A furious roar echoed from the staff, only to be sealed away by Garen within the System. 0

Although the Revenant Master spoke convincingly, Garen believed he might truly possess the ability to use life to save Talina. However, sacrificing his own soul for that purpose was clearly out of the question. 0

It wasn't that he feared death; rather, compared to the dream of "saving the world," saving just one life—Talina's—would seem far more selfish, wouldn't it? 0

Of course, this encounter with the Revenant Master made Garen realize a crucial fact: using the Undead Staff as an extreme force for balance among three parties would not be an easy task. With the demise of Necromancer Mogao, the Undead Staff was currently an unclaimed item. Thus, this local undead lord effectively became its master; without his consent, the staff couldn't even unleash its extreme powers of death. 0

Moreover, there was no one around Garen who understood necromancy, making it impossible to subdue the staff and subsequently capture the Soul. Ultimately, he would have to deal with this Revenant Master directly. 0

Garen decided to set this matter aside for now; finding a third-party balancing item was far more critical. 0

He glanced at the Rune Fragment in his possession and contemplated for a moment before deciding not to use it just yet. 0

The next morning, Garen attended class on the field as usual, while Tifet and others observed nearby. 0

Once class ended, Tifet slowly approached him. 0

"I may have found a third-party extreme power you need." 0

"Found it?" Garen was taken aback, somewhat incredulous that Tifet would help him with such matters. He then cast a puzzled look in her direction. 0

Tifet shrugged his shoulders. "Unfortunately, I only have this good news and one bad piece of news." 0

The good news referred to the fact that there were leads on the third-party extreme powers. 0

"And the bad news?" Garen asked, bemused, thinking that even the elite of the empire enjoyed playing these kinds of teasing games. 0

"The bad news is that the owner of such an item is not an easy person to deal with." 0

It was understandable that someone who could wield extreme powers would not be easy to talk to. 0

"This item..." Garen realized something. "So you can't be sure if they actually possess it?" 0

Tifet shook his head and said, "If it really is her, I can assure you she wields extreme powers, but in her hands, such power would merely be a toy to pass the time." 0

Behind Tifet, Deer Lion Dog and Yasthia exchanged glances and couldn't help but smile wryly. 0

Clearly, they did not think Tifet's description was exaggerated; in fact, they felt he had underestimated her. More accurately, in her eyes, this kind of extreme power had long been child's play decades ago. 0

"Who is she?" Garen asked, a bit curious. 0

Tifet took a deep breath and pronounced a name heavily: "Merlin." 0

It sounded like a name fitting for a wizard. 0

Garen stroked his chin and asked, "Where can we find her?" 0

However, Tifet did not respond. Garen looked at him in confusion, only to see the five of them staring at him with wide eyes, filled with strange expressions, as if they were looking at a monster... 0

Yasthia exclaimed in surprise, "Haven't you heard of Merlin?" 0

Garen tried to recall but shook his head and asked in return, "Should I have heard of her?" 0

"Oh my, he hasn't even heard of Merlin!" Deer stared wide-eyed, suddenly pointing at Lion. "Even this stupid pig knows about Merlin, and you don't? Oh, did you just jump out from a rock?" 0

"Hey, I'm a lion, not a pig," Lion retorted unhappily, then looked at Garen in astonishment. "But I do know about Merlin, that terrifying woman... Oh, just thinking about her makes me lose all desire to fight! Deer, show me something; I might be sick!" 0

Garen observed the shocked expressions on everyone's faces and felt increasingly puzzled. 0

In the end, it was Tifet who provided a detailed explanation. 0

"In simple terms, Merlin is a legend. According to known records, her birth triggered a strong resonance of magical elements that caused the last tsunami at Arthur Coast. By the age of thirteen, she was already an outstanding Silver Mage, which is the second level within the Second Rank." 0

Legends are always astonishing; otherwise, they wouldn't be called legends. Tifet finally found a look of surprise on Garen's face, which pleased him somewhat. But then he shook his head. 0

"But if you think that's where it ends, you're mistaken. When Merlin turned twenty-one, the year she graduated from the Magic Academy, she did something to prove she was about to make her mark on the world." A look of reverence crossed Tifet's face as he solemnly uttered one word— 0

"Dragon Slayer." 0

Garen had personally experienced the power of dragons; even the weakest branch, the Earth Dragon, possessed strength close to Third Tier when fully grown. As for Sundgoth, it was an anomaly; in truth, it had not yet reached maturity and had suffered severe injuries in the past, so its strength had yet to recover. 0

Just imagining a twenty-one-year-old Dragon Slayer mage was terrifying! 0

The dog added, "To be more precise, it is a Subfrost Dragon." 0

The Subfrost Dragon is the Queen of the Frost Dragon Tribe, second only to the king of the Frost Dragon lineage. 0

Upon hearing this, even Garen couldn't help but open his mouth in surprise. 0

"Legendary? No, this doesn't quite qualify as a legend; it merely indicates that Merlin is a prodigy in the magical realm." Tifet shook his head. "The Second Continental War took place one hundred seventy-four years ago, and at that time, Merlin was already a pioneer of human magic. After the war, based on incomplete records, she had at least slain sixteen Bloodline Marquises and dozens of Dark Elf Knights at the same Third Tier level." 0

"In addition, there was the Wolf Distribution Leader from the Summit of Ten Thousand Mountains... and the commander of the Dark Dragon Tribe... However, the most astonishing achievement that truly established her legendary status was her killing of a Celestial Race member." 0

Achievements on the battlefield are naturally directly related to the number of enemies killed and their strength. 0

However, Garen had never heard of the term "Celestial Race" before. 0

The dog noticed his confusion and explained, "The matters concerning the Celestial Race are quite complex. The Second Continental War is said to have been instigated by them... But you can understand them as beings closest to the divine." 0

"There aren't many Celestial Race members; they can only give birth to one every thousand years or so, so you can imagine how difficult it is to kill one..." 0

The Second Continental War could be considered the largest battle since the formation of Godeas's new era. Ironically, this war had no clear reason; even several Holy figures couldn't find an explanation. In any case, after this battle, an agreement was reached between the Celestial Race and humanity. Under the deterrent power of these two great races joining forces, peace was maintained on the continent for a century. 0

Tifet did not linger too long on this topic; he looked at Garen and said, "So you understand what I mean?" 0

"Yes, she is a legendary figure," Garen replied after some thought. 0

"Indeed, such individuals are often very difficult to deal with," Tifet said with resignation. 0

"The mainland is known not only for the legend of Merlin but also for one more thing: she is quite stingy." 0

Tifet said, "Even after she ascended to the Holy Realm and chose to live in seclusion following the Second Continental War, she remained stingy. You couldn't even trade for a piece of bread from her." 0

"So, I hope you consider this seriously." 0

Garen nodded. Dealing with a legendary figure of such stature would indeed not be easy. Rather than wasting time there, perhaps seeking other extreme powers would be a more prudent approach. 0

"Where is she?" Garen asked. 0

"Two hundred miles away in Luscia City," Tifet replied. 0

"Alright, I'll go find her tomorrow. Want to join me?" 0

"…" 0

Tifet and the others had somewhat frozen expressions, feeling that all their previous words had been in vain. 0

However, in reality, Garen had listened attentively to every word they said. 0

What Tifet and the others did not know was that on a continent a billion light-years away, many legends were also circulating in the famous Demacia, including that of Garen. 0
