With the first life having emerged, it was only natural that a second one followed suit. However, instead of the expected hatchlings of birds, these new lives appeared with a strange transformation, arriving in the world resembling human infants.
Fang Lin Kong scratched his head in frustration, cursing himself for having prematurely implanted the twelve teachings of Kunlun Taoism into the memories of these undeveloped beings. It seemed that the innate talents of the Colorful Celestial Bird allowed them to cultivate to the stage of transformation while still in their eggs, even influenced by Fang Lin Kong, resulting in their human-like appearance at birth.
"I remember a user named Cake who adored children. His lifelong dream was to save enough money to open an orphanage in Australia, raising a multitude of Loli Shota around him—much quicker than having his own. Who would have thought that I would realize this dream even before him? But how on earth am I supposed to care for all these little babies?"
Just as Fang Lin Kong was grappling with this dilemma, a surge of energy rippled through his Spiritual Awareness. He had already set up a barrier in the incubation chamber to protect his precious results. Now that someone was trying to enter, he was eager to find out how to manage this group of playful little ones.
A colorful figure leaped down from the cliff, exuding a familiar aura but bearing an entirely unfamiliar appearance. Fang Lin Kong beheld an unparalleled beauty, a stunning woman. Yet, it was her aura that astonished him.
"Are you Your Majesty the Bird Emperor?"
Fang Lin Kong asked uncertainly, feeling somewhat ridiculous for even suggesting it. However, he received a definitive nod in response.
"Thank you, Mr. Ember, for teaching my kind how to cultivate. We now possess enough strength to protect ourselves. Although we are not yet capable of defeating the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon, it is merely a matter of time. These young birds will grow within months; if Mr. Ember has other matters to attend to, I can take care of them."
Fang Lin Kong understood that he could not keep such a large group of little ones with him and quickly nodded in agreement.
The transformation of Bird Emperor Honghu into such a beautiful woman took Fang Lin Kong by surprise. Having reached the Transformation Realm, Bird Emperor Honghu's spiritual power had elevated to a level beyond Fang Lin Kong's comprehension. In terms of pure strength, she seemed to surpass Zhou Qingzhe; however, if it came down to actual combat, Fang Lin Kong believed that the side with more experience and deeper martial skills would likely prevail—those seasoned old monsters.
When Fang Lin Kong returned to the cliff, he saw dozens of handsome men and beautiful women awaiting his arrival. Additionally, there were over a hundred who had not fully transformed into human forms yet; they bore some avian traits and sported colorful wings—the Colorful Tribe.
Comparatively speaking, Fang Lin Kong found himself more drawn to those who had not completely taken on human shapes within the Colorful Tribe. The young girls with bright eyes and white teeth danced gracefully atop the mountain peaks draped in vibrant feathers—more enchanting than any fantasy epic. Of course, he could easily overlook the handsome young men who did not attract his interest.
Practicing authentic Daoist Sect methods not only enhanced one's power but also awakened wisdom. Confronting Bird Emperor Honghu again, Fang Lin Kong no longer felt that sense of connection with this "big silly bird."
Seated on an unexpectedly large chair that he didn't know when it had arrived, Bird Emperor Honghu exuded an air of regal dignity. With just a glance from her phoenix-like eyes, her avian warrior subordinates stood at attention, not daring to show any signs of laxity.
"As the queen of the Colorful Tribe, I have led my people through countless years. Yet we have long suffered under the threat of the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon without being able to fight back. Today, thanks to Mr. Ember's assistance, our tribe will no longer be mere beasts but will become one of the most noble Intelligent Life forms in this world..."
Fang Lin Kong had never been one for lengthy speeches during his school days and found himself growing drowsy listening now. Nevertheless, he absorbed some information: this Gouli Continent was said to have been created by a Creator God; however, according to ancient tales from the Colorful Tribe, this creator seemed less like an original author and more like one who had engaged in acts akin to plagiarism. Every creature here was supposedly transferred from other worlds by this Creator God.
As with all myths across various cultures, the Creator God eventually vanished—not due to being summoned before a cosmic tribunal for plagiarizing another Creator God's works and sentenced to imprisonment for a billion years—but rather because they could no longer tend to this beautiful and bountiful land.
