In a corner unnoticed by everyone, a dark figure stealthily approached behind Oshuria. He held a bottle of wine in his hand, pretending to be an oblivious Drinker, glancing around to ensure no one was paying attention. Then, he drew a dagger from his sleeve and lunged it toward Oshuria's back... 0

Suddenly! 0

Crimson blood gushed forth! 0

The young man stared in disbelief at his chest, where a sharp, triangular arrowhead protruded! Behind him, in the lineup, a calm warrior slowly retracted his crossbow. 0

"I've seen you before." Oshuria noticed the presence behind him and frowned. "One of the Ekria family?" 0

Oshuria snatched the dagger from the assailant's hand and stabbed him five or six times in the chest until he was utterly dead. Only then did he discard the dagger and take out a handkerchief to wipe his hands. 0

The entire process was brief, and the deceased Ekria guard was quickly dragged away. 0

"Haha, I never expected our Lord Edward would stoop to collaborating with a fallen family!" Oshuria seized every opportunity to mock. "So, what do you say? Will you reconsider my offer?" 0

Edward did not lift his head and continued drinking. "Even if I agree, you won't let me go, will you?" 0

Oshuria's eyes gleamed with appreciation as he coldly replied, "Yes, tonight you must die." 0

"Curse those merchants..." Edward shook his head and placed his cup back on the table. 0

If anyone had been paying attention to Edward's behavior throughout the night, they would have noticed this was the first time he set down his drink. At that moment, dozens of figures suddenly stood up in the tavern; they were the Drinkers who had previously cheered and applauded. In that instant, an astonishing wave of Fighting Spirit surged through them! 0

The atmosphere in the tavern suddenly shifted, as everyone vaguely sensed that something significant was about to happen. Even the drunken patrons instantly sobered up, panic-stricken as they rushed toward the door. 0

"Oshuria," he said, his expression darkening as he watched the approaching warriors. "It’s time to call your people in!" 0

... 0

In contrast to the drinkers, the nobles remained relatively composed. In fact, most of them had anticipated that something would occur tonight, which was why they had gathered here. However, they were indifferent to the process and only focused on the outcome. Or rather, they simply wanted to know who would emerge victorious in the end. 0

This ability to adapt to changing circumstances was a skill that the nobles excelled at. 0

Only on the square arena did two figures simultaneously choose to hold back. 0

A raspy voice emerged from beneath the wolf mask. "Looks like you're in trouble." 0

"You are too," Garen replied noncommittally. 0

"No, no, no, I'm not like you!" The wolf stretched his limbs and teased, "The old man expects me to keep those nobles in check; he won't come after me. But you? If I keep entangling you, will you even make it out alive tonight?" 0

"You are not my opponent," Garen stated calmly. 0

"I hate your unfounded confidence; it’s as if you weren’t giving it your all just now!" At this point, the wolf's voice abruptly halted. 0

In Garen's hand appeared a massive silver sword. 0

"You..." The Big Bad Wolf seemed to feel something and finally opened his hands. "Fine, I won't interfere." 0

"Why should I trust you?" Garen tightened his grip on the Stormblade. 0

The Big Bad Wolf was taken aback by this response. How had the roles of initiative and passivity reversed in just a few short exchanges? 0

"Fire!" 0

At that moment, a low shout rang out! 0

Garen turned to see a row of neatly organized warriors standing inside the tavern, armed with various weapons. At the command of their leader, the first row of soldiers released their crossbow bolts in unison. With a flurry of "whoosh" sounds, the bolts flew straight toward the group of guards surrounding Edward! 0

With just one glance, Garen shook his head. 0

The disparity between the two sides was too great. The soldiers brought by Oshuria were clearly professionally trained. Although Garen still considered them quite amateurish and unrefined, the mere fact that they were lined up so neatly and that their leader had clear command far surpassed the capabilities of Edward's warriors! 0

Sure enough, within moments, several of Edward's soldiers fell, arrows embedded in their bodies. Only a few warriors with exceptional Fighting Spirit managed to hold on, hastily flipping tables and chairs to use as shields before charging at the soldiers! 0

One Bulky Man threw an entire table and chair set aside and then charged forward, swinging his blade wildly. However, before his sword could touch any enemy, Skorando kicked him away! With a loud crash, he smashed through the tavern's wooden wall. Through the hole, one could vaguely see many people outside—those unwilling to leave, including drinkers and nobles. 0

The warriors fought desperately to break through and finally closed the distance between both sides, even managing to kill three or four crossbowmen! However, they paid a heavier price for it; against a regular army, there was so little they could do. Even though their Fighting Spirit was still abundant within them, they were suppressed from all sides. For every enemy they killed, three or four of their own fell. 0

Fortunately, there were still members of the Ekria Family's guards supporting each other, which allowed the situation to stabilize at least enough not to lose too quickly! 0

"Kill that kid too!" Oshuria suddenly shouted. 0

Skorando turned his gaze, ultimately landing on Rody, who was nestled in a corner of the tavern. Surrounding him were seven or eight family guards, forming a tight protective circle. 0

