The broadcast announced, "Follow Starting Point for the latest updates on the 515 Red Envelope. For those who haven't managed to grab a Red Envelope since the New Year, now is your chance to shine."
The match between the Little Wave Team and the North Moon Group had dulled the audience's enthusiasm for the finals. Subconsciously, everyone still regarded the Pirate Team, Silent City, and Fire Cult as outsiders. Now, it was an internal struggle within the league for the championship, lacking excitement.
In fact, this match was not thrilling; the only highlight was that the North Moon Group utilized a back route.
When the Little Wave Team realized that the North Moon Group was undertaking a back route mission, they promptly upgraded their back route Arrow Tower to level three and stationed Mi Xiaoji there for defense.
Beiyue, Cui Ming, and Li Qing entered through the back route. During the finals, Cui Ming didn’t put much thought into it, even skipping the pre-match meeting as everyone was busy celebrating. For them, defeating the Fire Cult felt like an 80% victory. Their desire to win against the Little Wave Team was lacking. When Cui Ming suggested they just play around with the back route, everyone agreed.
Mi Xiaonan and Ding Ze defended the middle of the Bottom Lane, while Little Wave Team had Mi Xiaoji guarding the back route. The team called Set Off pushed straight through to the last Arrow Tower. In a confrontation between Mi Big Head and Mi Xiaolu against Ding Ze and Mi Xiaonan, Mi Xiaobo and Mi Xiaona Set Off pushed aggressively. The speed at which Mi Xiaona demolished towers was extraordinary; with her powerful artillery, she brought down the Arrow Tower in just over ten seconds. Meanwhile, Cui Ming and his team were still halfway through their back route.
As they approached the last Arrow Tower, Mi Xiaonan and Ding Ze used recall scrolls to return to their main base, quickly purchasing items and upgrading the final Arrow Tower to level two to begin their defense.
At this point, the Little Wave Team had several strategies: one was to take down the middle Bottom Lane's Arrow Tower, then hold their defense for five minutes to gather enough gold to arm everyone to the teeth. The second strategy involved gathering all four members to forcefully demolish the Arrow Tower.
Choosing the second strategy, Mi Xiaobo rallied his team. They purchased soldiers to clear a path and entered the area of the Arrow Tower. At this moment, the tower would only target the first soldier that entered its attack range unless someone attacked either Ding Ze or Mi Xiaonan. As they fought, Ding Ze took down soldiers while Mi Xiaonan unleashed a devastating attack with her skill, causing paralysis on both opponents.
The four retreated; battling against a level three tower was not worth it. During this skirmish, Mi Xiaona managed to reduce 20% of the tower's health.
In a second wave using the same tactic, they drained another 20% of its health.
As they began their third wave, Cui Ming and his team finally reached the end of their back route. Charging into the level three tower, they faced fierce resistance as it drained 10% of their health per second. However, they had come here as meat shields, waiting for an opportune moment—when they were close enough to engage with Mi Xiaoji.
With a massive bomb in hand, Mi Xiaoji prepared for an attack when suddenly, he was immobilized by a card from Cui Ming. In that instant, Li Qing, using a flying kick, struck at him before sending him flying out of the tower with a powerful punch. Immediately after, Beiyue withdrew while following closely behind him; lastly came Li Qing.
In a three-on-one situation, there was little doubt about the outcome. With low resistance against immobilization effects, Mi Xiaoji was swiftly defeated by all three attackers.
Mi Xiaobo was not in a hurry. There was a Level 3 Arrow Tower behind them and another Level 3 Arrow Tower at their base. Without soldiers to block the shots, it was impossible to take down either of these towers in a head-on fight. Moreover, aside from Li Qing, Beiyue and Cui Ming were not particularly fast. Even if something unexpected happened, they could use their return scrolls and be back at the base in eight seconds. At this moment, sending someone to revive Mi Xiaoji would be unwise; facing two against three with a Level 3 Arrow Tower meant that Ding Ze and Mi Xiaonan would retaliate fiercely.