In this world, the hierarchy of life is determined by the level of intelligence possessed by its beings. Creatures like the Colorful Celestial Bird and the Azure Sky Rhinoceros, despite their immense power, are excluded from the ranks of higher life forms.
According to the creation laws of the Gouli Continent, only those with high intelligence can establish nations and possess their own civilizations.
Fang Lin Kong found himself increasingly uneasy as he listened. The creation laws of the Gouli Continent seemed merely ornamental, or perhaps they had once held significance in ancient legends. After some contemplation, Fang Lin Kong arrived at a rather bizarre conclusion: "This Gouli Continent must have been cultivated like a garden by some unknown powerful entity, gathering ideal species from the universe and then customizing a set of management rules. Eventually, however, the management team collectively resigned, leaving no rules in place..."
"Yet it seems that this foolish group still clings to their ancient beliefs! It appears that there is much to uncover about the mysteries of this continent..."
Once Bird Emperor Honghu concluded the meeting, Fang Lin Kong was eager to take his leave. Seeing that he could not be persuaded to stay, Bird Emperor Honghu ordered his subordinates to present a brocade box to Fang Lin Kong, saying, "Our Colorful Clan is very grateful for Mr. Ember's assistance. This item is a divine artifact left behind by the Creator God. However, neither I nor several generations of clan leaders have been able to discern its mysteries. We pass it on to you, Mr. Ember, hoping that your wisdom can unlock its power and aid you in returning home."
Fang Lin Kong accepted the brocade box with gratitude, nodding repeatedly as he said, "If this gift truly helps us return, I will be immensely grateful for Your Majesty the Bird Emperor's generosity. Once we find a place to settle down on this journey, I will come back for the two thousand Colorful Clan birdfolk."
Bird Emperor Honghu held a favorable impression of Fang Lin Kong. Just as they were chatting casually, a beautiful young girl soared up from the cliffside. She appeared somewhat weaker than others; her temples adorned with colorful feathers and her arms connected to her wings as she flew gracefully like a radiant cloud.
"Bird Emperor," she reported, "two Gou Gou Da Shuai have invaded our territory from Hundred Poison Ridge. Should we allow them to come and go freely?"
Bird Emperor Honghu pondered for a moment before responding, "Although our clan's strength has suddenly increased, there is no need to flaunt it immediately. Let us ignore them for now."
The beautiful girl glanced at Fang Lin Kong and added, "However, those two Gou Gou Da Shuai have already engaged in combat with Mr. Ember's companions. I'm afraid..."
Fang Lin Kong furrowed his brow and quickly exclaimed that he would return shortly before shooting into the sky like a streak of light.
Watching Fang Lin Kong vanish in an instant, Bird Emperor Honghu felt compelled to act and commanded Alia and Windrunner to take their subordinates and follow Mr. Ember. If necessary, they could provide assistance.
Fang Lin Kong's anxiety was palpable upon hearing that his companions were under attack. He had learned a bit about the Bagua Mountain Range from Bird Emperor Honghu. The Bagua Mountain Range lay roughly in the northern center of the Northern Continent and spanned east to west across the entire Gouli Continent. Besides Bird Emperor Honghu's clan being relatively powerful, there were six or seven other formidable races; however, none could rival the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon.
The direction of Hundred Poison Ridge belonged to the Insect Emperor's territory. In addition to warriors from the Insect Emperor's own clan, there were also fierce insect races such as the Gou Gou Clan and the Hundred-Legged Clan stationed there. The number of insect creatures in Hundred Poison Ridge far exceeded that of the Colorful Feather Clan. Although Insect Emperor rarely instigated wars, he seldom restrained his subordinates either; conflicts between both sides occurred frequently.
In terms of combat strength, the Colorful Feather Clan combined with their allied feathered races was significantly stronger than Insect Emperor's warriors; however, they suffered greatly in terms of reproductive capacity and population size. Most wars sparked by random skirmishes ended with heavy losses for the Colorful Feather Clan.
