter are born as cosmic divine beings. If a Divine Extremity on Earth were to ascend and wander through the universe for a few thousand years without dying beforehand, they could also be called an Ancient Immortal—provided they grasped the ability to move freely in space."
"Things created by Foundational Level beings are called Foundational Artifacts. Those made by Star God Level beings are eternal-grade artifacts.
As for slightly lower-level treasures that can traverse dimensional space without being destroyed by energy storms, those refined by immortals are called Celestial Artifacts, while those made by cosmic divine beings are referred to as divine artifacts. Saying this is practically pointless practice. What I want to tell you is..."
"You currently possess a Foundational Artifact! Do you have any thoughts about that?"
Fang Lin Kong confronted the Future Seer and after a moment said, "I have two thoughts: First, you’re not planning to steal my treasure, are you? Second, do I still have an eternal-grade artifact?"
Receiving another harsh kick to his head, Fang Lin Kong was sent crashing down onto the dome of the Eternal Temple. His illusory form had long since vanished, while on the ground, two Golden Consorts watching their conversation had already hidden far away to observe from a distance.
The Eternal Temple was incredibly sturdy; even with protective energy coursing through him, Fang Lin Kong crashed into it without leaving a dent. As he struggled to stabilize himself and grasped onto a protruding edge of the dome, a vicious foot came down again, sending him tumbling back to the ground.
"You are holding a Foundational Artifact, but it's just a fragment. I'm not interested in snatching that away from you. As for the Eternal-level artifacts, you don't have even half of one on you."
"When an immortal Ascends, they must transcend the levels of this world, which means that most of the treasures they have refined throughout their lives will be damaged by the Heavenly Tribulation. Most cultivators are reluctant to part with these treasures, so they leave them on Earth as gifts for their juniors. However, if a treasure can survive the Heavenly Tribulation alongside its master, it can evolve into a Celestial Artifact, just like the immortals who Ascend. Unless one has cultivated for a long enough time to become an Ancient Immortal, the treasures possessed by immortals are merely ordinary; only a few items that were carried during the initial Ascend can evolve into Celestial Artifacts. Treasures that can evolve into Celestial Artifacts are extremely difficult to refine. Examples include the Haotian Divine Sword, the Four Treasures of the Demon Gate, the Liexie Twin Hooks, the Heavenly Edge Reversal Blade, and a Celestial Sword of Void Cutting that you haven't even considered. All of these are treasures that could potentially evolve into Celestial Artifacts."
Fang Lin Kong got up from the ground and glared at Future Seer. If he hadn't already known the gap between them, he would have rushed forward, unleashing all his treasures to attack him fiercely.
The two remained silent for a long time until Fang Lin Kong suddenly blurted out, "What about Ding Qingya? I feel like I'm no longer the person I used to be. Even though I want to treat her well, I can't guarantee that I'll bring her happiness or disaster!"
Future Seer placed a hand on Fang Lin Kong's shoulder and suddenly uttered something perplexing.
"I don't know your future either!"
"I only know that in the relationship I experienced, I never had the chance to tell the girl I loved most in my life: 'I love you!' That is a regret I can never make up for..."
"Perhaps my decision to go back and try to bring you two together was completely wrong. You should take care of yourself!"
Just as Fang Lin Kong was about to say something, Future Seer suddenly shifted from being eternally energetic and enthusiastic to feeling desolate and disheartened. The impact on him was unprecedented, leaving him at a loss for words.
"To manipulate the sands of time, what we gain from coming and going is not the same result. But what’s laughable is that even the process becomes different. Throughout history, which philosopher has been able to unravel the enigma of 'time'?"