Li Qing and his companions meditated to regain health. Li Qing said, "Junior brother, you really got us this time." The Level 3 Arrow Tower was too formidable.
"That's just how it is; it's all about the thrill," Cui Ming replied nonchalantly. "As long as we're having fun."
Beiyue, recovering health, asked, "Are you ready?"
"Yeah."
Beiyue charged into the Arrow Tower. Then came Li Qing, moving through the attack range of the Arrow Tower. Upon entering the last Level 3 Arrow Tower, Beiyue did not stop, losing eighty percent of his health as he entered the attack range of the second Arrow Tower. At this moment, Cui Ming flew towards the edge of the base, both hands raised as he rapidly attacked the crystal representing the Main Base.
As soon as Beiyue entered the range of the second Arrow Tower, he immediately consumed a high-priced health potion, quickly regaining health. Li Qing also took one but it felt somewhat wasteful since his health recovery speed could not keep up with the power of the Arrow Tower. Li Qing activated his Golden Bell Shield and Iron Cloth Shirt, silently enduring the onslaught of the Arrow Tower until he fell eleven seconds later.
The second to enter the Arrow Tower was Beiyue, so after Li Qing's death, Beiyue became the target of the Arrow Tower's attacks. He continued to assist in destroying the crystal without caring about his dwindling health...
Mi Xiaobo could see his Main Base's health value but could not determine whether they could destroy a tower before dying. When Li Qing entered the attack range of the second Arrow Tower, Mi Xiaobo decisively ordered, "Return." The reason was simple: Li Qing and Beiyue were already trapped inside; as long as they held their ground, their advantage would be immense and they could not afford to take risks.
But could they return just like that?
Ding Ze teleported next to the Arrow Tower and unleashed a Crescent Slash, interrupting his two opponents' preparations to retreat from afar. Lightning and energy waves struck again to disrupt them further as Ding Ze immediately fell back. After Mi Xiaobo and Mi Xiaonan were interrupted, they pursued one step forward while Mi Xiaonan launched a lightning ball forward. The four remained on guard as Mi Xiaonan turned around to leave. Mi Xiaobo said, "Xiaolu, Big Head retreat; everyone else hold your ground."
Mi Xiaolu and Mi Big Head fell back and began their eight-second return preparation while Mi Xiaobo and Mi Xiaonan held their positions. Ding Ze and Mi Xiaonan charged again. Mi Xiaonan fired heavy artillery at Mi Xiaonan relentlessly; however, Mi Xiaonan disregarded it entirely, relying on Mi Xiaonan's lack of control abilities to pass over him. In his hand was a crab he had fished out from the waterway; Thunderstorm erupted. Mi Xiaonan fell in battle; he couldn't withstand Mi Xiaonan's enhanced equipment's barrage but ignited Thunderstorm at last, paralyzing Mi Big Head and Mi Xiaolu and disrupting their return preparations which had to be restarted.
Ding Ze was mercilessly bullied by others; Mi Xiaobo charged swiftly and slammed Ding Ze against a large rock. Ding Ze fell into a dazed state as Mi Xiaobo picked up a massive hammer and smashed it down, shattering the rock and burying Ding Ze three inches into the ground. Just as Ding Ze regained consciousness, Mi Xiaobo charged again, pushing Ding Ze away; he didn’t even have time to prepare for teleportation before being slammed into another rock. Mi Xiaobo lifted a hammer twice his height and smashed it onto the ground; Ding Ze's body was sent flying from the impact. Mi Xiaobo charged once more, driving Ding Ze against a third rock—this time it shattered violently—then onto a fourth rock that also broke apart—then onto a fifth... Ding Ze died without any chance to retaliate or gather energy.
Almost simultaneously, Judge Dina announced: "The match is over; North Moon Group wins."