Fang Lin Kong was not overly concerned about these peculiar races. Although they possessed considerable combat power, these unintelligent beasts were easily manipulated into offering what was needed without much thought. It was instead the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon that troubled him greatly. Yuan Qian Kun had marked this area on his map as dangerous but provided no further details about what made it so perilous.
If the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon was on par with Divine Beast White Dragon or Ancient God Chaos—beings Fang Lin Kong had encountered—then any hopes for an International Demon Alliance on this Gouli Continent would be futile. Even if Kyo Kusanagi were present in full force, they would not stand a chance against such an existence.
Fang Lin Kong moved swiftly; within three to five minutes, he returned to where the First Guard Brigade was camped. Two massive creatures covered in tough shells were battling against an airborne Divine Ship. Each time they unleashed their gleaming tails—resembling steel hooks—shooting out beams of yellow light at the Divine Ship’s shield, it caused violent tremors. Despite efforts from members of the First Guard Brigade aboard the Divine Ship to retaliate fiercely, they had yet to eliminate these two monsters.
Upon returning just in time to see Yuan Tiankong and Yamata no Orochi leaving the Divine Ship to join forces against these two creatures, Fang Lin Kong prepared himself for battle.
The power level of Yamata no Orochi was on par with Zhou Qingzhe, yet it had rarely made an appearance. Yuan Tiankong, prior to this, seemed to have no interest in engaging with anyone; it was unclear what had stirred the two this time.
Fang Lin Kong's sword light paused mid-air. He could already tell that while the demonic powers of these two monsters were not low, they were still far inferior to Yamata no Orochi and Yuan Tiankong. If it weren't for their ulterior motives, these two creatures would have been dealt with long ago.
Since the battle posed no immediate threat, Fang Lin Kong was in no rush to join the fray. He first landed on the Divine Ship and saw that the members of the First Guard Brigade were all excited, their faces flushed. When he inquired further, he learned that these two monsters were indeed as he suspected—likely evolved Exotic Giant Scorpions. Their demonic power was formidable, but their intelligence was low; many demons bore no aversion to slaughtering their own kind. Thus, when Yamata no Orochi gleefully suggested capturing them to brew scorpion wine, the crew immediately became animated, eager to share in the spoils.
One team member even said to Fang Lin Kong, "Nowadays, there are very few foolish demons on Earth who don't understand how to cultivate their bodies. It seems these two fellows have at least a few thousand years of experience; their inner dan must be a great supplement. Are you going to take action? Otherwise, those two will surely keep it for themselves."
Fang Lin Kong understood that while there were things like Energy Converters on Earth, the energy converted could only remain in the body for a limited time and had little effect on enhancing demonic power. As for elixirs that could boost one's power by several decades, due to the extinction of certain herbs, they had long since become mere legends. Techniques that could rapidly enhance power—such as bloodsucking from vampires or methods like Heavenly Demon Technique, North Sea True Qi, and Star Absorption Technique—were often flawed and not easily mastered by practitioners.
For instance, the notorious Blood God Manual offers boundless benefits once mastered, but the process of achieving mastery is fraught with peril; out of a hundred practitioners, at least ninety-nine would perish. It was far less reliable than proper cultivation.
Inner dan were naturally exceptional treasures that greatly replenished true qi. Unfortunately, those capable of cultivating inner dan on Earth were all formidable experts; ordinary individuals would not dare entertain thoughts of seizing another's inner dan as such actions would be tantamount to seeking death. Even members of Demon Hunting Teams who specialized in hunting demons would not dare commit such a universally despised act. The practice of stealing others' inner dan was looked down upon and even hated on Earth.
However, things were entirely different on Gouli Continent. Here, monsters were overwhelmingly powerful; creatures with hundreds or thousands of years of cultivation were as common as cabbages. Moreover, many of them lacked understanding of how to cultivate their bodies and possessed extremely low intelligence.
This immediately sparked various wicked thoughts among these demons whose moral standards were already below average.
The two Scorpion Inner Dans were about the size of ostrich eggs—smoothly round and faintly yellowish. When sunlight hit them, they appeared almost transparent, glistening and radiant.