"Second team, fire!" Skorando immediately issued the command. 0

He felt no hesitation at the sight of a child as the target; for someone like him, who had been on the battlefield, "execute" was more important than anything else. 0

The dozen soldiers on the edge swiftly turned and unleashed a barrage of arrows toward the corner where Rody stood! 0

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!" 0

Arrows flew like lightning, ultimately piercing through the bodies of several guards! 0

In the blink of an eye, arrows were embedded in the wooden walls on either side of Rody. Despite possessing level 4 Fighting Spirit, he was forced deeper into the corner! 0

All of this transpired in an instant. The distant Ekria guards wanted to rush to his aid but were too late to intervene, helplessly watching as Rody was pushed into a corner, trapped in a dire situation. 0

Another wave of arrows came flying in! 0

At that moment, a tall figure appeared. The broad blade of a massive sword swung through the air, and the released Fighting Spirit shattered the incoming arrows! 0

Garen shielded Rody behind him! 0

Not far away, Oshuria showed no sign of anger; instead, he seemed to have anticipated this turn of events. 0

"I knew you would intervene..." Oshuria sneered. "Lord Terlino, kill him!" 0

Terlino adjusted his black military cap and frowned. "To be frank, the price of the Holy Silver Crossbow Bolt is steep. Considering the battle losses, I do not recommend using it on that person." 0

Oshuria, feeling anxious, quickly replied, "No, Lord Terlino... You don't understand how terrifying this person is! He must be taken down in one strike; otherwise, the losses will be even greater!" 0

"He's just an eighth-level warrior," Terlino said dismissively. "While we may not match him in individual strength, this is a team battle. I don't believe any eighth-level warrior can survive being besieged by three hundred people! Please have faith in us!" 0

"No!" Oshuria, fully aware of Garen's prowess, gritted his teeth and insisted, "Use the Holy Silver Crossbow Bolt to kill him! I will compensate you with another one afterward!" 0

After a moment of silence, Terlino finally nodded. "Alright then." 0

Oshuria let out a sigh of relief as if a heavy burden had been lifted. 0

Suddenly, a strong sense of danger enveloped Garen! 0

He looked around cautiously at the rows of soldiers—warriors under Edward's command and guards from the Ekria Family—three factions were still locked in fierce combat and showed no signs of stopping; nothing seemed out of the ordinary... 0

No matter how Garen observed, this intense feeling of danger felt like a brand seared into his heart, impossible to shake off. 0

Could it be... 0

Garen turned his gaze toward the Arena and saw the gray wolf standing quietly there, showing no unusual behavior. 0

Then where was this feeling coming from? 0

At that moment, a sudden gasp echoed through the tavern. 0

"Run... run!" Edward shouted as he jumped up from his chair, rushing towards Garen. 0

The crowd around Oshuria parted, revealing a middle-aged man who slowly removed his black military cap. Resting on his elbow was a massive crossbow, radiating a blinding silver light that nearly overshadowed the entire tavern! 0

This is bad! 0

Garen immediately pushed Rody away to safety and then moved at lightning speed, transforming into a golden streak as he dashed toward the other side of the tavern! 0

"Boom!!" 0

At that moment, the silver-white bolt shot forth, becoming a thick stream of silver light. Everything in its path—tiles, tables, and chairs—was torn apart as if they were made of paper, creating an astonishing spectacle! The beam of silver light surged to the corner, then suddenly spun sideways, aiming directly at Garen before blasting off again! 0

The silver bolt contained devastating Second Rank energy, enveloping Garen in an instant. Amidst the thunderous roar, the thick silver beam propelled Garen over thirty meters away, crashing through the tavern wall and continuing to surge outward! 0

On the street several dozen meters away, the silver bolt seemed to reach its peak. With a deafening explosion, it unleashed a violent gust of wind that made it impossible to open one’s eyes! 0

The entire tavern fell into silence; even the big bad wolf was momentarily stunned. 0

Edward collapsed onto the floor, clutching his hair in despair. 0

"No!!" 0

Rody's sorrowful cry echoed through the room as tears streamed down his face. 0

After what felt like an eternity, a gasp suddenly broke the silence in the tavern. 0

Then came the second sound, followed by the third... 0

Rather than a cry of surprise, it resembled the sound of someone gasping in shock. 0

Edward's eyes gradually regained their brilliance. 0

Rody's tear-filled eyes suddenly broke into a smile. 0

When Oshuria finally saw the scene, her face turned pale! 0

Before her lay a street where various shops and buildings had been ravaged by the power of the Second Rank, leaving behind a scene of devastation, resembling a wasteland. 0

In the very center of this ruin, a figure was half-kneeling, slowly straightening up! 0

He was clad in dark black armor that shimmered with a crystalline and hazy glow. A half-covered helmet concealed his cheeks, revealing only his nose and mouth, along with the resolute features on either side... 0

At his shoulders, two sharp spikes jutted out like fangs, gripping a cloak as dark as night! 0