North Moon Group Alone and Alive Cui Ming stood with 25% of his health, ready to raise his arm in triumph, but was teleported out as the match ended. Ding Ze frowned and said, "I had already decided that if I lost, I would cut ties with you." As a specialist in enhancement, Mi Xiaobo did not have particularly high attack power, but because of this, Ding Ze had just endured an immense humiliation for ten seconds. He was utterly powerless against a girl who was no taller than a kindergarten student, his body and dignity trampled to worthlessness.
Cui Ming and Ding Ze clapped their hands, casually celebrating. The excitement they felt from defeating the Fire Cult was entirely different. There had been no preparation for this match; Cui Ming hadn't thought about it, and no one else had shared their opinions either. They didn't take this competition seriously at all, even if they were champions in their own right. Moreover, having defeated the Fire Cult, many believed they were already champions in their hearts.
After all, this was a competition; using lives to fill time in a real battle was simply unrealistic.
Mi Xiaobo approached with his team, shaking hands with everyone and congratulating them. Before the battle began, they had felt somewhat dispirited due to the Fire Cult. They could accept their defeat. Mi Xiaobo shook hands with Mi Xiaonan, looking at him and saying, "You’ve impressed me."
Mi Xiaonan glanced at the others nearby before turning back to respond, "Because I have a great group of friends."
Mi Xiaobo asked, "Aren't you watching dramas anymore?"
"No more," came the reply.
Mi Xiaobo continued, "What about movies?"
Mi Xiaonan answered firmly, "I swear I won't watch any films or shows again."
Mi Xiaobo stared at Mi Xiaonan for a long moment before saying, "Oh," and turning to walk away.
Meanwhile, Ding Ze sighed and turned to Cui Ming, saying, "This kid is destined to be lonely for life."
Cui Ming replied, "That's life; once you miss it, it's gone. Thankfully, with you being such a romantic expert around, after a few days of training, there’s still a chance for redemption."
Ding Ze quickly shook his head. "I rely on my looks to attract girls; when it comes to emotional skills, I need to consult Jayce."
"Haha."
The first Competition Match concluded, and Bufon began to ramble from the podium. "No... no... no... yes... yes... yes... harder... harder... harder... deeper... deeper... deeper... also, raise high, accelerate, push forward, explore, persist, grasp with both hands, be tough, seize firmly, strive..." After the applause subsided, his rambling came to an end.
Beiyue, representing the North Moon Group, received a large Force Stone as a prize. This had been agreed upon beforehand, although no one knew what to do with the thirty-kilogram Force Stone. Among the five of them, Beiyue certainly wouldn’t need it; Ding Ze would require a Magic Stone instead of a Force Stone. Mi Xiaonan's Chidori was powerful enough to disregard it, and whether shurikens were treasures or not was irrelevant. No one could turn the Force Stone into a Poker card, so Cui Ming found it useless as well. Only Li Qing could potentially forge a pair of Gloves and shoes from it. However, Li Qing was currently at a high level and preferred Zen practices over relying on external items. Thus, none of them were particularly interested in this reward.
As the only craftsman in the league, Bufon offered his assistance. "Do you need me to help forge anything?"
The five exchanged glances before Beiyue asked, "President, can you forge a Poker card?"
Bufon felt embarrassed and replied, "I cannot."
Li Qing then said, "Could you please refine the ore first?"
Bufon nodded. "Of course. By the way, Wandering mentioned he has treasures to give you. If you have time tonight, go find Wandering at Hunter Headquarters."
Cui Ming looked around. "Has Wandering left?"
"Yes, he has quite a lot on his plate," Bufon replied.
"You five will become heroes of Hero City’s Hall of Honor arena," Bufon continued. "You will have your own wall with your photos displayed and your profiles carved into it. So please fill out this form." He added that the North Moon Group would also be recorded in history—regardless of how many Competition Matches were held, they had already become members of the Hall of Honor. "Congratulations."
"Thank you," Cui Ming and the others expressed their gratitude as they filled out their basic information and handed it to Bufon before leaving.
